Since the take over of Netflix, Redbox, and Hulu I’m sure it’s difficult for a place like this to stay in business. But now I see why it can(the deals). I signed up for a membership today(free if you give them your number and address). Just for signing up, your rentals your first month are half off. So we’ll be back back just about every time we return something this month. You can’t beat cheaper than Redbox. She seemed like the manager, but the employee was very nice and showed us around the store: Kids can get free rentals, new releases and tv series for $ 3. I think the new releases are a bit pricy but for my first month it’s great according to competitor prices. They have 2 for $ 1 rentals. Games are charged per night. Candy 2 for $ 3. I’m thinking what will get me the most is the 2 for $ 1 rentals. I can have them up to 5 days. yeah Redbox might be cheaper, but since I live so close I might as well get everything there. And Redbox is new releases for the most part. I’m glad I signed up!

Since the Death of the video stores I was pleasantly surprised on how great this chain is. They have major title along with some lower budget movies. I can count on 1 hand the times I’ve gone to get a new major release and it was not in stock. Their game section is solid with all the major systems being covered. They usually get them the same day they are released. They have free kids movies and $ 1 older releases for renting. The ½ off deal is awesome! It’s $ 10 a month but everything you rent is half off. If you rent games this is an amazing deal. The staff is always friendly.

Love the friendly staff here and how they always greet you when you walk through the door. The place always seems well staffed and clean.

Great staff that somehow always seem like they actually want to be at work while wearing ties and dresses to put away movies.

My feelings are still pretty hurt over the fact that they closed the closest location to me in Beech Grove, but Family Video is still my favorite chain of video rental stores. When Netflix hasn’t delivered a good movie, it’s worth the drive over to the Thompson Road location. I like Family Video better than Blockbuster and Hollywood Video because they seem to take a more personal approach — the employees are friendly, they keep my account on file and active even though I haven’t used it regularly in a few years, the prices are decent, and they also offer older movies and children’s movies as free rentals. So, yes, it truly is a ‘Family’ video store, especially since this location doesn’t have one of their famous porn rooms. That was always the best — walking into a Family Video that had a wonderfully huge selection of porn! :)
