Good sushi and authentic Japanese food at a great price. I am so happy I found this place. The little market attached lets me shop for Japanese food to make at home as well.

The place is so clean! While you order(which the prices are incredibly aceptionable for all that you get and the quality it’s served at!) you have time to stroll down the aisles and look at all the cool things the store sells at yet again… a great price! 100% worth it! Also, I’ve been there with friends who wither live in Japan or have visited multiple times who claim that the food is not Americanized. … so you’re getting the real deal :)

At first glance, One World Market appears to be a simple Japanese grocery store/food court combination. The menu isn’t fancy — maybe 30 different rolls, platters, and combos all told; however, the food quality is simply out of this world. Easily the best sushi I have had in Indy. Fresh, delicious, and definitely worth the price tag. Its delightfully surprising that a food court can deliver at a level like One World Market does. This quality carries over to the grocery store aspect, where one can find any number of Japanese specialty items. One World Market is a one-stop shop for anyone with a slight interest in Japanese cuisine. I would call it the best sushi joint in town if you aren’t looking for a sit-down ambience.

The sushi here is very good-I would definitely come back for it. I got a Fresh salmon to go meal that I took home for later and it was also very good. I wasn’t impressed by the baked goods and it’s not a large store so selection was minimal. They do have extra dark and matcha kit Kats so we were pretty excited about that. Service was friendly-seating was a bit difficult and we were there at an off time. I imagine they are busy all day.

Would say 3.5 more than 3 stars for my rating, but there’s no option for that. Enjoyed my experience here. I’ve been on quite the ramen and Asian noodle soup kick recently and wanted to try this place out. The grocery store part is adorable. Filled with tons of great Japanese products, fresh sushi grade fish, and a good selection of fresh veggies. The food was served food court style. You order the food then awkwardly wait near the counter for your number to be called. On my most recent visit, I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. The food came quickly and looked delectable! The broth was decent, and needed a bit more seasoning or pork flavor, but the toppings made up for it. The pork slices they give you are fatty and succulent. They melt in your mouth as you take a bite and are jam packed with flavor from the marinade. The bamboo shoots weren’t forgotten either! They much have these sitting in something delicious(and soy sauce based) because one bite and you’ll wish you had a bowl full of them! The ginger was a punch in the face of ginger flavor as well, so if you don’t love strong ginger in your soup, be careful about taking a bunch in one go(personal experience of taking a huge bite of ginger…). Finally the noodles. Personally, they were a bit soft for my taste, but still better than anything I can make at home. Over all the food was good, but not blow your mind great. I’ll be back to try more, and am super happy with the thought of picking my own sashimi and having them cut and serve it for me!

Really great sushi. Ordering and getting your food is a bit disorganized. Very casual. Miso was on point. Fairly priced. Authentic you can shop in the market while you wait.

I came here with some of my co-workers for lunch. One World is a busy Japanese market/eatery. I didn’t purchase any of the groceries, however, I did have a tasty lunch. I still do not eat raw sushi so I was pleased to find a fair amount of cooked sushi options available. Also, the cashier at the counter was helpful with explaining the menu. Once we all ordered at the counter, we found a table in the dining room and waited for our number to be called. Since the dining room must share part of its space with groceries you can imagine that the ambience is not the best. It is purely functional-get your food, sit down and eat, then leave. Don’t think you will be marveling at the awesome décor. It took quite a bit of time to get our food, however, when I was able to take a bite of it, the flavor was good. I ordered the Spicy Shrimp Roll, however, I didn’t think it was that spicy. Both of my coworkers were happy with their meals and had no complaints. My One World experience was satisfactory, but not extraordinary. The sushi was good, however, since spicy was in the name I would have liked more kick. The cashier was friendly and helpful. The ambience was definitely nothing to write home about and the staff could have been quicker cleaning the tables. All in all this experience was fine but nothing I would rave over, hence I rated it three stars.

