This is a Mexican grocery and with a ‘taco counter’ in the back. Though the grocery offerings seemed decent enough, this is really a review of the restaurant(such as it is). The food was actually quite good, but there are a couple«buts…». First off, the music was exceedingly loud and exceedingly terrible, even by Mexican restaurant standards. And second, what do you make of a restaurant where the bathroom is dirty, out of soap and paper towels, and looks like it’s been out of those things for as long as anyone can remember? Look, it’s no dirtier than a lot of similar places — and the crime of an ill-supplied bathroom is hardly one for which Las Palmas alone is guilty. But think about it: if there’s no soap in the bathroom, how often can the cooks be washing their hands? That said, the chicken I had was delicious and the price was right. It came with a generous portion of rice and delicious re-fried beans. The barbacoa looked fabulous. I’ll definitely be coming back — but I might bring my own hand sanitizer!
