Service was quick and good. The coffee is just okay. The food was good. We enjoyed the skillets. They were easy to accommodate our different requests. The highlight was the French toast. It was sweet and had a nice toast on the outside. It could be a little cleaner.

The corned beef skillet is amazing! The eggs are made perfectly, as ordered. The service is so welcomimg and warm. Everyone is really nice and the food is great– super inexpensice as well! That’s always a plus! The only thing I would complain about is the cleanliness. That is why I knocked it down from a 5 to a 4 star.

Today I was a little disappointed ar PaPa’s. Twice they brought out a cup of coffee with a dirty cup that still had lipstick on it. This is the first time I have had to make a complaint.

I’m on the fence about this place. I came here for breakfast for the first time yesterday. I ordered the ham and cheese omelette plate with hashbrowns and toast, my wife got the Eggs Florentine with hashbrowns. We both had ice tea to drink. Whoever they have working the grill in the back knows what they’re doing. My omelette was filled nicely with diced ham and american cheese(you can get cheddar or Swiss if you wish) and the omelette wasn’t burnt or scorched. Overall it was done quite nicely. Wasn’t a fan of the hashbrowns, they weren’t crisped at all and the potatoes seemed under-cooked. But they give you a ton of them, the portion is huge. You have the option of toast or pancakes with your meal. There’s no way in hell I could have ate everything including the pancakes. I bet they get a lot of requests for to-go boxes. My wife’s Eggs Florentine plate looked great and the eggs were perfectly poached. She requested only two eggs but was served three. Since poached eggs and hollandaise sauce are items that have to be consumed immediately the result was she ended up leaving half her food on the plate when we left. The service was spot on, our waitress was very friendly. This place has been under the same ownership for 40 years and the Greek couple who own it still work daily. He seats the guests and she works the register. But for the life of me I can’t see how other reviewers list this place as a cheap place to eat. By the time we walked out the door we were right at $ 30 with tip. That’s pretty spendy for an atypical breakfast for two IMO. There are only a couple items on the menu that are at the $ 8 price point. Both of our plates were right at $ 12 each. I would rather see them cut the portion sizes down and lower the prices a bit. No-one needs that much food unless they’re body builders on a cheat day. One thing I noticed about the lunch menu is that everything is served with potato chips. If you want fries it’s a $ 1.85 upcharge. I don’t regret eating here but I doubt I’ll be back.

If you ever are craving a great breakfast go see Papa. The best pancakes you can ever get, but don’t pass up all the other wonderful menu items. Papa has great omelette’s and everything is made exactly how you would want. Not only is breakfast awesome you can’t pass up lunch. If you are craving a patty melt don’t pass up the great one served here. Enjoy this little east side gem open for breakfast and lunch.

I have passed this restaurant many times on my way to another breakfast favorite. I decided to give Papa’s a try this morning. This place is great! My waitress couldn’t have been any nicer, and I had so much food I couldn’t eat it all. I had a ham and cheese omelet, hash browns and pancakes. I will be coming here again.

If you are looking for a locally owned pancake place/brunch spot, look no further than Papas Pancake House. Located right off of I-465 and Pendleton Pike, this place gives IHOP a run for its money. The interior of the restaurant is clean and professional, and they offer a number of daily specials in addition to their generous menu. The food tasted better than national pancake chains and was priced competitively.

Service was great and so was the food. This has a mom and pop’s feel to it. If it is a chain restaurant then I am fooled(I like to go local if possible). A little pricy but worth it(I’m cheap).

Came in on a Sunday morning, it was a little awkward upon arrival. There is no sign that says wait for hostess, or please seat yourself, so it kind of felt like everyone was looking at us. We were quickly seated, & our waitress was nice. She asked if we had been there before & went over the menu with us. I ordered the omelet with all the meats & vegetables. It was as an omelet in my opinion like an omelet should be not that folded over crap. As the waitress took our order she asked if we would need additional condiments which was great. I dislike when the food comes out, & then you have to wait for the additional condiments. The hot sauce was watered down. Yes I said that. It was not the red color that Franks should be it was pinker nor did it taste the same. The French toast was delicious, but the omelet was pretty average. All in all would I go back? Yes, I just wouldn’t get the same thing.

I came for pancakes, and this place delivered! First two full pages of the menu are full PF pancakes. Pictures of them too! Corny but I love pictures of what the food looks like. I was so freaking excited! They have some odd ball cakes(corn, coconut, pineapple). I ordered the strawberry. They came out fast. My only beef is that the strawberries weren’t fresh. I realize it isn’t in season, but having all those soggy berries is lame. It looked awesome and did taste quite yummy. They rolled the cakes and put berries in the middle and on top, so it was a very unique presentation(I posted a pic). I want to go back and try the others. I don’t know what the other reviewers were talking about. Maybe it was the time of day? We came mid morning on the weekend and it was busy and everyone was super friendly. The owner was there and seemed nice. Waitress was terrific! I’d go back for sure, and I’d recommend the breakfast at least.

One morning, the roommates invited me out for a morning-after-barhopping breakfast, and we ended up at Papa’s Pancakes. FINALLY! A diner with some character and some cheap eats! When I’m on the hunt for a good Sunday breakfast joint, it’s a challenge to find something that isn’t Denny’s or IHOP junk. I grew up going to Chicago diners with my grandparents. You know those Greek-owned diners that give you four eggs when you order two and have 10 different kinds of pie? Yeah, and I haven’t been able to find a place that barely compares to that in Indy… until now. This little retro diner is right off I-465 in Lawrence, and is so homey and totally old school. It reminds me of something my grandparents used to take me to as a kid. The atmosphere is chill, clean, and family friendly. They have booth seats, tables, as well as a breakfast bar near the back part of the dining room. The service was great and our waitress was really cool, treating us like we were the kids next door who stopped in for a bite. I love that. My crew sat in the big corner booth, and I ordered your basic breakfast: two pancakes, two eggs, two sausage links, and two pieces of toast with coffee. Wow. Good portions of food that really hit the spot. And my eggs have never been more perfect! Seriously, I am SUPER picky when it comes to the quality of scrambled eggs, and these were damn close to perfection. Everyone’s dishes were hot, fresh, and delicious, with a touch of awesome. My breakfast came to a grand total of $ 8 and change. Boom! Also, I’m all about buying locally. It’s better to support unique businesses rather than spending more money on a chain restaurant that doesn’t contribute to the community. A great experience had by all! So next time you’re on the north side, check out this staple in Lawrence for some home-grown American fare, just like mom used to make.

OMG. Should have known something was up when we were the only people in the place. Went here one day with my husband and had the worst restaurant experience ever. He ordered some random thing on the menu, I ordered the special. Yes, that days’ special. After a twenty+ minute wait the waitress appeared with my husband’s food only and told me that the cook did not know how to cook the special I had ordered. Yes, you read that right. I was dumbfounded and didn’t know what to say. She asked me if I could order something else that their cook could make, I’m like WTF? Long story short, hubby ate his food in like 3 minutes, refused to pay the bill and we left. Will never go back.

When it comes to inexpensive, filling and, most importantly, delicious breakfasts, Papa’s is tops in Indy. Owners are always on hand to solve a problem or ask how your meal was. Hands down my favorite place in the city for breakfast.

The demeanor of the employees and the owner will keep me away forever. I agree with the 2 star reviewer, don’t go here. Indianapolis has plenty of other Greek breakfast restaurants that deserve your business over this supposed family establishment.