Believe the hype! Is is THAT good! We stopped here on the way to our hotel for an early dinner of Katsu-Don & Spicy Inari for Reiko and Spicy Tuna Avocado Roll for me. We browsed the store while waiting for our food and found some interesting things as well as standard items we find at our local Japanese market in metro Detroit, Noble Fish. The store is a little larger and so is the kitchen and order counter. The food we picked was as good as our expectations and my Tuna Roll was one of the largest I’ve had, although still bite-size for me. Price per portion size is reasonable. The flavor of the Katsu-Don was just right and the pork cutlet was tender. Reiko boxed about half of it to bring with us. We also picked up a few things from the store including Matcha KitKats and Matcha Roll for later. Another key point was clean restroom! We’ll be back! Update: Matcha KiKats are addictive!

One World Market is one of my favorite places in Indianapolis. Having recently moved here, and being from the West coast, I was pleasantly surprised to find a Japanese market with a food court. The place is generally crowded around mealtimes, which attests to the quality of the food and the atmosphere. The sushi is fresh and very tasty, and I’ve enjoyed all of the hot menu items that I’ve tried, especially the katsu curry and the takoyaki. Everything is reasonably priced and the ½ off sushi after 7PM is definitely a bonus. The grocery store is small but very clean. I was very excited to find snacks and ingredients that I thought I could only get in Taiwan or Japan. The place has become my go-to for shopping and for satisfying my cravings for Japanese food!

The sushi, chirashi bowl, and sashimi is a great deal here. You can choose your cuts of fish and they will cut it for you and it’s at a GREAT price. It’s definitely my go to for sashimi. The other food items, however, are subpar. I had a ramen bowl and my date got the beef curry and rice. Both were lackluster in flavor and seasonings; I would never order them again.

Part Japanese café part grocery store. I love One World for some quick quality eats. Their sushi is fresh and tasty, their ramen is savory and hits the spot on cold rainy days.

I stopped in one my way to Kentucky and on my way back to Chicago. It’s not big, but they got some good sushi. I would like to actually eat here next time though. People are friendly and nice. Would come again!

I decided to check this place out on a whim. I’m glad I did. It’s a cute little café with a market. Sushi tasted fresh. It’s reasonable for the amount of sushi you get. I think next time I come I might check out the ramen dish.

So glad I found this place. Definitely reminded me of Japan, not the fancy one but the street style. Still on the hunt for good ramen like ramen nagi’s/ippudo but for the price it’s not that bad. :)

I love this little Sushi Bar /Japanese Market. The sushi is the freshest that you will find in Indiana(yes, it’s Indiana so don’t expect ocean fresh). Also, the kitchen food(gyu don, ramen, rice balls) were just as good as many of the street vendor that I have eaten from around Tokyo. This is not Japan, but this place is as close as you will get in Indiana.

I can’t think of many other places I can get authentic and traditional Japanese ingredients. When you get here, you’ll notice there are a lot of Japanese and Korean families shopping here. I think that speaks for itself how much they have in terms of foods you would find overseas. They also have kitchenware items for sale like rice cookers and donabe(土鍋), as well as things like small toys and candy. The food offered is pretty good, I had miso ramen and it tasted fine. Their sushi looks great but I have yet to try it. This place is really a hidden gem in northern Indianapolis.

Great Sushi… which is what we tried. Easily the best Sushi we had in Indy(reminded me of Sushi in Maui. fresh tasting). Had Spicy Tuna, Tokyo and the Shrimp rolls for the 3 of us. Each came with the Miso soup. I liked the spicy tuna the best and packed what I couldn’t finish for home. Very busy on the Saturday afternoon. If you know the menu, you can stand in line to order or stand in line and decide what you may want(you can read the menu from the line — they have a double printed board). The place is nondescript(next to Rei). We had seen the place many times, but this the first time we ventured in. Part shop, part restaurant. The restaurant got filled up easily, even though there were more patrons who ordered to-go than ate there. You can buy many Japanese basic grocery times there… and the helpful grocery lady helped us pick us few items when we struggled with the Japanese labelling. Better late than never… on knowing about this place. Now that we do… it may become a fast favorite.

I have shopped at One World Market a number of times when cooking Asian cuisine at home but had never eaten there. The food always looked great and I finally decided to give it a try and was not disappointed. I had the special which was shrimp tempura udon and a side dish of rice with a piece of tuna, salmon, eel and roe. As expected, everything was amazing! I will definitely go back and try more dishes, especially the sushi.

