Driving home from a stay on the Oregon Coast, we were hoping to find a funky local spot to grab a quick bite around midday. What a find — this place is terrific. It’s basically a permanently-moored food truck located across from the marina in Ilwaco — we only found it thanks to a well-placed sandwich board on the main drag through town. The menu doesn’t sound exciting at first glance but the food is as homemade as it comes and everything is delicious. We sampled the tug boat sandwich(slow-cooked BBQ beef on a roll), a kielbasa sausage(with kraut), the breakfast scramble, and a BLT. Everything was fresh and tasty, especially the hand-cut fries.(Hand-cut fries — who does that? And only a buck!) They serve breakfast and lunch from 4AM(oy!) to 2PM. There’s outdoor seating but it was SO windy when we were there we had to eat in the car. Nice people, too — our kids got a big kick out of the gummy hot dog candies that came with the meal.
