Love to come here and hang out, play pool, drink and get some grub. The server Nicole is awesome and super sweet. The 3rd time going she already knew what I wanted to drink! Food is super good as well. Love this place. The atmosphere is inviting and the staff is friendly. Whenever my friends want to go out on the town I always tell them to go to Broad Ripple!

With the right people it’s a great place to hang. Lots of screens and plenty of beer. Nothing very notable otherwise, but right across the Egyptian Café, so works for me!

Some of these low reviews are funny. Broad Ripple Tavern was open & inviting, my boyfriend and I sat down without a problem on Thursday after asking what food they were still serving and being advised there was the usual bar food. And that it was! I honestly just wanted a Bloody Mary above all else, and that was out to the table within 10 mins of sitting down(and asking for a menu, and my boyfriend deciding on a beer). We ordered mozzarella sticks & chili and cheese fries, which were AWESOME. The chili was meat & beans chili, the REAL kind, and the cheese was melted perfectly on top, not that nacho cheese crap. My Bloody Mary was awesome, not over the top and with the perfect amount of spice. The food was greasy and filling which is exactly what I expected it to do while we watched the Thursday night game. Staff was friendly throughout and we even got a knowing«thanks for coming» and wave from the guy who helped us at the door as we were walking out. Safe to say we will most definitely come here again!

It’s dirty, it smells sour, the bartender may have been a zombie. I loved it!

Thirsty? Broad Ripple Tavern gets the job done. Come summertime you are guaranteed a few good craft beers on tap, plenty of seating in the open air, and a grand view of Broad Ripple Ave. What more could you want on a lazy afternoon?

Great place for local brews on tap! Also highly recommended, deep fried pickles and the Cajun pretzel bites. Don’t pass it up!

Asked for a glass this is what I got plastic cup and that was after like an 20min. I like this place but go early because they don’t handle a large crowd well. Pool tables are unavailable to people who are not regulars.

A friend was visiting from out of town and I had a half day off work on a Monday, so what better way to fill that afternoon than day drinking in Broad Ripple Tavern? It was my first time coming into the place after passing it walking down the street for years – I haven’t the faintest idea how I never made it inside. I was impressed with the operation. The tavern is huge and lends itself to a mixed crowd. They have some decent beers on tap. We had a few DTFGs from Bier Brewing Co. as well as some Two Hearted and enjoyed a snowy day of drinking. We talked, played pool, etc., all while our waitress was extremely tentative but not overwhelming. The beers were about normal price for Broad Ripple, so nothing special there, and the same goes for their food. We didn’t eat much, but we did order an appetizer of chips and queso. WARNING: Their queso is not queso, it’s nacho cheese. We desperately craved queso, and were a little let down when it didn’t come out. But hey, you can’t really be unhappy with a bowl of melted cheese, can you? The chips are fresh and unlimited until you finish your salsa and cheese, which is nice. There are plenty of TVs, so it makes me think that it’s somewhat a sports bar. It has a pretty laidback and interesting environment for a sports bar, I must say.

Sat at the bar for 15 minutes, waiting patiently to buy a drink for my friends and I. The bartender(dark haired with tattoos on her arms) took care of people to my left and my right, who came in and sat down at least 10 minutes after I did. It was like I wasn’t even there. I explained my situation to the head of security and he pretended like he cared, but he obviously didn’t. I will never go back and I will never recommend this place to anyone. Terrible service.

Love this place! Great times have been had here :) The staff is great, football sundays are super fun especially if youre a transplant browns fan ~ we have a little dawg pound to watch our game! The only thing I dont love is their food, but if you wanna catch a game with friends, or just pop in for a drink its a great lil spot in the heart of the rip without being bogged down by teeny boppers!

I came here on a Friday before it got busy. I was starving so I ordered the bloody mary pizza. The pizza took over an hour to come out. The waitress visited 5 or 6 times between my order and receiving the pizza and kept saying… it’s coming soon… I promise. I have a few drinks before the pizza came! Also, when I requested drinks, they were out of a lot of beverages including the special. I don’t think that you should tell the customer what the special is if you’re out of the drink.

