I gotta hand it to ya. I thought I wouldn’t be able to afford you based on my measly fashion budget(Goodwill, TJ Maxx, Goodwill, TJ Maxx — back and forth and back again). I was happily surprised to find budget-friendly items made by local fashion designers in your pretty new store. A few pieces that especially stood out — the rustic leather purses made with unfinished edges and a slender design that doesn’t leave you feeling like your carrying around arm luggage.(Can you tell I’m not a big purse person?) My other favorite(and soon-to-be purchase) was the fitted bib overalls — yes, I’ve always loved bib overalls and yes, I hope these do not become popular again because I want to be one of the few people in Indy to own these dandies. Beyond the items that stood out to me you’ll find bowties, cuffs, socks, dresses, pants and so on. The space is very crisp and lightly decorated leaving room for the owners to constantly change the vibe of the space.(kudos to them for keeping pedestrians on their toes with their ever-changing window displays). One more note, it doesn’t hurt that this strip of businesses on the north end of Mass Ave is pretty spectacular collectively: Natural Born Juicers, Homespun, Yats — — perfect round up.

This place is super new to Mass Ave and a welcome addition to the east end of the street. The space is raw and interesting — with a lot of reclaimed/repurposed pieces. The clothes are fantastic. When I made it to the accessories area I just kept saying«I want all of this!» They were so great. Can’t wait to start building up my wardrobe at Pattern!

Cool fashion shop featuring apparel and accessories for men and women. Backed by the local fashion collective Pattern, the store carries national/regional as well as local brands. Eventually, the store will serve as a brick and mortar location for designers who want to showcase their products. During recent visits, the Pattern store had mainly casual wears and accessories such as hats and handbags. Prices were reasonable, ranging from $ 20 for shirts to $ 40 for men’s slacks. Handmade items tended to be priced somewhat higher. I would say 2⁄3 of items were for women and 1⁄3 for men, though some items could be unisex. There weren’t a lot of formal wear items in stock, though that might change as inventory rotates and different designers are featured. The Pattern store is worth a visit the next time you are in north end of Mass Ave. Not only will you look good and feel good, but you will also be supporting the burgeoning local fashion community.

Pattern Store is awesome! With a mix of local and national brands you’re bound to find something! The magazine is fun to thumb through while shopping, too. Every time I stop by there’s new merchandise and it’s always displayed so tastefully. The Director of Retail Operations, Jeremiah, and his team of volunteers are always so helpful.
