French Pharmacie Salon

I’ve been seeing Amanda for a monthly massage for the past 3 to 4 years, and she is wonderful! Not only is she knowledgeable and skilled, she takes the time to listen to what problem areas I’m having (and manages to find some I didn’t even know I had!). My posture and back flexibility have improved significantly since seeing her, and I get far fewer migraines resulting from tension headaches.
Cost-​wise, I would say it’s about average for what you would expect to pay for a good massage in the area ($ 80 plus tip). It is so well worth it when I think about some of the horrible, cheaper massages I’ve received when I was trying to save a buck (one got my hair caught in the table, another rubbed my scalp until my hair felt like sandpaper shearing my skin off…). In other words, Amanda is awesome and worth more than what she currently charges :)
I should add that I’ve never been to the salon part of the business, so I don’t have anything to add there. The front desk staff are always very nice, friendly, and welcoming.

I came here recommended from a friend for the stylist Joey and she was amazing! She brightened my hair exactly the way I wanted and informed me about good products for upkeep. She chatted with me the whole time like we were best friends AND I mentioned my nails were looking a bit subpar these days. She got me a manicure lined up right my hair no questions asked. I had Margret for my nails who was amazing and gave me a coconut scrub. She gave me the full run down on vinyl and gel nails and they looked great after. THEN it gets better, after chatting the staff offered to let me try the massage bed while my nails dried. This bed is great! The staff and interior design make you feel so welcomed. I can’t say enough about this shabby chic wonderful place!

This place is wonderful. Having curly hair that is healthy, looks good, and feels great no matter what style I try, is all the proof I need that there is no other hair stylist in Indy that knows how to work my hair. Trust me, I’ve been to quite a few, but Danny is the master.
Nestled in the heart of Broad Ripple, French Pharmace, is modern meets elegance. All the friendly smiling faces, make you feel right at home. The hair wash is also a really critical part of the overall hair experience, and this place has some of the most gentle hands to hold my head. Plus it’s always been easy to schedule, and they do believe in text reminders as well as follow-​up phone calls (like when I accidentally hit cancel instead of confirm).
I’ve already booked my next appointment, and highly recommend this place for your hair needs.

I went to French Pharmacie for the first time today to cut/​donate my hair. Karla was fantastic and really calmed my nerves. She made me feel completely comfortable with making such a big change and knew what she needed to do to cut/​gather my hair to make sure it would work for the donation. I’ll definitely be back!

I went to the French Pharmacie for the first time this morning to have my hair cut by Sebastian. I was definitely not disappointed in my experience. I was immediately offered a drink while I waited for Sebastian to be ready for me — I only waited about 5 minutes, which was no biggie. Sebastian was great! He listened to what I wanted (a pixie cut) and was very patient with me as I gave him my preferences along the way. He tamed my wicked cowlick (seriously it’s a beast) and didn’t mind me being picky about it. He gave me some suggestions on products for dealing with the issues that I’ve been having with hard water dryness. I bought some «Oi Oil,» and he told me that if I didn’t like it; to bring it back and we would swap it out and try something else. I’m usually hesitant to try salon products on the chance that I hate them and end up having wasted money. I’m happy to know that if I hate it, I’m not stuck with it. Pricing was fair, especially given the time and attention that I received. Will definitely be returning soon for a (free) bang/​neck trim and for my next cut! I’ve lived in Indy for almost a year and am thrilled to have finally found a salon that I want to return to!

I’m new to the area and was nervous about finding a new hair stylist — especially with curly hair that does what it wants, when it wants. I was scheduled with Sarah and am SO happy I was. Leaving the salon was the first time I ever actually liked how a stylist styled my hair. Sarah is super friendly and left with a cut I love and new tips for drying my hair. She’s a must for curly hair gals! I already have my next appointment booked!

Went to the pharmacie for the first time last night for a much needed pedicure. I haven’t had one for a year (I’ve just done my own), and in preparation for a beach vacation and being pregnant I decided to treat myself to a pedicure. I arrived and found the décor really beautiful, and staff was really friendly. I was taken upstairs to the body work/​nail area, and picked my color. The chair was really comfortable, with plenty of new magazines for my reading pleasure. My technician was super nice (I can’t remember her name, I’m a terrible person), and wasn’t overly chatty, just the right amount. I was able to chat a bit, and read the latest trash rags (people magazine) for my pop culture updates. The experience was great, and I will be going back for sure, probably sooner than a year from now!

I had Heather, one of the owners, cut my hair yesterday. I used to wait to get my haircut when I go back home in South Korea for long breaks (I’m studying abroad), where I believe have awesome hair stylists who understand asian hair way better (obviously). And I am the pickest person in the world and hated most of hair experience here in the US (indy, chicago, LA)
But after havig self styling frustrations of several weeks since I haven’t had a haircut for forever, and my hair was getting really puffy and ugly trapezoid shape at the end, I decided to give a try here. My professor has been a loyal customer over 10 yrs here, and no wonder, Heather was GREAT. Understood my hair and my needs without a hassle. She was like, I got this ;) and oh my, she totally did.
Though I am student and it cost little more than what I normally pay, It worth EVERY penny. As soon as I got my haircut, I ran straight to the front and booked my next appointment with her for haircut& color & highlight and they gave me a good deal for getting them all at one appointment.
I CAN’T WAIT TO GO BACK!
I just need to eat less now so I can save for my hair.

