«Rise and shine morning biscuits!», is what my granny would say to me and my sister weekend mornings. We’d jump out of bed for the best breakfast ever. Now, while it’s hard to be a home cooked country style breakfast, Biscuits comes so close… like really close. I love their biscuits and gravy– spicy please. The off the menu option is the most popular, real Mexican style. Get it with your eggs over easy on top. Add a Belgian waffle just because:) The staff is so nice, they move quickly too. It gets really busy, you sit close to the next person; mind your own biscuits and it’s all gravy.

Get anything with the gravy on it! Dad and I had the skillet breakfast and were both immensely pleased with our decision. Mom and husband had breakfast burritos with chorizo and still argue that they made the better choice. We all went home fat and happy. It’s a loud, busy, diner of fabulousness!

This is some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in Indy, period. I went with my son-in-law for breakfast on a weekday. He had the Chalaquiles and I had the Huevos Rancheros. They offer two types of sauces, one green and spicy, the other red and mild. The portions are HUGE. By the time I finished my plate I was ready for a nap! Food coma inbound! lol. The refried beans were excellent, and made in house with fresh lard, trust me when I say it makes a big difference. The tortillas are fresh and homemade, if they aren’t doing them in house then they have a Tortillaria somewhere in Indy that’s delivering them daily. That’s something I need to throw a study on and find out for my own use at home. All the food was properly seasoned and excellent. If I had one gripe it would be the prices. I don’t know why the Unilocal rating says it’s only a single $. It should be $$. We were at over $ 30.00 with tip for two people. The Ice Tea alone is almost $ 5.00 per glass. But overall I don’t mind paying a little more money for Mexican food that surpasses the typical Mid-West sub-par offerings of most other places. These folks are doing it right.

This little unassuming place does breakfast right. You get large tasty portions and service with a smile. I ordered what I thought was a «small» mimosa and it came in a beer mug. The staff is friendly and attentive and it’s a nice atmosphere for family and friends. Casual and welcoming.

My first time visit but I’ll be back. I got the chorizo scramble which was pretty good. Not big on Mexican breakfasts but can’t wait to try other menu items. Service was just ok and seems to always be busy.

Imagine if you could infuse perfect hungover breakfast food and Mexican food together… That’s exactly what Biscuits is. If you come here a little later in the morning when the college kids are wanting brunch-time food, expect it to be extremely busy and smelling like the night before. But, it’s well worth the wait if you have to wait! The staff and service is what you would expect for an affordable, fast brunch place, so don’t expect top-notch service always ready to refill your glass. And be prepared to be buddy-buddy with the people sitting next to you unless you get lucky enough to sit near the windows in the front. Those couple of flaws aside, this place was the place to go after a fun night before. Even without having a crazy night before, Biscuits is a great joint for Mexican-infused brunch!

This place is authentic and who knew they had breakfast?! I got the breakfast quesadilla and it was absolutely delicious. I was only able to eat half of it and I was stuffed. Great value and great hearty breakfast. I will definitely be going back for dinner soon.

Biscuits is real good, but only for breakfast. Listen pals, Biscuits for dinner is «no bueno.» I frequently attend Biscuits for brunch. If you go on a Saturday morning the place is packed. But I’m gonna be real with you, by 5:00pm on a Saturday, the place is empty. I think this ’cause their chicken is dry and queso is watery. Stick with the eggs and pancakes.

My guy and I recently started Paleo. After hearing amazing reviews from friends that whose culinary judgement we trust, we decided our last hurrah breakfast was going to be here. We were honestly overwhelmed with our choices and had no idea which route to take. So — he got the breakfast Mexican Sandwich and I got the Biscuit skillet with spicy gravy. We also both got a small mimosa. Let’s start with the mimosa. It was really good, but honestly — it’s the size of 3 normal mimosas. And it’s served with ice… interesting. Not bad — just interesting. I tried his breakfast Mexican sandwich. The bread… Ohhhh the bread. It was the better choice of our two selections. Very flavorful and the bread is just — well it’s almost croissant like. Almost. The biscuit skillet with spicy gravy. Let’s start with the gravy. If you choose the spicy option — it just has a little kick. Not a dropkick — so don’t be skurrd. It’s called the biscuit skillet, but honestly — I detected not one single bite of biscuit. Maybe they crumbled it up for me into teeny tiny little biscuit bits. I don’t know. It was basically a skillet full of tasty slop, but I probably won’t get it again. The atmosphere: We went in on a Sunday for brunch so it was crowded. One of the first things we noticed was that their«outside seating» was in the parking lot. No — like… REALLY the parking lot. Just seemed less than restaurant-y. Kind of grimy and dirty… but you get the choice as to whether you want to sit out there or not, so I didn’t mark down for that. When we walked inside to wait — there was definitely a line and a LOT of confusion. There was no one taking names, waitresses and host were seating people. We did get seated rather quickly, but there was a lot of apologizing and shifting as we hovered over the table next to the front door. I’m sure we’ll be back at some point — but there was a lot of hype to build this place up and in my opinion, it was good… Just not OMG!!!