This is a nice little Japanese grocery store behind Castleton mall. They carry everything you need to make an authentic Japanese meal, but that’s about it. The restaurant inside is a hidden gem. You can get great fresh sushi or udon noodle soup to dine in or carry out at a reasonable price.

You know you’re on to something good when the place is packed and it’s in a grocery store! The soups are amazing, but they need to introduce corn to it! The price is good for what they offer. Love going here on a chilly day. Go in expecting nothing and you’ll be impressed.

So, so great! First of all… let’s talk about the pricing! Where else can you get a whole plate of sushi for $ 7? Or a chirashi bowl for $ 11? Not only is the sushi delicious, but the amount to pick from in the market section is awesome! There are so many different things to choose from. The selection is awesome! This is the first place that I have found umeboshi to buy and it has such a wide variety of brands and types to try. I also can’t get over how far your money goes at this market. Everything is so reasonably priced! I highly recommend this market. Very good selection. Awesome sushi. Wonderful prices.

First time eating here. I had the Tempura udon combo that included a california roll. It was a real good deal for $ 7.95. I saw the cooks fry the shrimp tempura upon each order. It makes a big difference! We came at noon-ish on a saturday. It was busy; but we got a seat. I like this place! It’s more than just a grocery store.

Am I in Japan? Wait, I’m at One World Market! This sushi/noodle/standard Japanese fare/grocery store has great rolls and sashimi. It’s also a great place for udon and tempura. There is a great selection of pre-prepared sushi and sashimi. I love the tamago that they have pre-made; I buy slabs of it and slice it at home. Their grocery selection is great, with Japanese staples like noodles, sauces, fresh produce, and of course a great selection of candy. There are bowls, household items, tea, and sake on offer, too. If you go during the weekend be ready for a crowd.

Still the best place in town to get sushi making supplies, including fresh raw fish. The selection of the grocery section has diminished though, with candy and treats taking over with less room for sauces. They also have a restaurant for no frills dine in or carry out. Their soups are great and the sushi is always fresh and reasonably priced. Check out their selection of sake, too!

This is one of my favorite Japanese places in the Indianapolis area. While the groceries trend toward the expensive side, they have a great selection of goodies. One of the few places you can find Uni on the regular, even if it is quite expensive. The fresh food from the kitchen and high quality fish is the highlight of the place. I love all of their food. The sushi is outstanding. Fish is fresh and delicious. Love the chirashi. Tasty udon and tempura. You really just can’t go wrong with their menu. The only thing is it’s packed on Sundays for lunch so be prepared for a wait!

How… How have I not been here before?!? Our first visit to One World Market was in January, and now I can’t get it off of my mind. I had seen this place a dozen times, and never thought to go in(I’m pretty loyal to the international grocery store that I used to live near). One of my work colleagues told me this was one of her favorite places in Indy to get sushi, and all I could think was«you mean that little, tiny place by REI?» So on a recent trip to REI, we opted to try it out. I’m so glad I did. This place is about 75% small Japanese grocery &25% Japanese food court, and it’s not as small as I thought it was. It’s Glorious. We shopped around for a bit, got lunch, and then picked out our grocery purchases before we left. The grocery is well laid out and has a wonderful selection of dry goods, home goods, fresh produce, fresh meat, & frozen goods. It even has a few items that can be difficult to find at the local large international food stores(i.e. bento box supplies). Our favorite part of One World Market grocery was the selection of sashimi grade«sushi-makings» that were weighed, packed & ready to go home to assemble your own sushi or sashimi feast at home. What a great deal! For lunch we both opted to get the«special» of the day, which was a tuna-heavy chirashi bowl with a side of miso soup. It was one of THE Best Chirashi bowls I have had in a LONG time. There were *huge* slices of fish and a good variety. There were also these delightful mushrooms that were under the fish, that was a delightful surprise as I was tunneling into my chirashi bowl. Business was HOPPING on a Saturday, but our overall wait times for food & checking out were not as bad as I was expecting. This place is outstanding, and I can’t wait to return!
