My review is going to be biased because I work here, so keep that in mind! The FHCCI is a new-ish nonprofit, advocacy organization that opened its doors in the English Foundation building in January 2012. Since then, it’s helped served hundreds of clients that felt that they were discriminated against in housing transactions, helped spread the word about and educate the public about fair housing laws to thousands of individuals, and has held their annual fair housing conference in April to celebrate Fair Housing Month. Their services are free so if you’re looking for educational materials, non-legal advice, or some items to decorate your apartment complex office with fair housing-related materials, give them a call! The name says that they serve central Indiana, but don’t hesitate to call if you’re out of the service area. If they cannot be of assistance, they’ll direct and refer you to the appropriate organization to better serve you. It’s a small staff that works hard to help eliminate housing discrimination in the central Indiana area! A nonprofit that greatly deserves your attention and donation if you’re looking to give back to a local nonprofit!
