Big City Grill & Lemonade

Hands down my favorite cheesesteaks in the city. They have a fairly extensive menu (sandwiches, wings, hot dogs, desserts), but it’s a rare occasion I can pass up the philly. Combined with a frozen lemonade, this place really hits the spot. Not to mention the incredibly nice guys that work there. Definitely a winner.

By far the best food in Indianapolis. If u don’t believe me jus go see for urself. The chefs there are awesome. They kill that grill. Check it out u won’t be disappointed :)

The best restaurant ever. The food is great and well priced. The service is excellent and the frozen lemonade is to die for. I have never had a complaint. I love this restaurant!

Every time that I order takeout, someone asks me where did I get my food! That’s because it looks that good and tastes that good!!! The owner is awesome, and really tries hard to take care of his customers! They are very reasonably priced as well.

Big City is one of my summer ‘guilty pleasures’. The restaurant would probably be classified as more of a fast food joint, but everything is cooked to order. They have a large selection including wings, Hamburgers, dogs, and about 100 Philly Sandwiches. Ok– I’m exaggerating a bit, but there are several different options to please even the fussiest of eaters.
The location is in a strip mall on 38^th & Meridian. The neighborhood has a reputation, but I have never once been bothered. They also offer delivery. If parking is full in the front (it often is), there is another parking lot behind the building.
I personally enjoy their chardog and fries (with a side of cheese). It’s basically a grilled hotdog. Yup, guilty pleasures.
My favorite thing, and the thing that keeps me going back, is the lemonade. This isn’t your typical, tropicana lemonade. It’s more of a slushy with a large choice of flavors! Mix and match– or be a plain Jane with no added flavor (no judgement here!). I have a soft spot for the strawberry fruit punch and blue raspberry.

I’m new to Indy and I don’t live too far from this place. Yes, the area of town is very up and coming but I wouldn’t say it’s sketchy. But the most important part was the food! I had the best lemonade and cheeseburger there. It was homemade for sure. They have the best fries, too. I got it to go since I don’t live too far and I’ll be going back. I had a wonderful (not so healthy) meal for under $ 8. It’s also really clean in there. Probably cleaner than most little places like that. Definitely a must go!

The corner is kinda sketchy BUT, there is plenty of parking and the food is awesome! I am in love with the Philly Cheesesteak, fat, seasoned steak fries and icy lemonade. I will probably order from orderup next time. They’ll pick it up and bring it to me. Great food!

I love their hypo plates! Great service and the food doesn’t take long to prepare. The location is convenient. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a spot to park right in front.

Mediocre food (bland and worse than fare food). Customer service was non-​existent. Don’t even try ordering online through their bandaid online ordering system that just uses email. You’ll be waiting for days, literally. Very disappointed.

Super great! Yes, sketchy neighborhood and minimal parking… but one of the best sandwiches I have eaten in Indy. I had cheese steak and the lemonade. I liked the very icy lemonade. Fries could have used more seasoning. There were a ton of items on the menu I would love to try, and all seemed reasonably priced. Definitely a great place to stop. Very basic inside… nothing exciting, but who cares. It tasted great!

I always pass by this place. & I came here last week. The food was great. recommended.

We ate here because of Unilocal and we were not disappointed. All of us tried something different, a ribeye sandwich, teriyaki chicken, a couple different hot dogs, and the beef and cheddar. The best sandwich I’ve had in Indianapolis. I can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!

After a walk around IMA. I was starving.
We stopped here late in the afternoon to grab some grub before we hit the road, and since most places in Indy lack Sunday hours, this place was a saving grace.
This place is on the rough stretch of town. A few shady people hanging around on the street corner as well as a handful of transients walking through, but it wasn’t enough to hinder our stop.
Parking is a little bizarre in this shopping center, but it is what it is.
I ordered a Philly Cheese Steak combo and the guy ordered A burger.
Mine was pretty good. It’s not the best I’ve had in my life, but is reminiscent of some of the good food carts around C-​bus and just a step below what a real sandwich in Philly could offer.
The husband agreed… It hit the spot, but wasn’t life changing in any way.
Their lemonade was pretty decent, but it’s a lemonade I would let sit a few before drinking. The small ice chunks make for a miserable experience to those with sensitive teeth and I felt like you really couldn’t even taste the lemonade until it had all melted a little.
Prices were on the cheap side, and the place was really clean and well taken care of.

Food is cheap and decent. Will never order delivery again. Twice now have ordered food for delivery and only received part of the order. Ordered 4 lemonades both times and they only brought 1. The first time they did not even return with the others that we paid for. The second time the driver went back to get the missing 3 drinks and only returned with 2.

Been going to big city for 2 years now and it’s the best Philly in town. Get the philly. Get the lemonade don’t get fancy

Big City Grill sure hits the spot when I have a munchie attack and surely don’t feel like driving. The delivery is quick too when normally you’d wait a long time. The gyros are PHYRE and my dude loves their chicken (he’s picky too). Onion rings take me back to when BK had the best in town… Its SO GOOD and i found them on
. WTG and I’ve been ordering every since.

The Italian beef special on Thursday is the best deal in town… Dipped with peppers.

Ordered for an office full of people. Everyone was very happy with their food. Delivery was fast and the delivery guy didn’t seem to have any problems navigating the maze that is Methodist Hospital (which has been an issue with other deliveries places the past.) The lemonade is awesome!

Good hood food! Looks a little intimidating from the outside considering it’s on 38^th & Meridian, but I gave it a go, and I’m surprised.

I would only say that the parking and atmosphere could definitely use some improvement. But all in all, a great local alternative to the Steak-​n-​Shake.
