Cool and funky vibe. Terrible service and poor food. I had a dry and rather chewy steak with baby food… I think it was meant to be vegetable purée, but folks, I’m an adult! I can chew my own food. I love the concept behind the place– music playing and a live singer– and not always at the same time! The owner has decked out the spot with great artwork– this Heathen didn’t care she was at an old church! But the food isn’t good enough for me to ever return. And that’s sad cause I really wanted to like the place. Maybe a good spot for drinks.

My hubby and I are foodies… I bet you didn’t guess that if you’ve read any of my reviews. We ventured over to Bugg’s for lunch this past summer and I’m looking VERY forward to our next trip. We got seated right away(though there was no outdoor seating available) and the atmosphere was wonderful, cozy and even a little romantic. Our server was AWESOME. He was attentive, polite, knowledgable and FAST. I love that about servers. Despite a very busy lunch hour, he never let our drinks go dry and we were offered more bread after inhaling the first basket. We both got sandwiches, mine was hot and his was cold and the quality of food was incredible. The chef boasts choices and purchases from the local markets. The menu is slightly eclectic but there is something for everyone from meat lovers to vegetarians. It is also in a great location despite being a bit farther from the rest of the downtown action, right along the canal… it is a great little place to have lunch, probably a great dinner and I’m sure a casual drink at the bar upstairs. It is located in one of the oldest buildings in town. Built in 1918, the architecture is incredible, the set up amazing and is definitely a little gem in downtown Indy. If you are looking for something new, check it out. You won’t regret it. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it!

Great view of the canal. Haven’t tried the food yet, but the visited during a business event and was surprised at the facilities — very nice.
