What can I say ever since I was a little girl I just loved to skate. IWSA is s great place to get some good ice time and the people and atmosphere are wonderful. Nothing better then to sip some hot chocolate and hit the ice young and old a like . Its a great place to meet people and have a few laughs while doing some people watching.

I am so happy to have found a skating rink in Indiana! Very regular skating rink with a friendly security person on the ice. The hours are a bit weird and I wish there was a concession stand open or at least a water fountain(you just get so thirsty skating round and round!), but overall, it was really fun!

I’ve gone curling here as well as ice skating. Such a ton of fun at this place. No one ever thinks about it as a date place, but try an early dinner downtown and then go ice skating here… much better than a movie and not very expensive.

What a blast! What do you do when it’s to hot to take the kids to the zoo or the park and they are driving you bonkers? ICESKATING!!! We had so much fun during the open skate. The cool air was so refreshing. And of course there were giggles gallore when someone would bust their booty on the ice. All around fun time.

God, I love this place. Every time I come down here, I wonder: 1) why I don’t come more often and 2) why more people don’t come in the summer. Yes, that’s right – this rink is open year round. I understand people don’t necessarily think to ice skate in the summer, but for real, it’s awesome! You can come in out of the heat and get a bit of Christmas-in-July action. Being a pale, northerly type myself, I find that taste of winter most welcome in the sweltering dog days of summer. And I can’t be a complete anomaly, since the rink is, after all, doing well enough to remain operative twelve months out of the year. Public skating hours vary seasonally; see the website for a complete schedule. At just $ 4 for admission and $ 3 for skate rental for adults(children and seniors pay less), this is one of the cheapest and healthiest thrills money can buy. If you’re serious about your winter sports, this is a good one-stop shop for all things icy. They offer figure skating lessons and private ice rental for curling and broomball(whatever that is), and the Pan Am Pro Shop will help you out with equipment purchases or repairs. The Skating Academy is also home to the Circle City Sirens, Indianapolis’s oldest women’s hockey team. Wicked! I prefer this rink to the Pepsi Coliseum because the temperature is kept lower – I like a brisk air for my skate. Do with that as you will.

This is a great spot to take the kids for some fun public ice skating! Watch all the kids spin and do tricks … they have NOFEAR! It’s so much fun to ice skate … and make a fool of yourself. But the best part, in my opinion, is people watching. Check out all the old DUDES who are on the ice doing the moves. Slick, dude, so slick.
