BrightNow Dental was an ok dentist until I made an appointment & went in that morning at my scheduled time just to be turned away because I missed an appointment a few months before. Which was because of family emergencies. I even called & left messages on their answering machines to reschedule & they never called me back. So my tooth started hurting really bad & I made an appointment. Went in & the dentist turned me away with an excruciating hurting tooth just bcuz I missed an appointment a few months before. I’ve never been turned away from a doctor or dentist before. I found it to be very unprofessional from the dentist standpoint because he didn’t even talk to me. The assistant did. I will never go back & I will not recommend this dentist to anyone.

This location of the Bright Now! Dental network with over 400 locations in 17 states is located near my home and became an obvious choice to try out when I was searching for a new dentist and discovered they were in my network. Now then, I’ll confess straight up that my teeth absolutely suck. Between growing up in a home where dental work was a luxury and having some health challenges that negatively impacted my dental condition, along with my own dental phobia, years of neglect have definitely taken their toll. I know this. I understand this. I’m not shy about saying it and I’m not resistant to hearing it from my dentist. However, my experience at Bright Now! Dental is, by far, the worst experience I’ve ever had with a dentist. While I expect my dentist to be honest, my dentist at Bright Now! was hateful, condescending, and easily the most negative dentist I’ve ever experienced. While I do have bad teeth, in recent years I’ve started getting work done and have also improved dramatically my own self-care. In other words, I do care about it all and have slowly but surely been working to get things addressed. While I don’t need a dentist to be a cheerleader, this dentist quite literally said«your breath smells like rotting flesh,» a statement with which those friends I told about this story vehemently disagreed. Instead of coming up with compassionate ways to discuss a difficult subject, this dentist was tactless and did very little to actually constructively come up with a plan to address it all. To top everything off, the office wasn’t particularly comfortable and the overall atmosphere simply wasn’t conducive to healing. While the other location of Bright Now! in Indy appears to have closed, somehow this one survives. I do know that some dentists have been added to the practice and I’m sure that has helped. My particular dentist was rather elderly and as he leaned over me, I kept thinking to myself«What if he has a heart attack right now?» But, then again, by the time he really started examining I was already feeling defensive. In short, this was a horrible experience and I can’t fathom a reason to recommend the practice.
