Amazing food! The brisket and pulled pork are really juicy and full of that bbq flavor. I also love their fries and Mac and cheese. The service is always fast and the staff is always freindly. My family has been here 3 or 4 times and every time we go, we leave happy.

The absolute best BBQ I’ve ever had. We have to stop every time we go through Idaho Falls. I’ve had BBQ all across the country from Texas, Florida, California, Iowa, there is none better that I’ve found. No wonder they are 3rd on the world BBQ tour. Simply the bomb. The Hauga Chauga is to die for.

My wife and I just went here for a Valentines Day dinner, because we were hankering for some good BBQ. Pros: The food was delicious. I got the«Two Meat» platter, with brisket, ribs, cornbread, and macaroni and cheese. The brisket was very good, very juicy… but not very hot. The macaroni and cheese was fantastic, it was topped with what I assumed was candied bacon and crumbled potato chips. The portions were very generous. Cons: The place was PACKED. The dining room is very small and the tables are close together. I had to practically grease myself up to get to the soda machine. It took a while to get the food. I’m sure that it didn’t help that it was dinnertime, but I saw three people working there: One girl at the register(she was very fast) and two guys in the back doing the assembling/cooking. You’d think that during rush hour they’d have at least one more person there, either cooking or taking orders. The poor guy that brought out the food looked frazzled. Neutral: The price. It was a bit expensive, but you get what you pay for… delicious BBQ meat. Overall, a good place to eat. I’m sure my wife and I will go again. I don’t think there’s any item on the menu that would disappoint. 4⁄5 stars for the wait and very little space in the dining room, but fantastic food.

Its not a good sign when the best thing you ate were the brisket beans and the corn bread. Overall the taste of the different meats were ok, the brisket didn’t have a strong flavor like other places, the pulled pork was dry, and the ribs were fine but very small. When you pay $ 15.99 for three meats I would expect to get decent sized ribs. The sauce was nothing to scream about but still okay. I went with the competition BBQ sauce because that is the one everyone said was the best. It was a sweeter sauce with not much else. Since I love BBQ more than any other food and I have been to BBQ places all over the country I am particular, I gave them three stars because if was okay and I might be back, but next time I will probably go with a burger.

We’re giving it two stars, because we’re willing to eat it again, and try some other items earlier in the day to see if this was a fluke. My wife and I had to try this place out considering the raving reviews. In all honesty we came to the conclusion that barbecue is a very subjective thing. Many people love the BBQ from a place like this based on the quality they’ve experience in their life. In other words, every time you taste one that is better, one that you thought was good becomes bad in your eyes. The best one we’ve had was actually in California. It was featured on the food network and always sells out all the meats sometimes by 2 or 3pm. The line is out the door, always. We decided to try this place out, and ordered a half pound brisket, half pound of pulled pork, green beans and bacon, and the mac n’ cheese. Let’s start out with the meat. Pulled pork– it wasn’t pulled it was chopped. Very big difference in texture and the fact the meat is so small it can’t stay in a sandwich. Harder to eat, and just not the same texture. It was extremely dry! There was no residual juices, or anything. Thank goodness we asked for more cups of BBQ sauce, because it had a drizzle, but needed an ocean’s worth to be edible. The brisket– Wow that was dry too! Quality brisket is smoked with most of the fat cap on, so that the juices trickle down and tenderize and juicify the meat. Without that, you get a tender but dry piece of meat. This had no juices. None. Anyone who thinks this is good brisket, truly has no idea what good brisket tastes like. BBQ Sauce– I know there were multiple kinds, but the one we had was weak! Having to drown your meal in sauce means that the sauce is either bland or watered down. A good quality sauce touches on sweet, heat, and usually tanginess(achieved through vinegar). We love sauces that are very vinegar based. This one just tasted a little bit sweet. We ran out of our two cups of sauce half way into the meal. Disappointing Mac N’ Cheese– It was alright. We’ve had some fancy Mac N’ Cheese from more expensive restaurants. It really comes down to making it interesting with dry spices. This was bland, and had a weird crumbly texture, the sauce reminded us of ricotta. It almost seemed like someone tried to start out with a rue, and the rue failed. Beans– they were fine. This may have all been because we came later in the evening, but my wife made the good point that Blisters in Rexburg has juicy meat at all hours. This place has won competitions, but the only competitors in Idaho falls are chain restaurants though– Dickey’s, Texas Roadhouse, and Famous Daves. It’s clear to see when a place is a monopoly, why it appears to be quality. Winning barbecue awards in Idaho falls is akin to winning a beauty pageant in Rexburg.

BBQ is one of our favorite food groups. We have had some of the worst and the best, from Famous Dave’s to the premier Austin, TX locations. Have to say that the brisket here is some of the tastiest and most tender we have experienced. Their signature sauce also rocks. Great job!

Came for a quick lunch weary of the logo and was delighted by the food. You need some pig candy in your life — sweet twist to traditional smoky bacon.

Excellent ribs, the meat just falls off the bone and the flavor is fantastic. The corn bread is «moist» a still good but I like the dry stuff better. The beans were too sweet for me so I should have got the mac n cheese.

