He’s been in town for a while, so it’s hard to knock him. My experience: I tried him twice and both times not what I asked for. The latest version 05/19/2016 was an un-even and poorly faded fade. Also he just did what he thought was right, even after I showed him a photo. Sorry Louie, I won’t be returning, even for a correction. I will be paying someone else to fix it. Same thoughts from 2 friends.

I have been getting cut by Louie for 22 years, ever since I moved to Tahoe as a younger me. I remember growing up in Santa Monica with a classic barber, no nonsense, unquestioned quality. When I moved to North Shore I found myself at a loss. Noticing a guy with a classic cut, I inquired; his reply: «Louie». One call, one appointment, one cut, done deal. I have been addicted ever since. Louie is the man!

Louie was great. Little place in and industrial strip mall but the conversation was good and the haircut was straight up. Plus he had the game on a flat screen so it was a nice escape from the fam as well as a good haircut. My tahoe place from here on out.

Louie has been cutting hair for 40+ years. I haven’t tried any of his competitors in the area, but I’m happy with the cut, the price ($ 20), and good conversation. Give him a try. I recommend calling ahead, but it’s not required.
