What a great event! I was happy to check out the wonderful galleries, listen to some great music and(of course) have some Sun King! There were all different types of people here: some where dressed up nice for a night on the town and others came more casual in jeans. Anyone would feel comfortable coming to Final Fridays. I think this is a great way to get people to the museum who have shied away either because of cost or they don’t «get» art. It made coming to the museum a fun experience. Not being an art aficionado, I still felt right at home checking out the galleries alongside hipsters and girls in berets. The only downside was that I didn’t have enough time! I saved the gallery I wanted to go into for last, and right as I was walking in, one of the employees told me it was lights out. NOOOOOOO!!! I was super disappointed, but it was my bad because I thought galleries were open until midnight. FYI, they close at 10 so hit your fave art first, or come early so you have plenty of time to sip. Just a personal note: the more you drink, the more the abstract art makes sense! Beer and wine were available for a decent price, so drink up while taking in all the sights and sounds the museum has to offer.

Ever wish First Friday was every Friday? Well, now you have one more monthly chance to stuff yourself full of art, culture, and great company. We were on a tight schedule, so we only got to experience the first hour of Final Fridays, but I really liked what I saw. It was really nice to unwind, after a very long week in the office, by roaming around the galleries and having a beer, or two. I will definitely be checking this out again. Thanks for hosting, IMA!

I think the event idea sounds great, but I didn’t find it enjoyable. I love going to the IMA and I ended up just going through the exhibits as normal. The drinks and food were pricey. $ 8 for 5 pieces of sushi. yikes. If you wanted any of the pricey food/drinks you had to wait in a long long line. I think it would make more sense to have one line for food and one line for drinks OR one line for beer/wine and one line for mixed drinks. The atmosphere was fun. I didn’t really care for the music. It’s not my style. Otherwise, I didn’t really know what to do with myself. I will continue to support the IMA!