Great service and friendly staff. Affordably priced food and a well rounded menu. Spacious seating for a café; sunday brunch with mimisosas and breakfast mexican sandwich hit the spot. Very busy on a Sunday morning so get there early!

Solid 4 star breakfast. I would like to express one minor quibble–«CoffeeMate» is NOT«just as good» as ½&1/2 in coffee, and the coffee in a breakfast joint is so important. I asked for half and half and got some, ymmv. If it’s about food, plenty of choices for gringoes as well as those of us that love the Mexican palate even if we struggle with remembering how to pronounce gracias. Nice people, give it a try.

I may update this if I have a better experience on my next visit, the one star comes down to this: Being grossly overcharged for 1 coffee and a full order of biscuits and gravy, $ 11.45, wow not a good value if that’s the true price. Service was fast and friendly but when I objected to the price it was ignored as if everything was correct. The location in Broad Ripple and to the Monon Trail are great but next time I’m hoping to get what I pay for(and not less).

Yes. Yes. Yes. Fast food, wonderful flavors and breakfast to fill you up and then some. This place is a win! Get the breakfast combo with spicy sausage gravy. Thank me later.

I came here for the first time during the busy Sunday breakfast hour. The place is small and packed tightly with many tables. Despite the busy time we came, the wait to be seated was fairly short. Great breakfast/brunch! The options were abundant among both Mexican cuisine and typical American breakfast foods. Service was excellent as well. I ordered the French toast with strawberries. All plates are very large; no one leaves this place hungry. Definitely way better than any chain breakfast restaurant.

Biscuits is what you make it, and you can’t expect to have a typical brunch at a place like this. Yes, at least 4 different waiters will be serving you, yes, it will be crowded, yes, it will be loud, yes everything in the place is mismatched and thrown together but that is all part of the beauty of Biscuits. The food isn’t going to blow your mind but I guarantee you will not leave hungry. It’s large portions of everything. The biscuits and gravy are good and I really like the breakfast tacos. I have never had a bad experience here. Biscuits provides it’s customers with large portion breakfast or Mexican dishes with no fuss or frills. Let’s just say you won’t want to Instagram a pic of your plate you will just want to eat your food and have a lazy day.

My first time having Huevos Rancheros, Mexican style eggs served with cheese, salsa and corn tortillas. Yum! More food than I could possibly eat. The place was packed on a Sunday morning, but we got our order taken swiftly and our food came out fast. We will definitely be back!

How have I waited this long to try Biscuits!!! I’d always seen this place in the random strip mall in Broad Ripple, but was never quite sure what it was. Boyfriend and I decided to stop in for brunch last week, and it was one of the best food choices I’ve ever made! It was bustling when we got there, but there was one table left in the back of the room. I think they’ve pretty much put as many tables as possible in this room — it’s hard to walk! We ordered coffee… which was by the way delicious. and split a short stack of blueberry pancakes and Mexican breakfast tacos. Pancakes were really good, but the Mexican Breakfast Tacos were insanely good! They were filled with sour cream, refried beans, guacamole, lettuce and pico de gallo. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I love the fact that Biscuits serves both American and Mexican brunch, and after trying both, they were so good! We’re planning to go back this week to try their dinner. I can see this place becoming my favorite brunch place in Broad Ripple!

One of my favorite spots in Broad Ripple, or maybe even Indy, for breakfast. A perfect morning after drinking meal, if you catch my drift. Their number 1 breakfast combo might be the best hangover cure in Indianapolis. I know my order by heart: spicy biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage patty, and obviously, some hash browns. Biscuits is located in a strip mall, so it’s a little unassuming, but make no mistake about it, this place is 0% fancy and just 100% delicious food. Even when they’re busy, the staff is attentive and the food comes out fast and hot. A hidden gem not to be missed in Indy! I’ve never eaten anything other than breakfast here, but I’ve heard they have good margaritas and good lunch/dinner, so next time I’m needing a Mexican fix, I’ll have to head here and try it out.

Maybe we ordered the wrong thing, but we were both quite disappointed in our meals. My wife ordered carne tacos and the meat was bland and tasteless. I ordered the breaded tenderloin and it was dry and tough. We might try it again for breakfast if we’re in the area, but we weren’t impressed at all.

After getting my hair did in Broad Ripple, I figured I’d get myself some brunch or lunch. The mobile app directed me here, a mom and pop Mexican place that also serves traditional breakfast favorites. After browsing the menu, I settled on the Mexican breakfast sandwich. Soon after I ordered, I decided to check out other peoples’ reviews and pictures on Biscuits Café’s Unilocal page. Read your reviews and really glad I didn’t get the biscuits and gravy! I’m from the South and what they hell do they put in their biscuits and gravy to make them pink like that? I sat right next to the order counter, and yes, THEYAREPINKINREALLIFE. Ick. So, I will never ever get them. I don’t care if they taste great(a LOT of people were ordering them, but I will never get over the fact that they’re that color). My sandwich, however was really nice, and I paired it with Mexican style potatoes. The sort of comfort food that I crave from time to time, not to mention hella cheap.
