I think this is as good as it gets for brunch in Indy. I’ve been to two locations and both were excellent. — Super fast, friendly service — VERY yummy cinnamon butter toast with most(or all?) dishes — Fluffy and perfect omelettes

One of my favorite brunch places. Everything is high quality but the drinks seem overpriced. But if you go on Sunday prepare to wait for 30 – 45 minutes.

Patachou is an Indianapolis novelty for a reason. If you’re looking for brunch options in Indy, you’d be hard-pressed to find something better than Patachou. I had the Bacon and Avocado Broken Yolk sandwich as well as the Croissant French Toast — both were incredible. The Broken Yolk sandwish, as you’ll read in nearly every other Unilocal review, is an amazing concoction of an egg over-easy on thick-cut sourdough bread made in-house with your choice of additional toppings. The bacon and avocado were incredible additions, giving a little more taste to process. The croissant french toast was absolutely phenomenal; it’s soaked overnight in cream and egg to really let the bread and liquids mix well, and it’s unbelievably good. I got sides of fruit and greens with my plates. Perhaps the best part of Patachou is the menu variety; you can get anything from a vegan omelette to a plate of french toast that would scare a Vegan halfway across the planet. Most of Patachou’s ingredients are locally sourced as well, with the exception of produce that our cold climate can’t provide during the winter months. I had the pleasure of meeting with Christina and Maddy, two brand managers with Patachou, who explained the ins and outs of its nearly 30-year lifespan and got me better acquainted with the other restaurants under their brand. I’ll definitely be back to Patachou in the future; its close proximity to the Downtown area combined with excellent breakfast and attentive staff is a combination that you won’t find many other places.

This brunch place is so awesome. I love brunch and Café Patachou was no exception. When I arrived at Patachou with my mom, it was busy, but not incredibly busy where we had to wait to get seated. We were presented a menu that I thought was a little overwhelming at first, but once I settled in and looked at the menu, it was actually more awesome than overwhelming. So many things looked so good, so it was hard to choose just one thing, so I ended up getting three things with my mom. We ordered a bacon and avocado broken yolk sandwich, a custom built omelette, and a stuffed cinnamon french toast. When the food arrived, I did order three items for only two people, but the portion sizes were more than I was expecting. When all the food came out, I knew I was going to be presented with a challenge of finishing a lot of this food since my mom doesn’t eat a whole lot. My omelette was actually a lot better than I thought it was going to be. It’s nice that putting avocado in as a filling doesn’t cost extra like it would at other places, and so I opted for that, white cheddar, and potatoes. It came with toast and I was given the cinnamon toast option, and little did I know that it was really similar to the stuffed cinnamon french toast that I ordered, but it was really good. It didn’t take long before I demolished the entire thing. Next in line, was about half of my mom’s bacon and avocado broken yolk sandwich, which was really good as well. For«dessert» essentially, was the stuffed cinnamon french toast. It was interesting to have the ricotta cheese with the sweet cinnamon sugar and maple syrup, but it wasn’t bad at all, it was quite delicious. I overall enjoyed all the food so much, and I would definitely come back when I visit Indianapolis!

I met a friend at one of his downtown favorites. This little brunch nook is nestled into the street level floor of the beautiful Simon building. Parking was rough midday on a Wednesday, so I went into the Circle Centre Mall and quickly found a spot(total cost for parking was $ 2). Five minutes of walking and I was opening the north facing doors. I was greeted when I entered the modern dining room by a friendly(but not over enthusiastic), «Welcome,» loads of natural light streaming from the span of glass windows, and a room half full of happy patrons at light wood tables. The service was friendly and quick and my chicken salad sandwich was tasty. The bread stayed dry rather than getting soggy(a problem of many such sammies) and the chicken salad was a smooth blend of flavors with a fine texture. It came with a side of chips(read Lays original) and a pickle spear. My friend ordered an omelette which looked wonderfully light and fluffy!

