Great shop! Very friendly and accommodating. They recently repaired a brake line on our 2004 Chevy Blazer and even threw in a free inspection on our Trans Am too. Wish they had Saturday hours, but we’ll keep going back here regardless.

I was driving my car(1999 Subaru Impreza) to work when about 2 miles from my stop it sputtered white smoke and began to overheat. I managed to get to work and park it. I asked some people from the local area for a recommendation and Abel’s Automotive was suggested. I called over and spoke to Dwayne. He sent the tow truck over and they took the car to the shop. Within a few hours he called to say they had found a broken house, fixed it, replaced the coolant, and had let the car fun and I could come pick it up. Since I had expected a broken head gasket, I was thrilled. I picked the car up right as they were closing and began driving down the road. I noticed that it was overheating so turned around and called the shop. I left a rather desperate message saying I was coming back and hopefully somebody would still be there. When I pulled in I could see all three guys from the shop waiting with a hose. They immediately cooled off the car and tried to figure out the problem. I told them it was no rush since I was going out of town and they could keep it for a bit. All three were so kind and nice about everything. They genuinely felt bad about letting me take the car, even though it had been running fine for several hours before I drove it. The problem was diagnosed as a busted thermostat control thing. They also discovered that my previous(idiot) mechanic had improperly installed a wheel bearing causing the spindle to break. It could have broken while I was driving it and left me stranded or worse! They found a very reasonably priced used part and had the car up and running when I returned. They test drove it over 10 miles, gave me the busted part for proof, clearly explained everything that had happened, and wrote on the bill that the busted spindle was due to previously improperly installed wheel bearing. The guys at Abel’s are amazing. They treat their customers with respect and dignity. They definitely don’t try to sham you and will work with you to find used parts etc. Plus two days ago they called just to check on the car because it’s been about a month! I have definitely found my new mechanic!!!

One of my co-worker’s recommended this place, saying he would vouch for them. I dropped off my car. I got a call from the secretary who explained I really need a new battery and a tire rotation. Having never changed the battery, I figured it was a good time to get a new one. I agreed to everything and asked for the cabin filter to be replaced. The secretary said she’d call me back to tell me when my car was ready, probably around 4:30 p.m. I never got a call. But I phoned the place at 5. A man who I think might have been the owner said the car was ready and was willing to stay open if I got there quickly. The man told me they had to do a lot of work to install the cabin filter. The space underneath my hood near my windshield had been filled with leaves, twigs, branches, decomposing leaves and more. «We had to blow it all out,» he said. «I have to park my car under a tree,» I explained. When I looked at my car, it was clean. No other mechanic had ever cleared the debris like that. It was beautiful. And that’s why I’m coming back.
