We got married at Hillcrest in October 2013(sorry for the delayed review!). We’re not«country club people», although it didn’t really have that vibe. I loved the look of the upstairs ballroom – almost a Spanish influence with stucco-esque walls, fire places, wrought iron fixtures, and gorgeous windows. Things that won us over: –Pretty friendly to our budget: we had about 120 guests, and the size of the room(and thus price) were perfect –Food tasting: We were able to bring four guests to a large group tasting that included every couple getting married within a few month span, and they cooked almost everything on the menu for the groups to try. This was so nice compared to the typical model of choosing only a few things to sample. –Flexibility: Rather than a cake, we had a few hundred mini desserts made by a local vendor, and Hillcrest was helpful in figuring out how to display them. We also had a hot cider bar that they let us set up ourselves. They were cool with the decorations we brought(candles, live plants, sparklers for outside, etc.). –Day of accommodations: We arrived in the morning and got ready for the wedding in their(fancy, carpeted, had a bar…) locker rooms, which were comfortable and had everything we needed. –Photo ops: The area afforded us gorgeous trees, cool patterns/textures inside and outside the building, and great outdoor space for large family photos. Despite being on a golf course, our pictures did not look like they were taken from the green, and we didn’t have any trouble running into any golfers. They also gave us a golf cart to drive around in to get to different spots. –Alcohol pricing: We were able to choose to pay a flat rate per person or to pay per drink(which, based on our guest list, was the better decision). This saved a ton of money. Throughout the planning, I was occasionally concerned about some professionalism issues. The worst thing that happened was that literally one week before we got married, we were informed that the wedding coordinator(Brooke) had left to take a new job and that another staff member would be taking over our event. We felt like a lot more advanced notice could have been provided. Still, everything went off without a hitch. Someone less OCD than me might not even care, but my advice would be to make sure you’re very on top of dates, contract issues, etc. I was very pleased with our decision to choose Hillcrest. Our friends and family had a great time, and many complimented Hillcrest on its style, easy parking, and great food.

We had my daughter’s wedding reception there. We had 200 people and they did a fantastic job. Our friends are still commenting to us about how good the food was at dinner and what a great space they had for the outdoor cocktail party. The golf course also provided a great setting for wedding pictures. We recommend it highly.

Beautiful course. Food was ok but I was told they had a pastry chef. He should ask his culinary school for his money back… Pastries were dry and tasteless. Bread would have been better if bought at village pantry.

After viewing and researching several wedding venues, we found Hillcrest. We immediately fell in love. From the architecture to the food to the wonderful Event Coordinator, Brooke. She was great to work with, gave expert advice and helped make our day run smoothly. The ballroom is very classy with wooden beams on the ceiling, several huge arched windows, fireplaces and chandeliers. It really makes for a great event space. The grounds were beautiful and we utilized them for pictures. We have received so many compliments from our guests about the venue, food and drink! Everyone was very happy! We would definitely recommend this venue for your future events.
