Appletree Inn

We have stayed here for two nights. The room is large, pretty, and very clean. Plenty of space to spread stuff out.
The pool is very pretty, and the pool area was warm. I enjoyed listening to the waterfall, especially at breakfast. Very peaceful.
Hopefully we will visit again, and stay right here.

It’s a relative 4 star for the area, but 3 on an absolute scale. Clean rooms, friendly staff. Night desk lady is functionally a potted plant. «I’m almost out of towels.»
Um, can I have one? Or, were you saving them for another guest?
All in all a decent deal, but I’ll have no loyalty if a better gig rolls into town. $ 100/​night/​room is a bit much for Montgomery county, Kansas. Mattress felt more like a box spring.
My kids love the chocolate muffins and the pool area. Why does the pool close at 10:30pm? No one knows, but the lady will literally flash the ambient lights so you know it’s 10:25pm. Apparently, it doesn’t matter if you’re being quiet, etc. 10:30pm sharp – she’s got some solitaire to play.
If you don’t have kids, Best Western in Coffeyville may be a better choice for the money.
