I will never in my lifetime understand why Cracker Barrel is so popular. I’ve been to 3 different locations(including this one, which was the best one), and the food is just gross. I literally have no idea why everyone loves it. I’ve had a burger(lukewarm, hard/rubbery, and tasteless), ice cream sundae(nasty frozen fruit topping and bland ice cream), and pancakes/sausage(blahhhhh). Hoosiers seem to like mildly seasoned food, so maybe that’s why everyone loves it. I don’t know. If you like old people food, I guess it is alright. On the bright side, the store is cute.

For years, Cracker Barrel has been on my restaurant bucket list and I was so excited to see there was one right next to the hotel we were staying at! We dropped in for lunch and I went with a classic country friend steak combo. It was tasty. Not the best I’ve ever had but definitely good. The combo of mashed potatoes and gravy, macaroni and cheese, and broccoli paired with the entrée nicely. Their sweet tea was also delicious. The portion was actually so big that my wife was okay just ordering a lunch salad and sharing my meal with me. Didn’t really spend much time shopping around their general store but I loved the environment and thought it made for a great experience. I was also really impressed with the niceness of the staff although I’m not sure if that was a Cracker Barrel thing or an Indiana thing since everyone we seem to be meeting here is pretty nice haha.

This location is right around the corner from my office and a good lunch spot especially when I want a light breakfast! I really like their fruit and yogurt parfait breakfast. That includes a yummy yogurt parfait, eggs and turkey bacon. The fact that it’s 500 calories is a huge bonus! My other fav is the Fresh Start Sampler that includes the BEST blueberry muffin I’ve ever had.

Came here to eat with my daughter and wife. My server wasn’t all that good but the food was good. I had french toast scrambled eggs and bacon and it wasn’t bad at all

Server was from Ft Wayne restaurant so wasn’t familiar with item choices and platters in Indy. Think our platters sat under the heat lights too long or server got my egg order wrong(over cooked/inedible). I always feel uneasy w/servers who do not bother to write down our order but rather rely on their memory… Never turns out 100% right… at least not for us.

6 o’clock in the evening on a Sunday one of their busiest days and they have no mashed potatoes. And we waited 15 minutes to be told that

I bought the country style ham & I honestly thought that my blood pressure was at an all time high. I swear they salt the country style ham with the same stuff they use to melt the ice on I-465 with.

In another review about Cracker Barrel, someone wrote that«if you’ve been to one Cracker Barrel, you’ve been to them all.» I have to agree, in the kindest way possible. This location, like the several other locations I’ve visited, has good country food, excellent coffee, interesting and homey décor and friendly, prompt service. If I don’t get breakfast, I usually get the meatloaf and mashed potatoes — my favorite. Their biscuits are good, too, and they serve them with real butter(yay!).

A word to the wise: wear stretchy pants. I swear I’m only going to eat a little every time I go in Cracker Barrel. I REALLY need to stop deceiving myself, LOL. Cracker Barrel is just everything that I love about good, old-fashioned, homestyle cooking. Don’t bother going if you’re counting calories or notches on your belt buckle. Cracker Barrel aims to please the palate, not the scale. My favorite dish has to be the fried catfish. It’s perfectly crispy on the outside and super-duper moist on the inside. They serve it hot out of the grease(it’s DEEP-FRIED!!!) and bring it right to your table. Add a little fresh-squeezed lemon juice and you might as well open your eyes in heaven. The servers are quite friendly and warm. They remind me of that favorite aunt who always sneaks one extra biscuit on your plate at dinner time. I just love them. If you’re looking for a place for leisurely meal or a Sunday feast, Cracker Barrel is the place for you. Meet me there next summer for a game of checkers on the patio — KINGME!

As a Californian, I have heard many a tale of this mythical«Cracker Barrel». As luck would have it, when I landed in Indy I wasn’t too far from one. The wife and I were both finally able to try the food at this storied restaurant. And they did not disappoint. You probably won’t win any bodybuilding competitions after leaving here, but you’ll be smiling as you put on that extra 20 pounds. The food was definitely good. And the service was great. Our server, the cashier, and all the other employees were super friendly and attentive. The food tasted homemade, which was a huge surprise to me considering this is a chain. We loved it and can’t wait to go back!

Campfire Beef. This was our choice based on the picture on the menu. The beef was tender, the potatoes were done, the carrots were pleasantly firm. The tomato and the onions provided flavor. All was cooked in aluminum foil somewhat like an All-American pot roast. My meal was topped off by the quintessential root beer — Stewarts — 16 oz. $ 12 + tip was a bargain. This a limited time entrée. Should be permanent menu item. Server was pleasant. Food came quickly. My best Cracker Barrel experience to date. This was N Michigan Ave in Indianapolis IN.

One is the same as all the others. It’s consistent… However, our server was a little slow

Good Home Cooking! I love Cracker Barrel when I am craving some good olé’ southern comfort food. I love the chicken dumplings, the mac’n’cheese, and the meatloaf. All in all is a exactly what I expect from a Cracker Barrel.

It’s Cracker Barrel, nothing more to say. Great good and quick service. The waitress was very tentative to our needs and more than happy to help. We had a wonderful meal on the road.

Editing this due to having extremely bad service the last 4 times in a row going to this location. The other Cracker Barrel on NE side of Indy has excellent food AND service. There is no reason why I shouldn’t give this place 5 stars with as many times as I’ve been there and enjoyed everything I have ever had, along with great service. Everything from the egg sandwiches to the burgers on sourdough bread are great. It can be a bit loud and cramped at times, but it has never been to the point where it bothered me. Absolutely love this place.

Excellent breakfast family favorite. Wonderful bacon, biscuits and gravy, grits, and cheesy potatoes. We have many fond memories of family sitting outside on the rocking chairs. Thank you Cracker Barrel for good home cooking!

Good old Cracker Barrel! How could you go wrong? The wait staff is always prompt and friendly. The food is always great and extremely affordable. This is normally our preferred breakfast stop! For my wife, daughter and I, it’s normally around $ 18. During the fall, I prefer the Sweet Potato Pancakes. On a regular basis, the Old Timer Breakfast is an excellent choice. The turkey sausage is much better than their regular sausage. The regular sausage is extremely dry. For dinner, the Chicken and Dumplings is a no brainer! We love this place when we travel, but are glad to have it close to home now. It is a frequent stop for us!

Visiting Indiana, I was taken, at long last, to a Cracker Barrel. And even though I took it easy, food-wise, what I had was great. What I had was a chicken salad sandwich, one of the best I’ve ever eaten. And a side of mac and cheese, which was excellent. But what I really wanted was the pancakes and the biscuits and gravy and everything else on the menu. If I’m back in Indiana, which I may well be, there will be no stopping me. I shall be a pig and then some. I shall eat until I want to vomit on the ground. And I’ll be happy about it.

I’d heard about the mystical Cracker Barrel when I lived in California. My best friend was from Michigan and worked there as a teenager. So when we got to Indy and there was a Cracker Barrel right around the corner from our house, I had to go. Man, their breakfasts are large and inexpensive. I typically enjoy everything I order… but biscuits. Man those are good! The best part of eating here is that my fiancé lets me wander around the store when we are done. I am such a sucker for classic Americana type stuff. It’s ridiculous.
