Piercing review
Got a piercing job (2 on helix) done at Metamorphosis a year ago and they put hoops in and NEVER healed, have been very painful. I went here with a friend and he was very anxious, but the piercer (I think it was Danny) did a good job explaining things to him. I asked him about my piercings and he said that studs are way better for cartilage healing than hoops and that might help them heal, and said he would have placed them slightly differently (one is right on the bump of my cartilage… why).
I went back several months later and reminded him of our conversation and he replaced my hoops for the studs. He is always super willing to answer questions, but it would be nice if he explained some things on his own (he put in one that was too small and then took it out and put a larger one in but I had to ask what was going on). As far as them needing people skills, I never felt put off by him at all, and the artwork in this place is amazing. Will definitely go to him for future piercings!
Can’t speak for the tattooing, but as far as piercing, this place is the best I’ve been to!

Came back to get my nose pierced and was kind of disappointed. Danny did a great job as usual but he didn’t talk and kind of rushed me out of there. It was sort of uncomfortable. And he didn’t even offer to let me see where he marked the piercing on my nose before piercing it. That was upsetting but I know he’s great at what he does. Just disappointed with the experience.

I absolutely love this place. After going to several tattoo parlors, I will never go anywhere besides Midwest ever again. I’ve gotten 4 out of my 5 tattoos there (3 by Shannon and 1 by John) that I absolutely adore. I also got my belly button pierced here. The guys are super cool and friendly and make you feel comfortable during a very nerve wracking experience. It’s a great place and I’ll never go anywhere else!

I had a great experience and this place comes highly recommended by those in tattoo circles. I have started both of my leg pieces here and the guys were amazing! My sister also was able to get a cover up here from Scott and it turned out terrific and couldn’t even see the old tattoo. I suggest you make an appointment but other than that it was great!

If it was possible to give negative stars, this place would get –5.
Upon walking in with a friend, the both of us were immediately treated with rudeness and blatant disrespect. I was getting my nose pierced and my friend was get 8^th tattoo. After my friend explained what she wanted, the tattooer drew something that was not exactly what my friend wanted. She tried (very kindly) to give him a better idea of what she wanted, but he continually told her that her idea was «wrong» and that he was the artist. This man and the other tattooer/​piercer at the front finally caved and agreed to my friend’s idea… But only after making fun of her and telling her the design was «not how it was supposed to look» for a solid five minutes. For whatever reason, it was obviously hard for this guy to understand this this is something that is permanent on her skin, not his skin.
These people have zero people skills, but were insistent that «this is how all tattoo places are, it’s just how we act.» Everything we said, whether it was a general question or explaining an idea, was countered by a snide, condiscending remark. Not only did the place reek of hot garbage, but the two poor excuses for men stunk strongly of body odor, stale cigarettes, and weed. Additionally, they apparently have never used finger nail clippers, soap, or tooth brushes.
Both my friend and I were elated to not give these dirty bums our business. I would never in my life recommend this place to anyone, ever, for anything. I will celebrate the day this place goes out of business!

Ughhhhh.
I had several sessions for several tattoos with one specific artist. He was never on time, which would become more and more frustrating. He would take frequent smoke breaks, also frustrating. When it came time for my half-​sleeves, I would say specifically what I was looking for, yet it was never delivered. The only tattoo I don’t regret from this place is the portrait on my calve, which is awesome.
I quickly left this shop after my half-​sleeves were basically ruined, and ran to Artistic Skin Design right down the street. Review for them is being written next.