Patachou on the Park is a trendy & vibrant café on the ground floor of an office building directly across from the Indiana State Capitol Building. It’s the perfect spot for a nice breakfast, brunch, or lunch for business, with friends, or just for yourself. I was the latter and since the menu had so many tempting choices, I ended up getting two of Patachou’s brunch favorites and pigging out by myself. All I can say in defense is that the food was indeed yummy and oink oink. * California Dreamer Omelette with a side of the Cinnamon Toast and Fresh Fruit No substitutions are allowed on the«named» omelletes at Patachou and with this one you won’t need to thanks to the blend of soft Sour Cream & fresh Avocado with White Cheddar Cheese and fresh Jalapeños. * Croissant French Toast Patachou with a side of Breakfast Potatoes Flattened beyond recognition, but still delicious, these lived up to sweet expectations thanks to Powdered Sugar and Sugared Pecans No matter what you get, be sure to order the Cinnamon Toast if you love cinnamon. They were the highlight of the brunch and by far most memorable. Loved the thick dust of cinnamon on the plain white bread. I’d easily order the same again, but I’m also eager to try one of the Broken Yolk Sandwiches. The menu will have something for everyone. Next time, I hope to bring friends to try even more of the popular Patachou palate pleasers, otherwise, I’ll probably go all oink-oink again.

No joke, one of the best hot chocolates I’ve ever had. HUGE cup of delicious, creamy French chocolate with whipped cream. SOGOOD. I had something with local sausage, eggs, etc. Clearly, I need to go back and try more things so I can write a longer review! Overall, it’s a bit pricey(compared to some of my hole in the wall favorites), but you get what you pay for. Martha Hoover has built her restaurant empire on quality ingredients, comfortable ambiance, and chic locations. Makes sense!

Trendy and fun, this busy breakfast spot may not have been the best choice for a relaxing Mother’s Day brunch. HA! But otherwise, the food was yummy. And who doesn’t love a broken egg sammy? Loved the coffee bar and serving myself, which may mean I stand in line on a busy Sunday morning, but otherwise it’s a great excuse to get up and walk around and mingle. Most likely you’ll see someone you know. Service was OK, but acceptable, and the other menu items looked delicious. I may go back again, but def not on Mom’s Day Out.

Very good. If we lived here, we’d dine here often. The Cuban breakfast was fantastic. The cinnamon stuffed French toast weren’t as mind-blowing as the other reviews suggest. Big portions, good stuff, fast table turnover. When we arrived, there were 20 people waiting for a table and we were worried it would take a long time. It took less than 10 minutes to get seated. Fast service. Pretty good coffee. All in all, really liked Café Patachou.

I love Patachou, it is probably my favorite place in town. I often want to come here everyday for breakfast or brunch and order my meat and potato omelette. I purposely come during the off hours just to beat the rush or come at the end of the rush, as this place can get really crowded and you’ll have a 15 – 20 minute wait to be seated. The food always comes in a timely manner and I have yet to be disappointed with the different dishes that I have had. Also, nothing beats their cinnamon sourdough toast, especially if the sourdough has just been freshly baked! I definitely like the atmosphere here, and the servers are great. Everything is always very clean. I also like the self-serve coffee stations.

Patachou is one of my favorite brunch/lunch places when I come home to visit Indy. We usually visit the downtown location in the Simon building. My go to is the Hippie with a Benz, which is an omelet with spinach, feta, mushrooms and tomatoes. I usually ask for egg whites and add turkey with cinnamon toast and fruit. I’ve tried pretty much everything on the menu and you can’t go wrong. The food is always consistent and the price is beyond reasonable. Depending on what kind of day you’re having, they offer pitchers mimosa… YES! I would also recommend the turkey chili and the tuna salad sandwich… Soooooo delicious! The waiters/waitress are pretty hip and always provide good service. As an Indiana native, I highly recommend visiting it will be well worth it.

