I love this place, I’ve been coming here with my parents since I was a baby and 20 years later the food is still consistently amazing! I’m not big on ambiance but this restaurant deserves 5 stars because the food is just that good. This is the best Italian food next to Carmine’s in DC. Great service always nice and accommodating. I read previous reviews and I don’t understand why people complain about so much about how it looks or its in a bad neighborhood. This is not the hood. Don’t listen to them and try this restaurant you won’t be disappointed.

Older establishment with prompt service; however, if you looking for ambiance or eclectic evening, this may not be the preferred choice. More so a local favorite, food is mediocre.

Oh Fratelli’s, time has not been kind! Went here about a month ago and deeply regret it. The food and service were equally terrible and they were grossly overpriced. On top of it they had kids playing in the kitchen the whole time — talk about unsanitary. The first clue should have been that we were the ONLY guests at 7pm on a Friday night. Used to really enjoy it here but will never go back.

Excellent food and service. Everything was fresh and well prepared. A hidden gem with great service and a pleasant atmosphere. Please give it a chance. This is the best Northern Italian cuisine outside of Little Italy.

Fratelli Restaurant looks like a prime candidate for one of those Restaurant makeover shows. The décor is terribly dated. The food was just OK, but the desserts were delicious. We may try again some day.

We walked in and walked back out! Mold, stains on ceiling, this placed just smelled old and disgusting! Talk about Kitchen Nightmare, this place needs to be knocked down.

Wow. The food was almost unbelievably bad. Canned sauce, old seafood, terrible bread, everything was pretty gross. I would never want to eat that meal ever again. On addition to the nasty food, the carpet was sticky. STICKY! How does the carpet get sticky? There is obviously a issue with cleanliness. The service was fine and the woman that served us was very sweet but service isn’t what makes me want to eat a place. Bottom line: skip this place.

This is a quiet, old-school Italian get away on a hill near 295. The roses are beautiful, the service is quick and the food is tasty. Exactly what you expect from an Italian restaurant that looks exactly the way it did when it started(I would imagine). The portions were generous and everything was delicious. Definitely will go back!

I was very impressed with this establishment. It’s location and outside appearance is very deceiving. We walked into here is street clothes and immediately felt under dress absolutely no complains. Good service, good food, nice environment, and good bread like most Italian places. Would definitely go here again plus if you stay at the Howard Johnson hotel next to it you get a 10% discount.

This place is great for sunday brunch. You pay around $ 15 and it includes a really good buffet with an omelet and waffle station. Also includes 3 mimosas. I’ve been here with a large party and they accommodated us with a private room too. I really like this place.

Ok, you might not want to believe me, but I was there about two years ago and found a roach BAKEDINTOBREAD. What really irked me was when presented with this the hostess wasn’t floored by it! Now I’m sure all kitchens have infestation issues, but the fact that mine was baked into the bread almost made me lose my spaghetti, which tasted like canned sauce by the way. I want to like this place but there is no way I can let that slide.

Not very good at all. Very well written menu, as everything sounds good. We ordered a ton of food so let me begin… Trout stuffed w crab… gross. Fruta del. mar app… gross. the shrimp was disgusting, tastes awful and old. Clams were the grossest part, also old. Stuffed mushrooms w crab, alright. Fried calamari, awful. How do u even mess it up? It’s fried! Eggplant parm, not tasty and is giving off a strange gas smell… seriously. Lasagna…plain and boring. Salmon was good. Very tasty. Cape a la something or other, it was ok. Every meal comes with spaghetti. weird for a «nice» restaurant… and all spaghetti is overcooked, drenched in sauce that was DEFINITELY ragu. This is the worst restaurant my family has ever eaten at. Very expensive for shit food. Don’t bother eating there.

Fratelli in Cheverly, MD was a great dinning experience. I went to a party which was held in a private room. The Northern Itallian Cuisine was prepared fresh per order. The meal started with fresh baked bread and the best minestrone soup, I have ever tasted. My entrée was baked salmon and pasta, which was delicious. The carrot cake for desert was delectable. The owner was very friendly and the overall service was excellent.

One of Cheverly’s best kept secrets! A true hidden gem. My family has been coming here for years. Not sure how we stumbled upon it, but it’s definitely a place that fits the description«Don’t judge a book by its cover.» Sure it sits in between an Exxon gas station and a Howard Johnson’s hotel, but it’s excellent dining. The staff is very attentive and gracious. The cream sauces are delicious. Definitely a step up from your typical Olive Garden. The only time I’ve seen this place exceptionally crowded was on Valentine’s Day. Other times I have gone, I have seen large groups(travelers from the nearby hotel, families celebrating bdays, etc.) in there and our service time never lacks. It’s definitely nice to go to a family-owned restaurant among all of the fast food/carry-out places in the area.

Very surprising find! Looks like a family restaurant in small-town USA. Good service, clean, friendly — and the food was surprisingly great! I has the chicken piccata and my hubby had a veal dish. Both were fantastic. Transport those dishes to a fancier restaurant in DC with a better wine llist and that restaurant would be on many ‘top 10′ lists!

An old-fashioned neighborhood restaurant, friendly and reliable — the way restaurants used to be before they were all chrome and glass with celebrity chefs and hipster clients. If you want a low-key, delicious dinner where you can actually have a conversation with your companions, Fratelli’s is a solid choice. Tasty house dressing, hot bread, and classic Italian entrees. I’ve had the chicken piccata and the mixed seafood entrée. Nice staff, white tablecloths, nothing pretentious. There’s a dinner special Monday thru Wednesday, $ 29.95 for two people, with a selection of entrees plus a dessert choice. My sweetie and I live in Cheverly and we didn’t even know it was there for a couple years.(It’s located where B/W Parkway 295 and 202 meet, but it’s hard to see from the road). We still probably wouldn’t have gone, except that a friend vouched for it; it has become one of our favorites. We encourage others to check it out!

I went here with a bunch of friends to celebrate a birthday. To be honest, I had heard about Fratelli’s but wasn’t too sure it was the place to go. It turns out to have been a great choice. Yes, it is in a kinda outta the way location that used to be a Howard Johnson(there is even a Howard Johnson sign at the bottom of the hill) and, in some ways, the restaurant is a little long in the tooth. However, the food is excellent and the service is both attentive and friendly. I wouldn’t go so far as to say it is the absolute best Italian place I’ve been to which is why it’s only four stars instead of five but I would certainly return and I can heartily recommend it to anyone looking for a place for a quiet dinner with good food where you aren’t sitting on top of the table next to you. A solid four stars.

Dear all college park dudes: Take a girl here, and she will sleep with you afterwards. And yes, it looks like a total hole from outside, and is in a terrible location. Ignore these things. Make sure to joke during the meal about how there are mafioso staring at you from behind the numerous mirrors in the restaurant. That is all.
