Really cool, eclectic stuff — furniture, accessories, etc. — for great prices. Friendly staff. Great mission.

I first found Tanglewood Works at the Riverdale Park Winter Market. Now I stop by almost every week. I seriously love Tanglewood Works! It’s so great that it’s located right next to Community Forklift. The upcycled and recycled furniture and home goods are so creative. I get great ideas each time I’m in the store, and I keep going back since they have new things each week! Super excited about shopping at Tanglewood Works for upcycled holiday gifts this season!

Better than Anthropologie– I love this studio! I have bought several beautiful iron hanging pieces for my front porch. On one occasion, the price wasn’t listed, so they had to call the artisan directly to ascertain the cost. It showed me what a deep relationship they have with the people who create or reimagine these beautiful objects. Merchandise goes quickly(it’s usually all fresh the once a month I stop by) so be sure to grab what you like when you see it or you may miss the chance to take it home.

This place is fun and funkalicious. Sue upcycles all sorts of things into cool furniture and knicknacks. Also sells locally made crafts and artsy doodads. Everything is is well priced and the inventory is always changing.

An awesome spot with great selection, funky pieces and the nicest Dumpster Diva you can find. Sue has a great eye and regularly updates the design of her store. I especially love Christmastime, with twinkly lights in every corner! A well-kept secret, attached to the wonderful community forklift. Check it out next time you’re in town.

I love this place! Great upcycled pieces with everything from jewelry to large pieces of furniture and everything in between. It’s very hard to leave without buying something! I recently took a DIY class(image transfer) in the new maker space – totally worth the time and now I know what I’m giving out for gifts this year! Can’t wait to take the chalk paint class this month, and looking forward to new classes in future.

This is a neat up-cycle boutique with fun furniture and accessories. It is amazing what color and a good eye can do for old and outdated pieces. The owner, Sue, is an adorable bundle of energy. I am envious of her ability to match contemporary colors with retro furniture. Even if you are not shopping for larger home goods, you can always find terrific seasonal gifts like scarves, jewelry, and pottery. I LOVE the JohnRileyPottery that the store carries(cool rustic colanders, pie plates, shaving mugs, vases, and more) – all made locally in DC. If you plan to make a trip to Community Forklift or need some fun and functional items for your home, definitely make a stop here.

Eclectic and exciting! I furnished my dining room with eureka moments at this shop, walking in to find exactly what I was looking for that fit my style and my space. Great art, jewelry, and accessories too. Sue snd her team rock!

I get inspired every time I visit this shop! So many artists doing unique up-cycling and reinventing. Great place to get everything from a unique dresser, a pair of funky earrings, or a set of chairs with a great patina. And the prices are so reasonable! I definitely check this place out whenever I am in the area. I’ve purchased three items so far: a great iron tree display thingie, a ring made from a silver spoon, and an antique dresser done up with chalk paint. The owner is super fun and knowledgable and gives you a discount if you post a pic of your purchase on line. Love this place!
