They’ll deliver until 10 – 11 if you need a late night bite! The lady always says the delivery will take twice as long as it usually does so don’t be turned off by the wait time. I’m a stickler for the veggie lo mein and beef with broccoli. The smaller size portions will definitely feed two.

This is kind of my go-to Chinese delivery place, because, well… Because they deliver. Everything is pretty standard. I do like the Singapore Chow Mei Fun, though. The Jalopino Chicken is prett good, though it borders on too sweet like many of their menu items.

They were fast and friendly. They were great at allowing me to special order all the specific veggies I want to a veggies schezwan dish. The sauce was pretty thick and it wasn’t spicy enough for my taste, but it was okay. However, I like JS Garden just up the road better. However, they do deliver and JS Garden does not. I don’t think you will be mad you ate here, but I don’t think you will be wowed either.

Not sure why this place such great reviews. I found it to be your standard, run of the mill, Chinese take out place. I ordered a chicken lunch special and it was ok but I have had better Chinese food. What I did enjoy was their house special soup. In fact I would order that for a great lunch option next time. It was full of veggies and three types of meat. Plus it came in a quart size for under $ 5. Had I just gotten that I would probably have given this place another star but the lack luster Kung Pao chicken ended up in the trash. It was an economical choice for lunch and the portions were great. I would go back for the soup but it’s winter and soup is extra good this time of year.

Great fried rice and rangoons! That«halopino chicken» is TDF. Friendly staff looks to be cleaner than most Chinese spots

Outstanding delivery Chinese. Never actually go there to eat. Only pick up food if you are in a rush. Their Bean Curd soup is wonderful. Huge very fresh veggies, and large chunks of bean curd. Their crab rangoon is wonderful as well. And if you order over $ 25 you get free crab rangoon. For a main dish I recommend Mongolian Chicken. I would caution you from getting any of their deep fried chicken dishes, as they have always been soggy. Other than that, you can’t go wrong. Only place I get Chinese in Broad Ripple.

Delicious Chinese food! The Jalapeño Chicken is a must! If you spend over $ 25, they’ll throw in free Crab Rangoon as well!

Went here today because of all the good reviews. Well the ones that left this place a good review must have never had good chinese food. This place has horrible food. We got the Sweet N Sour Shrimp which was soo over cooked it was like chewing rubber. The fried dumplings were mostly dumplings and very doughy. The crab Ragoon was very greasy and tasted like onion. We were very disappointed and won’t be going back here ever again. Don’t eat at the restaurant because the plastic forks are so cheap they bend and the only drinks they have are in a can.

If you’ve had Chinese food elsewhere(i.e. a major city like Chicago, LA, NY or even say Cinci) you’ve had way better. For Indy, it’s a better than any buffet and most other places I’ve tried. And the bonus of delivery is huge. The food is meh. The egg drop soup was tasty, not too much salt(rare) but a tad gelatinous for my taste. The vegetable fried rice was bland, but not overcooked and the veggies were still crunchy which was nice. The sesame chicken was way too sweet, but a HUGE portion. The Egg Foo Young patties were actually quit good, but the brown sauce wasn’t very thick and the had a strange bullion taste to it. Different, not terrible. They accidentally(?) threw in an order of rangoon and that was lucky, I know not to order it in the future. Very little crab crème and lots of breading which was flakey but undercooked. Finally, the chicken wings were great. Nothing chinese about them, but they were huge and breaded perfectly and a good value. Not #1 happiness but not terrible either. Will do in a pinch.

What sets Bamboo House apart is their jalopino(i think thats how its spelled on the menu) chicken dish. Its Fried chicken chunks in a sweet sauce with onions jalapenos and maybe some black pepper. I am not sure exactly what the ingredients are but it is wonderful. Every time I get it I binge eat it until its gone and dont even regret it. Other than that they are very similar to your standard take out and delivery chinese joint. They have some tables inside but I dont see people eating at them very often.

We tried Bamboo House tonight after 7+ neighbors recommended it on a neighborhood thread. Did not disappoint! Generous portions put it lightly– we did not even get halfway through our food but loved the variety we ordered regardless. Additionally, the woman on the phone was so charming she deserves an award. This is DEFINITELY our new go-to!

Literally just finished eating delivery from here. I couldn’t find a menu online, so I called and sort of BS’d an order(General Tso’s, rice, crab rangoon, and an egg roll). It was about $ 12 for all of that and I was stuffed before I got halfway through what they brought. The Tso’s and rice was enough for two healthy people, there were 5 or 6 crab rangoon pastries, the egg roll was a good size, and it all came with soy sauce, duck sauce, sweet n’ sour, and a fortune cookie. It also got here a lot quicker than expected. Now, in saying all that, I was originally going to give this a 3 star rating because 1) No menu online(they confirmed that the site was down when I called), 2) They weren’t friendly ATALL, and 3) Food quality was average(but not bad). I went ahead with 4 stars because of the amazing portions for the price, the speed, and the fact they brought me a full menu. For affordable delivery, I definitely recommend.

