Cache Valley Limo’s Airport Shuttle

Be warned! If you make a reservation online and then want to change to a less expensive service, you are out of luck. If you paid online for door-​to-​door service and then learn that someone could pick you up at a drop-​off spot, saving almost half the fare, you canl change the drop-​off, but you don’t get a refund.
I have appreciated this service in the past as the best way to get from the airport to Logan, but the no-​refund policy makes me long for an alternative.

This is hands down the worst shuttle service I’ve ever used and I use them frequently all across North America. From the moment I attempted to make a reservation to the final drop off at Salt Lake City airport, my experience was awful.
Customer experience #1 — I spent nearly an hour trying to get their website to accept my reservation. When I finally called them, they said, «oh our website doesn’t work very well.» Then take it down, for Pete’s sake, and require people to call. The conference I was speaking at said the shuttle would drop me off directly at the conference center, which was 4 blocks from the closest drop-​off spot and the guy who took my reservation over the phone acknowledged that as well. (I had 2 large suitcases filled with heavy training supplies.)
Customer experience #2 — When the van picked me up at the Salt Lake airport, the driver told me he couldn’t drop me off at the conference center because it wasn’t a designated drop-​off spot. I explained the conference arranged for this exception. He resisted and resisted and I finally convinced him that his own people said this was OK. Again, very painful.
And this was just the beginning of my 1.25 hr drive to Salt Lake. About half way there, the driver began making derogatory comments about people who drive foreign cars (that would be me). I had to listen to this guy rant about how we’re giving all our money to Japan etc. I surely don’t want to be held captive while a driver pontificates about his or her political views. Completely inappropriate.
I was never more relieved to get out of a van as I was that day. Interestingly, the conference center was less than a half mile from one of their regular stops. This fact will come into play later.
Customer experience #3 — I was already dreading having this company take me back to the airport. Naturally, they were late picking me up – only by 5 – 10 mins but it added unnecessary stress to that which travel already creates. The driver mentioned he needed to pick up one more customer. I assumed it was at one of their designated pick-​up/​drop-​off spots. No. It was in the middle of absolutely no where at a dairy farm, which the driver couldn’t find. We drove around a rural area with horrible roads completely lost. It was me, not the driver, who finally called the shuttle service to ask for help. They couldn’t help. How one operates a shuttle service without GPS or at least reliable maps escapes me.
We finally found the dairy farm but what makes it OK to pick up someone miles and miles from designated spots, but not OK to drop someone with two suitcases full of training supplies 4 blocks from a designated spot?
Final note — you do indeed get what you pay for. The price from SLC airport to Logan was shockingly low. But the vans were extremely old and so were the drivers.
All in all, a terrible experience. I will never ever use this company again — even if it means spending $ 200 in taxi fare to get to Logan.