My stylist has always been Megan. She’s amazing. Always on time, super easy to converse with, great at color, and always makes me feel pretty.!The price is right. The ambiance is modern and cool. The other staff members are always lovely and kind. I feel very comfortable and at home here. I have always felt comfortable to recommend this to anyone. Whether that be friends, family or complete strangers. This place is a gem in the city and I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else.

I had a massage today by Amanda at The French Pharmacie. She did a superb job. She listened when I told her my problem areas. She noticed when there were trouble spots and took extra care to relieve the area. I would say that Amanda by far gave me the best massage I’ve ever had.

Let me start by saying how adorable this salon is. Tucked away off Broad Ripple’s busy main street it has a very inviting atmosphere.
I received a gift certificate and decided to use it for a gel mani. First time for this type of mani and first time here! Upstairs is very relaxing and the service was great. I am a week into my manicure and it is holding up great (and I have been rough on my hands)!
I have not had any other services here but I would love to go back! Hoping for another gift card for Christmas :))

Okay. Maybe not Anyone/​Everyone. But he is the best when it comes to making my dull, fine locks spring full of life and texture. For years I was told, «Abbey, your hair won’t do a swoop bang.» I’ve left salons in the past, only to pull out the scissors upon arriving home, eventually pouring a drink after attempting to ‘fix’ what went wrong. Never with Danny!
I always leave pleased and feeling pampered. The environment of French Phramacie is calm and perfectly decorated. The products they carry are also fantastic. I bought a sea salt spray that smells wonderful and adds great texture and volume. Go here! Do it now!

I love the upstairs area for Spa treatments! I booked a Mani-​Pedi before my vacation/SIL’s wedding. The upstairs addition is quite relaxing. Plus my gel manicure lasted my evite vacation through El Salvador and Florida! With as much beach and pool time add I logged, that’s an accomplishment.
Not only have I had soda treatments here, I’ve also had a color, bang trims and eyebrow waxes and well. All services have always been great. My last service was a color with Adrianna, I got my ombré redone and it turned out fabulous. She did a great job, was super personable and I still love my hair. Thanks again French Pharmacie!

From the moment you walk in you notice the atmosphere … in a good way. It’s not chaotic, the music isn’t overpowering, the staff is always friendly without being over the top or seeming fake. The prices are reasonable (it is a bit of a splurge for me personally but totally worth it). My stylist is Megan M. and she’s always pleasant and down to earth. She doesn’t try to force conversation (which is one of my biggest pet peeves at a salon) but is very easy to converse with if you wnat to. She also doesn’t try to force products down your throat and won’t try to talk you into anything you don’t need so I trust her opinion completely. The only bad thing I can say is that, with it being in Broad Ripple, the parking can sometimes be a nightmare.

French Pharmacie helped me pull off a surprise spa day for my girlfriend prior to us getting engaged. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful from the beginning, and I was very impressed with their prompt responses. They even stayed open later than business hours to make our day special.
My fiancé was very pleased with her massage and loved her facial. It was the best facial she’s ever received! They also did a great mani/​pedi and hair and make-​up. We were very happy with everything. The prices were fair, and the staff was so excited to be a part of our day! Highly recommend this place!

Heather is one of very few people who can properly cut my insanely thick hair. My hair always looks amazing and elicits tons of compliments when she’s done with it. When I first met her, my hair was damaged from over processing and very dry and straw-​like. Heather councelled me on styling and product use and after she cut away the damaged hair, it has stayed healthy ever since. She really knows her stuff! Plus she’s really nice!

Visited French Pharmacie Salon last week and it was an amazing experience. Such a talented group of stylists.

Let’s talk nails first:
I received one of the best manicures and pedicures I have ever received. Katie was meticulous! There were times that I forgot I was getting my nails done because I was so relaxed and she was so gentle and thorough. I’ll be back the next time I need my fingers & toes polished… or whenever I need to escape into a peaceful, well-​appointed environment for a bit of pampering! The price is right: $ 55 for a mani/​pedi that lasts.
Now, let’s talk hair/​make-​up next:
I entrusted my wedding day ‘do with the French Pharmacie team. We had some scheduling glitches (aka I called to confirm my hair trial and was told that they forgot), but they eventually got worked out thanks to Kate the make-​up artist /​front desk coordinator’s efforts. My hair trial & make-​up trial were free — and thank goodness because my hair fell before I left the driveway. On the wedding day, our up-do’s held up (for the most part), but a few more pins or hairspray would have been beneficial.
And finally, let’s talk décor:
The décor is drool-​worthy. It is simple, serene and modern. I want to move in, to be quite honest. ;) Its gorgeous! The Spa at French Pharmacie is the ideal place for a group of gals or gents to prepare for a special event.
In a nutshell:
Excellent place for nails. I’ll go elsewhere for hair, but in a bind I’d be game to give French Pharmacie another shot.
