Price Chopper

Good salad bar. All the fixings you could want. On tuesdays it is set up for tacos. I give it two stars because the cashiers are not the friendliest people. No «hi» no smile. Nothing. Smh. This store needs better customer service.

I’m a regular Price Chopper Shopper at 4201 S Noland Rd. In Independence Missouri and have been for many years. I love their everyday prices and their sales. I have encountered 2 episodes of spoiled milk in 2 weeks. I bought a gallon of 2% and brought it straight home then put it in my brand new ice cold refrigerator. We drank some that evening and it was fine. About 3 days later I made a bowl of cereal. I put a spoonful in my mouth and immediately gagged. It was 100% going bad. It was never left out. There are 3 adults in my household and no children. All of us pour whatever amount we need at the refrigerator door and place the jug right back in. I did not return it because I had already thrown the receipt away. I bought my next milk from hyvee with no problems. Fast Forward another week, I went to Price Chopper again to get some advertised sale items and I purchased another gallon of milk with a different brand. Just like the previous jug the expiration was a few weeks away. 3 or 4 days later I had another jug of Spoiled milk. This has me wondering if PC changes the exp. Dates on milk to prevent loosing money on milk that doesn’t sell before the expiration dates. All I know is that at $ 5 a gallon I will not be buying milk from there ever again.

Beautiful store but they really need to step up cashier’s speed.

I visit this Price Chopper weekly, ever since I was a child with my grandparents. I have never had a bad experience. Produce section is stocked beautifully, as well as their shelves. Also I love their salad bar! The only thing I wish was better is the selection of organic, gluten free, and vegetarian options. The employees are very helpful and always kind. I am happy to call this my neighborhood Price Chopper!

Ew… Price Chopper has gone downhill. I shopped there yesterday, cause I was in the same parking lot at Petco. I had a few groceries to buy.
Their produce was, and is always beautiful, it’s the rest of the store that’s not so good.
I checked out the deli area, and the twice baked potatoes looked delicious. I bought 2 asking the employee how to cook them. I said, «425 for 30 minutes?» She replied, sharply, «no no, 1 minute.» I said, «I don’t like to microwave that much. Can I oven bake them?» She said, No no, 1 minute.”. I said, «1 minute at 425 in the oven?» She said, «No no one minute. Just one minute.» (Ended up cooking them 425 for 30, and they were delicious.) Then, I asked the same employee for 6 slices of turkey. She grabbed 20. I said, «No, I want 6.» She threw the extra slices back in the bin, and said, «Is this fine?» I said, «No, I want 6.» She threw 4 back, and I think I ended up with 6.
I went to the meat department, and bought chicken, and a few other things. Their gluten free department wasn’t that grand, so I passed that up, and paid. I noticed Price Chopper prices are way higher than Hy-​Vee.
I bought pumpernickle bread baked in the bakery, and it wasn’t very fresh today. Fail all around.
I was thawing the chicken today, and noticed a smell. My dog was in the room, but I knew it didn’t smell like my dog. I started to smell the chicken, and the stink rising from it smelled of decayed rottenenss, making me nearly barf. The one piece smelled decayed, like salmonella smells, the other 2 pieces in the same container kind of smelled. I promptly threw it away, Cloroxed everything, and restarted with another group of chicken from Hy-​Vee.
Well, for almost ruining my dinner, and insisting I microwave, unneedfully, I am lowering my review to one star. No longer will I go into Price Chopper. I am done.
Just an update, they refunded me the money for the chicken, agreeing that it was really gross.
