INCREDIBLE ! 6 adults show up… with 4 more on the way… we order some drinks and appetizers… and again. THEDAMNJUKEBOXCOMESONFULLBLAST !!! They would not turn it down… soooo…we left. How the hell do you run… affluent, middle aged people, that eat out all the time… out of your EMPTY restaurant on a Thursday night with incredibly loud music ??? It very much seemed intentional… I would hope not a racial component… however…they did not charge us for anything… although we did leave some cash behind…

The shrimp ceviche was excellent. The entrees were good as well. The seafood was a bit overdone on one of the dishes. Very tasty.

Great service, great food. I can’t believe I’ve lived in Indy my whole life without coming here. Can’t wait to return!

I’ve made it a MUST to come eat here every time I’m in Indianapolis. I travel for work & the Nayarit style mariscos are a rare breed only found in select cities. Sad to say, but my home town of Dallas doesn’t have one… This place is great! Every dish I’ve had is full of flavor. If you like spicy this is also your place. If you don’t, that’s ok too just make sure and ask questions… Great food & service! My only complaint is that the owner had a colts jersey on. I’ll bring her a Cowboy jersey next time I’m in town.

Hey! What a pleasant surprise it was to stumble upon this place. Came in with my son while waiting for new tires next door. Ordered a Shrimp Chimichanga for myself, and a quesadilla for my son. My waitress was very friendly, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. The food was so good, and plated beautifully. The only thing(well, two things) keeping me from giving this place 5 stars is that the kids quesadilla said it came with fries and rice, but we only received fries. The menu also said that my chimichanga would come with guacamole, but there was none. I am always disappointed when my order is not as described on the menu. My son loves rice, and I ended up feeding him mine. It was a pretty small serving, and I would have liked to eat it myself. Aside from the menu confusion, this is a pretty good place and I will most likely be back if I am in the area.

I would of taken photos but my meal was gone to fast! I was not as adventurous as some and ordered the enchiladas del mer. Yum excellent food and good margarita. I would come back. Note this is a very Hispanic resturant the servers are not very fluent and the menu is in spanish. Also no chips or salsa is served when you sit down. So worth it though. Ambience is lacking but typical for an American mexican resturant.

My Mexican friends recommended this restaurant since I dislike somewhat usual Americanized Mexican food. We ordered a shrimp taco and a fish ceviche tostada as appetizers, liked them! We also had a filete nayarite, LOVED it! Very tender and fresh fish filet which is large and tasty, the rice it comes was fantastic! I thanked my friends for introducing me to one good restaurant. You can get average staples like Enchiladas, Chimichanga, and Burritos for about $ 10.00 but if you want to try their seafood entrée you may expect to spend over $ 20.00 per each entrée.

Worst experience ever!!! I ordered the Langostinos and I swear these langostinos where anorexic. I pretty much was served langostino shells with fries drenched in oil. When I made my server aware he told the owner and all we got was an apology stating that the merchandise they received was not what they expected. We had to pay full price for something that was half there. I will NEVER return to this location. I will stick to going to El puerto de San Blas. There lucky to get at least 1 star. Only because no star is not an option.

Went because I got a $ 25 certificate(more on that later). Love seafood, so was interested to check this place out. FOOD: Very good, and worthy of 4 stars for a casual diner, I’d say. They serve almost exclusively seafood, and the stuff we got was good. Like the reviewer below, we got the Molcajete Korita(seafood stew served in a hot stone bowl) and it was AWESOME. TONS of food(plenty for 2 — 3 people to share), and we’d probably get it again. We also got a large plate of shrimp ceviche(and the plate was HUGE!). A small ceviche would probably be enough for most parties of 2 — 4. We also tried another seafood dish to share(sorry I forgot the name), and it was darn good. So on the whole, the food is quite good… very up to par. SERVICE: Quite good. We were greeted and seated promptly, got our drinks quickly(margaritas…good, but pretty standard stuff), and got our food quickly. The only snafu was that they’d never dealt with a mobile certificate before, so kept insisting I had to bring a printed copy of the certificate. This isn’t true, of course(and I’ve used mobile certificates at many other restaurants), so I sat there for over 20 min while they tried to figure it out. Ultimately, we clicked through the verification process together at my table, but the certificate then disappeared from my account before they could write down the code. They ultimately gave me a $ 25 discount anyway(which I really appreciated), and I’ll return again for that reason. I just wish they would’ve been up to date on the technology, as I’m sure many people come there with the certificates, and cell phones are obviously a much easier way than printing. Overall, we enjoyed the dinner very much and will return — this time with a printed certificate, lol! The service was good, people were kind, other diners were having fun, and the food was great.

