Fountainview Inn

OK, I stayed here while the huge Comic Convention was downtown, and it was pretty much the only hotel left. I was a little weary, because people had said it wasn’t in a great neighborhood. Well, I’m from Chicago, and this place and neighborhood were great!
The building is vintage and restored, but the best part are all the amazing details that were left. The old school elevators, the special key to get to the rooms (they are only on one floor of the building) and the personal hospitality,
I loved it, and the rooms were like apartments. Huge living room, separate bedroom, great bathroom & kitchen. Downtown was a straight shot, and the neighborhood itself is being restored, but not just new building, but keeping the great architecture. Loved it, loved the people, and if I ever went back I would stay again in a heartbeat.
