Ms B’s Sweet Supplies

If you love to bake or make candy this is the shop for you. Doesn’t matter if you’re a beginning baker or a pro, you’ll find wonderful products for your skill sets.
If you have bridal showers coming up stop in for the bridal dress cookie cutter then use fondant and shivering powder dust to make elegant favors. Or use as your favors at your wedding. So many ideas in this store and a great source for bakers and candy makers alike.

My favorite shop for baking goodies! We got a bag of melting chocolate chips and a frog mold to make candies for my son’s Harry Potter themed birthday!

Lizz C. and I have recently been doing a heck of a lot of baking, and most recently, begun a foray into candy making. There’s no baking and/​or candy making specific shop here in Lafayette, so we used good ol’ Google to see if there were any in nearby cities.
Turns out there’s a huge one in Fort Wayne, and then this place in Indy. Not feeling Fort Wayne-​y, we headed to Indy and Ms B’s.
I can’t quite put my finger on very specific reasons why I’m feeling very 2-​starry about this place, but there you have it.
Perhaps it’s the lack of attractive lighting. I wouldn’t say the place is dimly lit, but the light is «off.»
Maybe it’s the organization, or perhaps lack thereof. Or the lack of a good book selection (I suspect they’d rather sell a class than a book). Or maybe the lack of breadth of selections in certain categories. They’ve only got one brand of chocolate, for instance.
I think what it comes down to is that there’s so many things they could be doing better that I don’t even know where to start.
That said, they’ve got all the CK-​brand candy coatings you could ever need, as well as lots and lots of candy molds, sticks, thermometers, baking pans, and so forth, so if you need these things — they’ve got em, and the prices are not out of line.

I was really excited, I was expecting. I don’t know what I was expecting.
I am happy that this would be a source for a lot of shaped pans and candy molds. They also have a lot of the pre-​tempered melt-​and-​pour chocolates to select from.
Sanding sugars, decorative doobers — yes, but. I just got the feeling that something was really missing here. Something that would inspire me to buy more there, something that would inspire me to learn a new technique.
The way the store was organized probably wasn’t really synching well with my weird brain — and with all of the ‘pre made’ or ‘shortcut’ ingredients there, I didn’t really feel super at home there.
If you bake shaped cakes, or decorate a lot of cakes or cupcakes — this is likely an EXTREMELY good local resource for bags, tips, cupcake plunger type decoraters, pans and predone frosting/​fondant. I just found the rest of the selection a little odd.
I’m sure Jon C. and I will be back to this store, as it’s a nice resource for a few things we want/​need. Perhaps as our knowledge on pastries/​candies grows, we will see that this little store with nice staff people has more to offer us =)

Talk about hitting the baking mother load!!! What a fun shop! I personally love it! I will forever be a fan. The owner and her daughter are two of the sweetest people (no pun intended) I have met here in Indy. They have everything imaginable in the baking and candymaking genre.

Supplies and stuff for baking and candy making. Both ingredients, and stuff like utensils, tools, pans, moulds.
I got some candy moulds, and flavorings here.
If you’re a professional or hobbyist baker or candy-​maker, it’s worth checking out. Very extensive array of stuff.
