Great coffee, fantastic views, and maybe a Bigfoot sighting, perfect place to stop and take a moment or two…

I have always stopped at this Espresso Chalet for a photo op with Harry from Harry & the Hendersons. You can’t miss it – especially with the kids! They sell a large variety of fun Sasquatch knick-knacks from paw mugs to warning signs. For the outdoorsy folks, they sell various maps of the area and North Cascades. The surrounding mountains are simply gorgeous. Not until this last trip did I actually purchase a latte. While it was not the best, the barista was friendly and helpful in planning a trip to Deception Falls and other stops along the drive over Steven’s Pass. They also have 10 different milk options available. TEN! Even a local goat milk. Talk about options. Two Heads Ups: –Do not to pull your car up in front of the chalet or you will be blocking the drive-up(I was unaware… and they will be sure to make it clear to you). –There are limited bathrooms in and around Index. They have a port-a-potty here for emergencies and you will be required to make a purchase.

This place is the bomb. Affordable, delicious, coffee in just about any style or flavor you could imagine. Plus Bigfoot is always lurking nearby. Go here.

Kitschy Washington roadside coffee at its best. I’ve literally driven from Seattle just to go here for fun.

I don’t care if the coffee is great. I would never stop here again. Threats and hostility is all the serve. My 2 year old needed to use the restroom, we had stopped by a place down the road that didn’t have one available and the pointed us in the direction of this«great» coffee stand that would allow us to use their restrooms. We ask for the key as the woman VERYRUDELY interrupted my mother and I saying we had to come back to purchase something or «we would be in trouble». Her tone was almost demeaning. Noth a great start, but we did agree. It was 100% our plan to purchase a coffee seeing as I was exhausted from the 3 hour drive, that was up until I found the male owner standing directly behind my car making sure I could not leave until I bought something. I found that extremely rude and I also did not appreciate him taking down my license plate number for no reason. After that, I got in my car, told him to move as he acted like he didn’t know what he was doing. He ran to the stand and called the police. …my daughter needed to use the restroom. That is all. I left feeling upset, threatened and in shock that two people could be so disrespectful and rude. You can only go so far with a good product if you have a TERRIBLE attitude and more disrespect for a human than I have ever witnessed. I have been to a lot of places with bad customer service and have never left a bad review. I made this Unilocal just to post how awful this place is. I have worked in customer service for 10 years & have never seen anything like this. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone.

Who would have thought that a quaint little coffee stop on the way to Leavenworth would have the best Granita I have ever had. Perfectly delicious! Pass by all the coffee stands out of Monroe. The owners are very friendly making the Index stop worth the wait. Very tasty oatmeal craisin cookies too.

Great little coffee shack right by the highway for road trippers, kayakers, and climbers to get their morning fix. Plus they have cookies and muffins to sooth the little ones sweet tooth.

Best coffee I’ve ever had! Perfect every time. This is the most amazing coffee stand. They have an incredible selection of virtually any flavor you could possibly imagine. we stop every time we come over the past and know the owners understand very well. They also have a great selection of milk. Try to have milk exclamation

Loved this place. We decided on an impromptu road trip from Seattle and are very happy we did. We were sorry to hear they were out of bigfoot cookies for the day, but we plan to get there early next time to get one for our daughter. She loved the bigfoot carvings. My husband, who loves film history, was excited to be at the location of the filming for parts of Harry and the Hendersons. You can’t go into the building that was used for filming of the North American Museum of Anthropology, but you can get your picture by the door. Nice seating areas and convenient location. Loved it!

We finished the Boeing tour in Mukilteo and wanted to visit Leavenworth. On our way to the German VIllage we spotted this quaint coffee«chalet» and of course Little Harry! Stephen needed a break from driving so we flipped a U turn and came back here for a beverage and snack. The lady was super nice, but not very talkative. She made my soy chai and for Stephen his double shot latte. Prices were very reasonable, and there’s 11 types of «milk» to make your beverage. They also have other soft drinks and teas, and little snacks like peanuts, slim jims, cookies, ice cream and such. The down part is their toilet is a portapotty(which I didn’t dare to use), but they have a big area to let your dog relieve him/herself. They offer walk up or drive thru, and if you want to see a bigger statue of Harry(from Harry and the Hendersen), walk down the path.

When ever we cross of Highway 2 to Leavenworth during the white water rafting season(which is at least once a weekend for 3 months) this is our morning coffee stop. Egg Nog lattes all year long baby, nuff said. Service is friendly, prices are fair, and the view is amazing.

This place is great if you’re looking for a new espresso drink at an affordable price! They have an extensive menu. My favorite is the hot or iced mocha with a chili spice which has just the right kick. The baristas are very friendly and do a great job. A chocolate covered espresso bean that comes with a drink order makes this a 5 star espresso stand.

Big Foot & waterfalls! All I wanted was a black drip coffee, they didn’t have any. WTF? If ya like Harry and the Henderson’s, drop on by & check out the old and moldy costume they have barred behind shiny glass. I’m a bit bitter, an Espresso shop should ALWAYS have regular drip coffee. DUH.

Upon the recommendation of friends, we stopped here for milkshakes on the way home from Leavenworth. If you want options – and they’ve got them – and don’t mind nothing more than soft-serve vanilla ice cream mix(NOT ice cream, mind you, but the milk mix) with Torani syrup + ice, then by all means, go here for a milkshake. My bf and I must be milkshake snobs I guess. I ordered the kahlua almond fudge and he ordered the peppermint patty. We both took a few sips and tossed them in the trash. Super processed tasting, the wrong texture, and just not that good. But hey, they apparently have 170+flavors.

I literally MUST stop here every time I am driving east of the mountains. Even when I’m not driving, I make it a point to beg whoever is driving to stop. The drinks are always fantastic, the site has a fun array of memorabilia, and the chocolate covered espresso beans they place on your cup is always a nice treat. I’ve been stopping here for over 10 years now, and as long as it stays just as it is, I will continue to!

What a great little spot! I just wish my local coffee place had so many options. Here are some points of interest: — they serve Dilletante Mochas — they make an awesome«Frappuccino» — they have every milk option possible, including Goat, Hemp and EGGNOGYEARROUND!!! — clearly a nice family operation — everyone needs a cheezy picture with the bigfoot :)

Super cool spot alongside Hwy 2 to stop for a potty rest, an espresso drink, and some sweet goodness — including an appropriate«big foot» cookie. Lots of photo opps and more stuff squished into that dinky little camper than you can imagine! Darn good Americanos and the chai served is Oregon Chai.

Even if the espresso hadn’t been great – and it was great – we would have been fans of a roadside coffee stop run out of a tiny camper shell. As if that wasn’t enough, there is also a huge wooden statue of Bigfoot. This most famous of sasquaches is like 3 times as tall as the pimp coffee camper… and aptly holding strong to a snowboard. Big coffee + Bigfoot + Tiny Camper = AWESOME.
