Surf Club

The sign on the top of the building says «Chick Halls’ Surf Club», but the regulars just call it «The Surf Club». Someone said it’s been around for 50 years!
This is a blues dive. It’s larger than I expected. Note that smoking isn’t allowed in Maryland bars anymore. I came with a group of about 8 people and we got a big table right next to the rather large dance floor. Lots of people were blues dancing. Stacy Brooks and a bunch of others were on the program, raising money for the D.C. Blues Society. The music and sound were great, and we all had a good time.
I don’t drink, so I can’t review the bar, per se. There is a small menu of fried items: we had a shrimp basket, and it was fine.
There are a bunch of pool tables on the other side of the bar.