I prefer Broad Ripple Tavern for weeknight sports games when I can justify eating something unhealthy. This place, like most in Broad Ripple, takes on a couple of different appearances depending on which night you visit. It is one of the larger bars in the area, and is usually pretty empty during the week but can get very full during the weekend. My biggest complaint during the weekend is that even though it is crowded, people insist of playing pool right in the middle of where everyone is walking, so you are either interrupting someone’s game to get by them, or waiting for them to take their turn before you can get to the bathroom. It is more of a mingling around place, so don’t go here expecting to do any dancing, but it is a nice breather compared to other places that are much more loud and crowded during at night. I usually sit at the bar, and the service has been great. There are a couple of servers that go around to the tables, but I have noticed that that can be a little slow which I think is mostly because of them being understaffed when it gets busy. During the week, there seem to be a lot of regulars in the bar, but it is a good crowd of people if you like talking sports. It is a good place to people watch on a weekend because they have large windows along the strip that they open during the summer, and if you have been to Broad Ripple you know that there are always interesting things to see on a weekend evening. The drink specials are usually pretty good, but mostly only if you are looking for large quantities of domestic light beer. The food options consist typically of appropriately priced sandwiches and burgers, but I have enjoyed everything I have tried. If you are looking for a big deep-fried piece of meat, the breaded tenderloin is one of the better ones I have had around town. All in all, I think that they do well at what they are going for. Cheap drink and bar food in a good setting along the strip in Broad Ripple. That’s what they advertise and that is what you get. I can’t complain about that.

Location’s great, but it suffers from a mediocre beer selection and painfully slow service. Not planning to return anytime soon.

in broad ripple it is easy to find bars scattered here and there and broad ripple tavern is just another watering hole that delivers on that note. Dark and dingy it is perfect to end up here towards the end of the night or the beginning of the night depending on your preferences. a place with a friendly wait staff and cheap drinks and food which is ok at best, but on a wild night in town is easy on the pocket. they also have a few pool tables where you can play for just a buck. for chow down midtown they also have the best deal in the neighborhood. go there for the cheap booze and a quick bite.

Fine place. We just stopped in for the game last night so we had a few beers. No food. The atmosphere was fine, a bit noisy, but what do you expect with a Pacers playoff game going on in the background. Overall it was fine, nothing super special though.

I have been here 3 times and I don’t know why. If I am going for just a beer and I am sufficiently… relaxed…and have been served enough to not care… then I am just fine at BRT. But if I am trying to have a little food and some drinks at the beginning of the evening, then this place drives me bats%^& insane. I ask for a menu, it never arrives. I borrow one from the table next to me, prepare to order, but the server tosses my drink on the table and walks away too fast for me to shout«I would like to order!» The server comes back 10 minutes later and reluctantly takes my order, not realizing I don’t have and never did have a menu. Food arrives, but a coca-cola my friend orders never arrives. The floor is sticky early on, probably from not being mopped the night before. The last time I was there, they had only 2 servers in the entire place during an IU game. Another friend complained to no one in particular that the fish n chips used to be good but were no longer any good. The quality is sinking. The bottom line: I think it is mismanaged. It drives me so completely crazy to be there, that I need to leave and have a drink elsewhere to relax and have a good time. I might go back a 4th time just to be sure, but I am guessing I will regret it.

Right in the heart of Broad Ripple’s main drag, a chill bar with good bar food. BRT is also a place to have a conversation with friends, which not every place in Broad ripple allows. You can also usually find a seat, which is a plus. The food is generally average bar food, and the kitchen is open late! There is smoking allowed, so no whiners please(your hair and clothes will wash). If the windows are open, you barely notice. There is a huge back area, with its own bar, and many, many TV’s. I go to watch games there all the time.

I go to Broad Ripple Tavern quite often. They usually have decent drink specials and I can usually find a table. Drawbacks: They charge a 50 cents surcharge for juice which I think is very strange. It can get very very smoky inside. I like that their kitchen stays open really late. Ask the waitresses about the late night menu– they have it memorized and will list off a bunch of appetizers that are served at 10 p.m. Try the fried mac and cheese!

I’m really sad about the service, or lack thereof, that a friend and I received here this past Saturday. I’d raved about the burgers and she was excited that they had fried pickles. But after waiting 20 minutes without service we left. When we got here I went to the restroom and when I returned to the table my companion for the evening told me that the waitress said she would«be right with us.» Only she never came back. The place wasn’t crowed, it was practically empty and it was 5:30pm on a Saturday night. We were heading to a concert at 6:30 and didn’t have all night to wait around so at 5:50 I suggested we eat somewhere else. I’m bummed. I wanted a burger from here so bad and we ended up being ignored or forgotten about. 20 minutes of waiting in a dead bar and not so much as a drink order was even taken. It’s pretty awful.