We were staying nearby, at the Hyatt, and had heard this was the best breakfast place around. On our way to the restaurant a guy on the street told us the wait was 45 minutes long and that he was going somewhere else. I’m glad our party decided to stick it out and stay for breakfast because it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a while! The restaurant was completely packed with Colts fans and a few Texans fans waiting for the 1pm game to start. We got there at 9:30. There was only a 25 minute wait and free coffee while you waited. We were decked out in Texans gear and the host was teasing us while we waited in a friendly way. When we were seated I ordered the French Hot Chocolate. OMG, it was like dessert. Seriously, so creamy and chocolately. I need to go back for more! Our server was polite and asked if we had any questions about the menu. Two people got the Cuban breakfast(black beans, rice, avocado, eggs, cheese and pesto jalapeño). It was awesome! Another person got the Overachiever omelet and he commented repeatedly how it was the fluffiest omelet he’s had. That came with really delicious cinnamon toast. I got the waffle and it was good. I wish I’d been more adventurous and tried one of the broken yolk sandwiches. They sounded amazing and they had so many options to build your own breakfast sandwich! I think I counted 9 different types of cheese. Fabulous! Patachou was well worth our wait, for the food and the friendly service! I also love that they help feed underprivileged kids in Indy!

It has been a very long time since I’ve been back to Patachou so when I had an opportunity this past weekend, I couldn’t say no. Patachou is an Indianapolis staple, one of the most popular breakfast destinations in the downtown area for good reason. As you expect, its BUSY nearly all morning on the weekends. The wait this past weekend was around 40 minutes for a table of 4 and much longer for bigger tables. If you’re dining by yourself, you’ll be able to eat at the bar with no longer than a 15 minute wait on most days. I’ve never ordered an item off their menu — there is a chalk board of their daily specials. My go-to has always been their omelets and on this day they served an asparagus, ham, and provolone omelet that was exactly what I needed on a chilly morning. Coffee is self served, unlimited, and delicious — take a cup before you leave as well! 4-stars because the wait is becoming more ridiculous than I could remember.

I can’t say enough about this fabulous Piggy Piggy Piggy omelet filled with Bacon, Neuske’s Ham, Smoking Goose Jowl Bacon and Swiss. I was such a Piggy Piggy Piggy that as soon as the plate was placed in front of me I started to devour this fabulous omelet and did not snap a picture. I am truly sorry I was not able to share my experience with you. Which means you just have to go to see for yourself. I promise you will not be disappointed. Also, in this picture you would have also gotten to see the cinnamon toast and cup of fresh fruit alongside. I had a humongous cup of delicious hot cocoa. I left satisfied and full.

Oh yes! How could I have waited so long to write a review for Patachou?! My gawd. An Indy staple, amirite?! I mean endless self serve coffee ready for me before my cheeks even hit the seat… SOLD my friend! First off. Toast. I love it. The sourdough in particular. Pairs excellently with my cheery disposition and love for all things bread. Oh, it’s also great with the omelets, which brings me to my next point… OMELETES. Seriously folks, just about everything on the menu is solid.(Except the ham and cheese one, didn’t care for it that much.) You can even ask for straight egg whites(for those weirdos out there like me who are allergic to egg yolks, or for those even weirder people who just don’t want the yolk. WHY I ask you!?) I digress. The omelet you can’t refuse is great. But don’t forget to check in and see what the omelet of the day is, sometimes I’m more than pleasantly surprised! Next off, we have my personal favorite, the CUBAN! This breakfast delight is mainly comprised of beans, rice, avocado, sour cream, and egg. I like to mix it up a little and add some chooorizoooo! Seriously. Do it. It’s a game changer. A new favorite is the oatmeal! Having not tried before(because why would I when I could just order the Cuban breakfast), I decided to take a ride on the wild side and order some. It. was. excellent. You can choose what toppings you’d like, I personally opted for pecans and milk(because, duh). And a side of bacon didn’t hurt either. ;) Seriously, we love Patachou. It’s definitely on our top brunch locations in the city, and since they have such great community ties, it makes me love them, their food, and their employees that much more. Cheers to many more omelets and toast!

I really wish this place took brunch reservations! We had a party of 8 on a packed Sunday morning before the Colts/Saints game(Who Dat!). We waited for 50 minutes, then still didn’t get to sit together(when they finally called us, they offered us 24-person tables, completely across the restaurant from each other). That being said, I think it was worth the wait even though our whole party didn’t get to sit together. Our table had a variety of delicious-looking, fluffy omelettes packed with ingredients. I greatly enjoyed my cinnamon toast and oatmeal with bananas and brown sugar(hi, carbs). Service was a bit… abrupt, but we appreciated the speed since we were now running late to the game after such a long wait. I can’t wait to go back and try something more exciting(but probably accompanied by cinnamon toast, let’s be real).