If you suddenly get an craving for Chinese food on a Sunday night, but don’t want to get out of your pajama pants, contact Bamboo House for take out. Quite honestly, I had no idea this place even existed until this happened last night. It’s located in next to the Marsh on Keystone /52nd in a strip mall. You can’t really tell if they’re open until you’re upon it, but the good word is out, because they were hustling and the Dragon Wagon(delivery truck) was making its rounds. Fourty-five minute wait? It might have had something to do with the Colts game, who knows, I chose to go casual in person. I knew what I wanted, just not what it was called, so it was necessary to show a picture of something I ordered in Chicago, and they quickly duplicated the order and told me it was Singapore chow mei fun( ). I wouldn’t suggest ordering anything based upon their faded menu signs that made everything look gray. They were efficient and friendly, even giving us a free Crab Rangoon for spending over $ 20. Just another reason to love living in So Bro!

In the Broad Ripple/SoBro/Meridian-Kessler, King Dragon is the Chinese takeout of choice. But, as as resident of SoBro, I feel Bamboo House maintains the same quality of food, with the added bonus of delivery! The menu is standard, and this is NOT a bad thing. It has everything you would want. For you vegetarian consumers, all dishes can be made with tofu to replace the primary meat/protein listed on the menu. All the classics taste just as you want them too. The subtlety of the chow mei fun, the sweet and spiciness of the General Tso’s, and the tanginess of the orange all contain the same taste bud stimulation you’ve always turned to. Bamboo house wins out for me for two reasons. Reason one is location. Located at 52nd and Keystone, its close, easy to access, and sits in a large parking lot. Complete convenience. And, if ease of pickup is still too much, they deliver! At this point, its hard NOT to want to order! Reason two is their flexibility in the menu. I can fully enjoy so many flavors and dishes that I previously couldn’t, due to my animal-free diet. So, once you get used to the ease of ordering and fully open menu, you will start eating this far too much. I’m sorry if I am responsible for a lighter wallet and larger waist line.

5 stars for exceeding expectations for Chinese take-out! Placing the order by phone was easy. Delivery was estimated to take 45 minutes and arrived in 25! And the crab rangoons, pork dish, beef dish and short ribs we got were delicious with good quality meats and veggies. Will be ordering again in the future!

The food here is your average chinese food which is as expected. The service can really be hit or miss. I’d recommend getting delivery or carry-out. The inside is not very eat-in friendly. Price are decent.

So happy to have found a decent Chinese restaurant that delivers to my house! The pork egg rolls are very good. I was also very happy with my entrée: the special crispy shrimp. At first I thought the price seemed a bit high, but when I consider that there is enough food here for 2 meals and a snack I can justify paying a little more than I expected. I have not been to this place, but the phone service as well as the delivery service were great. Everyone was polite. It took almost 50 minutes from the time I called to the moment the food arrived; HOWEVER, I called at 6PM on a weeknight on a chilly evening so I imagine that’s a fairly busy time. I am not sure the web address on Unilocal is correct. I found the menu and phone number here:

Hey, Bamboo House. Yeah I gave you a 3 out of 5 stars, and let me tell you why: Pepsi Products instead of Coke Products. Nobody wants Pepsi, ever. I’m a fan of your food, believe me, but I don’t want to wash it down with a Dr. Pepper instead of a cool, refreshing Coca-Cola Classic. Seriously, get on the ball. Is Coke more expensive than Pepsi? Yeah, probably, considering nobody likes it. Would rate higher, except for this one point.

This is our favorite Chinese place in Indy. It’s not exactly for the food quality but for the great service. They are the only non pizza place that will actually deliver to us! Not even all pizza places will for some reason. They are always fast and consistent. As for the food it’s the standard Chinese take out with no frills but sometimes that’s what we are in the mood for. Actually probably more than we should. I usually go with the hot and sour soup and my husband will get generals or beef lo mein. The portions are huge. We always have enough for another full meal.

So… I was going to go to lunch with my daughter today but since the side streets in Broad Ripple don’t get plowed, I was concerned about getting my car out… and back. It is a good thing that I work from home :-) Since I didn’t want to venture out… I decided to order chinese food delivered. For orders of $ 10+, free delivery — yay!!! I ordered a quart of the Hot & Sour Soup(very good), a pint of the Egg Drop soup(ok), and the Steamed Chicken & Shrimp with Mixed Vegetables(good but not much shrimp). The guy that delivered the food was pleasant and even included a 2011 scroll calendar with my order. I’m set for the weekend! Although I am going to venture out of my house tomorrow to do some urban hiking on the towpath :-)
