Oh fudge. From the exterior you expect the candy shop from Willy Wonka, but inside it looks a little dark, dusty and empty. Crushed inner child! Unilocal photos show it full of candy and so cute. Maybe it was just too dark. They definitely had candy though — a big table of salt water taffy, a wall of jelly beans, and M&M’s sorted according to color. One wall of harder to find candy. Not sure what else is in there. There is a lot of open space and behind the counter there is, what, ice cream? Cotton candy? Not sure. I felt a little like I was intruding when the girl came stumbling out from the back. I just ordered fudge and split. That being said, the fudge is pretty good. They were out of plain chocolate, but had plenty of chocolate walnut, peanut butter, and divinity. It’s only $ 2.50 a bar. Not a bad little shop, it’s just not busting at the seams, I guess. Go and fill up on candy before you hit the beach. I will go back for fudge, try the taffy, and explore a bit more.

What got my attention was the Nostalgia theme to this candy shop. Unfortunately, when I went inside it was really dark and hard to see anything, and also the cotton candy wasn’t available which was my main purpose of going inside. I thought when it says cotton candy in the window, there would be some. The guy that was working there said the machine was out for the day. Sad life. The parking is street parking, and the variety of candy is not as ‘vintage’ or old school as much as I’ve hoped. However, that is understandable considering old school candies are obviously no longer made. There are candies in here that are not often seen at your local gas station or grocery store too. I did love their fudge!($ 2.50/each bar) The butter pecan fudge tasted just like the ice cream but more rich in flavor and very sweet. I do plan on coming back, but hopefully next time they have a better variety of candies and have cotton candy ready!

This is a great addition to Imperial Beach, unfortunately the candies, especially the lollipops, were melted. It’s dusty, old and it just looks like a very unkept place — such a shame too, it’s an adorable place.

Imperial Beach has been in need of a candy shop like this for a long time. This is a perfect addition to all the beautiful upgrades this part of 91932 is undergoing. Rick and Angela are the sweetest people in the planet. Their fudge is to die for. I love the chocolate with walnuts. My daughter, who has Type 1 diabetes, loves the sugar free fudge. I’ve tried it and honestly can’t tell the difference. My dad had never heard of saltwater taffy, and when Angela brought it to our store, he was skeptical to try it. Needless to say, he fell in love! Now he has me buying his«stash» once a week! Lol I go in for my chocolate fix once a month(if you catch my drift.) Ladies! This hits the spot at that time. It really does.

I am here at Seaside Candy and the sign clearly says open 11Am-8Pm 7 days a week and I am here at 7:38 and they are closed? I went on Unilocal to see what time they close and it said I have 22 minutes so I rush here and to my surprise there closed. This gave me the worst experience ever from a local buisness ever. I am very disapointed

There are many, many things in life which I know nothing about and baffle me; women, how an airplane really flies and how radio works. But of the things I do know, fudge is one of the things I know best. My grandmother and mother both made terrific fudges. My grandmother is long gone and Mom only has the will at Christmas time so thank goodness I found Seaside Candy and their fudges! Perfectly made and perfect texture with a wide variety to choose from. Add to that a selection of some candies I haven’t seen in years and I have a new place to spend my Saturday allowance!

Very cute candy shop. The staff was wonderful and so friendly. We took our three boys on a Saturday afternoon before heading to Grandma’s for a visit. They each got to pick out a handful of candy and my husband and I got some of their amazing homemade fudge. It was very memorable. The boys still talk about it and ask us to go back. Such a sweet treat.