While the food was pretty good, I felt like it wasn’t good enough to justify the prices, which are really incredibly expensive — even on the pricey side compared to what we used to pay for brunch in the Bay Area. And even though I admittedly haven’t eaten out much in Indy, I somehow suspect the average restaurant price here is slightly lower than San Francisco. I had the simple broken yolk sandwich(egg, cheese and avocado), which was a whopping $ 12.50 on croissant. The eggs were cooked perfectly to the requested over medium. The portion of avocado was very stingy(just a couple bites). The croissant was decent and definitely bakery-made, but not extraordinary. It came with choice of mixed greens or fruit cup — I wanted the mixed greens but forgot to tell the server that, and she didn’t ask and just brought a fruit bowl.(This is just about the worst deal on the menu price-wise, but it was what I really wanted. Omelettes are $ 11 or so, which is more reasonable, although they don’t come with potatoes, just toast). My husband had a Cobb salad, which he said was ok, but he wasn’t a big fan of the dressing. I will say that the service was super nice. We sat outside because we had our pup and it was absolutely freezing today — in the low 40s when we were there. We came prepared with winter coats and gloves, etc., but the poor waitresses kept having to come outside in just a sweater to serve us and I felt really bad, but they were very nice about it. I had an iced coffee(yes I drink iced coffee in 40 degree weather!), which was only $ 2 — surprisingly cheap given the food prices. That came with free refills, and they kindly gave me my refill in a to-go cup since our meal was over and they could tell we wanted to leave, so that was super nice.

This was by far one of the best breakfast restaurants I have EVER had the pleasure of visiting. Not only do they source their food locally but they bill themselves as the Students’ Union for adults which is really an attractive tagline. I found that visiting here was really a joy: while they were incredibly busy and we had to wait to be seated, we got top notch service at a good clean table and had absolutely delicious food! Otherwise, I don’t think I’ve ever had so good of an omelet as I had here! It really was most excellent! The restaurant is busy enough that using the building’s restrooms rather than the ones inside the restaurant is suggested seeing as the one inside the restaurant is usually busy. The large windows let in lots of light and the menu provided lots to read while awaiting the delicious food. I don’t actually drink coffee but the self serve coffee station(and to-go cups) seemed really convenient for those who partook in that kind of refreshment. The fruit that came with one’s meal was extra fresh and delicious! Definitely a great local chain restaurant in Indianapolis. I would highly recommend visiting this location!

I dropped in here for brunch today with my friend. We were served water using the vera water bottles. That was pretty cool. The menu is full of scrumptious food items. At the first glance I didn’t knew what to order but our server gave us a nice overview of the items and the favorites of the restaurant and also told us about their soup, salad of the day items. He recommended us to go with a bunch of items and I finally drilled it down to one. «The stuffed cinnamon French toast.» After a ten minutes wait, we were served. This dish comes with an assorted fruit cup and maple syrup on side. I was so hungry and this dish was so fulfilling. I absolutely loved it. The stuffing of cream was awesome. It’s really sweet and I don’t think if you order this dish you don’t have to order anything else because it fills you up. My mouth is watering while writing about this amazing French toast. They got it perfect. The ambience was great. They have some beautiful posters on the wall. It was packed with people. They even have an outdoor seating too. The service was fast. Food was amazing. All in all 5 red stars !! I am definitely going to come back here! I recommend this place.

Less than impressed. Our waiter was super short and almost rude when we were ordering. I ordered the Chopped Cobb Salad and it was pretty good. The avocado had quite a few brown spots which I would expect they would serve at this type of establishment. When we received our bill it was messed up because not all the food we ordered came out. Again our waiter seemed frustrated with us when clearly it was their mistake. Honestly nothing special about this establishment and I probably won’t be back anytime soon.
