Oakley Hammond Funeral Home, Moore & Kirk Irvington Chapel

This was not a service that I had anticipated needing so soon, but I am glad they were there for us in our time of need. We have been utterly distraught at the sudden passing of my sister. The grief, of course, is still there, but I couldn’t have asked for nicer people to handle her arrangements.
Joe Hammond is one of the kindest people I have ever met. I know that we all felt at ease with him. All through my sister’s visitation, funeral and burial, Joe was there from start to finish. He isn’t obtrusive in any way, but was right there whenever we needed him. He was very gentle, kind and professional. He answered all of our questions throughout and gave us directions when needed.
They did a wonderful job with my sister for the viewing and set up all of her flowers and photographs beautifully as well. Joe was right there to greet us in the morning when we arrived at the church. He worked with my father within the budget we had and didn’t push anything expensive on him.
There is a lot more I could say, I am sure, but my mind is still a little jumbled from the shock of losing my sister. I cannot express enough how highly I think of Joe and the rest of the staff. It gave me a lot of peace to know she was being taken care of by this funeral home in our old stomping grounds. I had a less than satisfactory experience somewhere else when my mother passed several years ago. It is good to know that such places as Oakley Hammond exist that will give your loved one the dignity they so deserve. I pray that I will not need anything else from Joe for quite some time, but if and when I do, our family will be returning here for all of our needs of this nature.

Joe Hammond and Oakley Hammond Funeral Home was very gracious to me and my family when a family member died unexpectedly. He really worked with us and went above and beyond the expected service. I highly recommend Oakley Hammond.