This is a comment, regarding 2 different instances at this business. 1st one was the worst sort of customer service I have witnessed in some time. Front of house had no communication from back of house. When back of house, finally, chose to react. The entire operation shut down, with a full restaurant! The apparent back of house lead, left the poor gal in front, in tears… due to his inabilities. Sorry representation of a great product. 2nd…Call ahead order, we live a block and a half away. Arrived, order hadn’t even been started. Excuses made us understand, subsequent orders were more important. Our call ahead, got shuffled back until our arrival. Ended up with a 40 minute wait. Upon getting our order… dove in, burnt ends only on weekends, ordered plenty. Came to find chopped brisket, instead of burnt ends! Anyone that has eaten or likes them, know there is a difference, apparently they don’t know the difference(this time) or were hoping we didn’t. Either way, the trend of no customer service/appreciation, is going to cost them a customer. I have recommended this business, repeatedly. I am a dam fine bbq cook, myself. Wondering if my recommendations have ended up with dissatisfaction, too. I will no longer recommend, and will strongly consider not returning. Sad, the food has been great, for alot of visits.

OK, this is a savvy business owner who reads his reviews. I went back for the brisket, and an order of fries and both were great. The brisket was warm and moist, barely any fat, and with a small amount of sauce on the sandwich. The fries were much less salty, greatly improved. The sandwich roll is good for another meal almost, and best with the honey that is on the table and the competition sauce. Someone walked by with a quesadilla, and I spotted a grilled cheese that both looked good. Thanks for reading, Ron!

Great little BBQ place! Stopped here on our way back to Ca, had the pork sandwich and husband had brisket… We both loved it! We also ended up stealing the Mac and cheese from the kids and it was amazing! Great smokey flavor to it!

Dangit, man! BBQ gets me EVERY. TIME. I don’t know if this qualifies as «authentic southern barbeque» by a southern standard, but it definitely qualifies as «really #@!$ delicious barbeque» by MY standard. The meat is saucy and juicy and perfectly cooked, and the brick-o-cornbread was huge, warm, and mildly flavored. The beans(which were recommended as a favorite) WERE good… however… they kinda tasted exactly like the pulled pork, swimming in a pool of their«competition» BBQ sauce.(Which, don’t get me wrong… was AMAZING… but it was heavy and maybe not a very unique baked bean flavor.) It felt a little over-priced but maybe that’s what you get for good quality meats? Either way, it’s worth it. I also loved the stack of wood out back by the smoker. The whole group left feeling like a bunch of happy, stuffed pigs, full of juicy, pulled pig. Nom.

Pork ribs were AMAZING. Great flavor, fall-off-the-bone tenderness, high quality meat with no rubbery or fatty parts. Cornbread was moist. BBQ beans were delicious. Sides of chipotle and bourbon sauces were good too, there was no guessing what was what. I walked in just before closing so just wish they had waited till after closing to clean out the iced tea dispenser. If I lived nearby, I would eat here all the time!

We LOVE good BBQ. So when driving thru Idaho Falls at lunchtime, we found this place. Fortunately for us, it’s Saturday and the Saturday Special is the Burnt Ends platter.(We had read about the Burnt Ends in Unilocal reviews so we wanted to order them.) All we can say is O.M.G. The Burnt Ends were fantastic. And the Rob’s Favorite platter(brisket sando topped with onion rings and provolone cheese) was good. The fries were really good. The only negative was that the cornbread was served cold. It was good, but cornbread should be served warm.

Outstanding! There’s bbq and then there’s competition bbq. This is competition winning bbq at its best! Order a sampler, order by the pound. They got you covered. Whatever you get you know it will be meatastic.

The ribs were legit. Soft and tasty. The corn bread so flavorful and moist. The fries were amongst the best. The pulled pork and brisket I had at the time was dry, but with their home made BBQ sauce, I hardly noticed. First time was a great experience. Will be back again!

I’m a judge for the Pacific Northwest Barbecue Association so I eat a lot good Q. I can’t say this of the most of the restaurants where I’ve eaten BBQ, except now. The ribs I had here were hands down the best ribs I’ve eaten at a commercial establishment. The baked beans were also some of the best I’ve had. I can’t say the same for the chicken, which was a little dry. Also, the cornbread was typical of most northern restaurants; more of a sweet, cake-like, side than good olé southern cornbread. Nevertheless, this was some good food. I plan to eat here often.

Ribs done right. Smoked to perfection and NOT fall off the bone as most people in the west think ribs should be. Ribs that are cooked right should be firm and pull away when you bite into them but not falling away. The carmalization of the sauce hits the sweet spot and finishes off the perfect combo of a deep smoked to the bone rib with great sauce. The service and wait time is the only thing holding this place back from five stars.

Being from the south, we take our BBQ pretty seriously. We were driving through on our way to Glacier National Park, and decided to stop for a quick bite. As we pulled up, I was a little concerned as it seemed a little too clean and corporate on the outside. Most great BBQ joints at have a little grime to them. All the medals on the wall were a good sign. While the pulled pork was nothing special, the ribs and the brisket were excellent. Go with the original competition sauce. If you are looking for great taste, the best item on the menu is the«pork candy.» Caramelized brown sugar coated thick cut bacon? Healthy? Of course not… But I promise you won’t care.