Very good food. I was glad I remembered bit of my college Spanish. None of the employees working that day spoke much English. On the other hand, the menu contains good English descriptions and pictures, so you can definitely get by if you know no Spanish. Before the meal we were presented with a small cup of a tasty soup and some tostada-type shells and moderately spicy tomatillo salsa for dipping. We started our order with Shrimp ceviche and it had a perfect flavor and texture. The portions here are not small and that was definitely true of the ceviche. The«small» was fine for two. I had grilled langostinos for an entrée. The taste was very good and the portion size was large, but the langostinos themselves were on the small size and it took some work to get them from the shell with the large fork I was given. Have to admit I resorted to chewing the meat from the shells when nobody was looking. Good spice and execution, though. Reminded me of some I had on the beach in Acapulco many years ago. My wife had a stuffed filet of fish that was lightly sautéed and smothered with a shrimp and veggie mixture and cheese. It was very good — but huge. Margaritas were an electric green from the sweet and sour mix. Not strong and not cheap. The server was very pleasant but she was handling the whole(small) dining room herself so things moved a bit slowly. Overall, we enjoyed it and will be back — but will order beer and less food. If there had been better drinks, more help and a bit lower price, I would have given 4 stars.

La Casa exclusively offers seafood items. I’d never been to a Mexican place like this before, and I’m super happy I went. Going in we were realllllly skeptical as this location changes names… A LOT.(Still missin’ ya, Caracas Arepas!) Also there were not a lot of reviews online, and we all know how easy seafood is to get wrong. Anyway screw logic and eat here! Here’s why: The service: really friendly waitstaff who are bilingual and knowledgeable about the menu. Our waters(and beers) were always full and the staff wanted feedback on everything we ordered. Super attentive and super nice people. The atmosphere: casual and beachy. It’s a strip mall restaurant but there’s lots of windows and character inside. Music was loud but seemed appropriate. The food: For apps we ordered Shrimp Ceviche, guacamole, and oysters on the half shell(ostiones frescos en su concha). The ceviche was super fresh and super tasty. It was like pico de gallo with equal parts shrimp. I’ve certainly had better ceviche… but that was on a beach. We were craving ceviche and La Casa delivered! The guac was OK — fresh but not bursting with flavor like I like. The oysters, however, were perfect. Comparable to pricey sushi bars or steakhouses in Indy, I dare say. As entrees we shared Molcajete Korita(seafood stew served in a hot stone bowl), Filete Relleno, and a fish taco. Skip the tacos… they’re just OK. The Filete Relleno was good… but I’m not one to mix cheese with seafood. The Filete Relleno comes with a bunch of fries, which were surprisingly tasty. However, if you love seafood at a good cost, order the Molcajete Korita! Good lord, it was tasty. In the hot stone bowl was succulent crab legs, clams, shrimp, scallops, and oysters. Probably some other fish I couldn’t translate, too. Everything in the bowl was cooked perfectly and seasoned uniquely. Between three people we could not finish it. Really tasty for an Indiana Mexican seafood restaurant. Free stuff: Loved their take on chips and salsa: here it was pico de gallo with tostadas. You also get a sample of soup with a big ol’ shrimp(I guess?) in it. Mine was cooked perfectly and basically set the tone for the meal. Authenticity: No idea. I’ve been to Mexico, but only to touristy places. Judging by the clientele, however, I’d say this place resonates well with those seeking authentic Mexican food(ie not gringos who love stupid TexMex). La Casa appears to be doing just fine despite no big online presence. On the Saturday night we went in, there were maybe 2 tables not occupied. In closing: tasty food at a good price, and I don’t know any other restaurant that sells this kind of food in Indy. It’s not seafood that’s going to change your life, but check it out!
