Hutto Solar Nails & Spa Salon

I went in to have shellac removed and a polish change. So the lady who did my nails was very rough with the silver tool to remove the shellac. To make it worse I noticed when my nails were being cut down that the clippers were rusty. I still let her go on thinking it had to get better. She then pulls out a very coarse emory board for my natural nails and she starts to file. She hurt me twice. Straight painful slices on my pinky and my ring finger caused by the rough emory and her reckless filing. It hurt so bad I didn’t see it coming and I squeezed her hand very hard because my fingers burned. I couldn’t see the cuts yet though. I could only feel them so I went to wash my hands as I was told. She then put the shellac on way too thick. I went here as a sorry substitute to a place I go all the time by appointment but I couldn’t get into my regular salon that day. I’ve had to clean my two cuts, put neosporin with pain relief on my cuts all day and take aspirin for pain as my nail beds were achy. She was so rough about everything. She did let up but damage had already been done. I am so disappointed. If I had of recognizing the cuts she caused with the emory board that she was rough with that was way to coarse for my natural nail bed I would have showed someone in charge and left way before her service ended. I paid 25.00 for shellac removal without a manicure and shellac polish. So I got ripped off too. I will NEVER EVER go back to this place. Knowing what I know about nails I don’t know why I settled for somewhere I didn’t know. I was so disappointed I got in touch with my usual tech and salon that day and begged her to fix my nails. They were also ugly. My hands are still sore, especially where she filed roughly and split my skin but at least they’re pretty again thanks to my usual tech and salon fitting me in. Please if you’re reading this don’t settle for mediocre services anywhere. This is not a good salon. They might have one good tech and its the male that works there. Maybe. Never again. Doesn’t even deserve 1 star for service and after all of that I had to ask for a drink. The tech did try to be nice but it didn’t seem genuine just routine to me.

Great pedicures and shellac nails last about 3 weeks without chipping. Nice assortment of colors and staff is friendly.

Very friendly staff, clean, awesome art painted in the walls. Got my nails and eyebrows waxed and was very happy with the results.

Still my favorite nail salon bar none! And, discovered today that Kelly is in the process of upgrading her chairs. The new ones are delightful!

I have been coming to Solar Nails every other Saturday since November with my Mother-​in-​law. Let me tell you, I will never go anywhere else! The girls here are top notch! I never have any lifting or peeling. Anything that isn’t perfect is redone before I even notice! Kelly is definitely a perfectionist! We schedule ahead of time and we are always welcomed warmly. They do such a great job working on both of us at the same time. Looking for a reliable, consistent nail salon? This is it!

These girls are fun and friendly. Oh … And they do great work. They take their time to make sure your mani/​pedi is perfect.

I got my nails filled. Didn’t seem to be too detail oriented. Did the bare minimum compared to other places. The tips are crooked and some nails are thinner and thicker in places. The way I wanted the polish wasn’t done, it was done the way he wanted, which came out uneven. The polish is on the side of my fingers and some aren’t even on my whole nail. To top it off the subpar fill was $ 20! Only reason for 2 stars is they were nice and did offer me something to drink. Just wish a bit more attention to detail and not rush so much (I was the only one in there).

I was going to another salon for about two years until I found this gem! I’ve had nothing but great experiences with Jenny and Kelly. They are my go to ladies, and Kelly always hooks me up with new styles. I’m always complemented on how great my nails look! I’ll never go anywhere else but here, and I really appreciate Kelly’s attention to detail. She’s fabulous!!!

First time here, Unilocal reviews brought me, and i loved it! I got the classic mani/​pedi for $ 35 and Foot Spa $ 10. I came in at 9:30am and i was the first one in. The service was great! Planning to be a regular here.

I had the Spa Pedi for $ 25– included hot stone foot/​calf massage– great price and Jenny’s attention to detail was great! Staff is very friendly. I’ll definitely be back. :-)

I will start with the one positive. My daughters finger/​toe nails look cute and she loves them. (Only painted)
I looked on Unilocal last night and found this salon open at 9am Saturday morning. We had somewhere to be so we got there 5 minutes prior to 9. Nobody in sight in the parking lot. 9am came and went and still nobody there to open. I tried calling… no answer, of course. At 9:10 a man opened the door. We followed him in and stood at the front counter without a single word from him for 5 minutes while he was in the back doing whatever he was doing. Very rude and un welcoming. He tells her where to sit and a few other women workers start flowing in. The lady that started on my daughters toe nails never said a word to either of us. One minute into her services she gets on her cell phone and talks on it the entire time. Again. very rude and un welcoming. I thought maybe she didn’t speak english only to realize otherwise once she sat down with her next customer. Her voice was the only one we heard nearly the whole time she was with that client.
There were huge crickets inside the shop as we entered and there were small beetles crawling the shop floor the whole time we were there… no less than 10… keeping in mind she only got her nails painted.
They started an incense that honestly not only smelled like cigarette smoke but felt like it… trying to breath. So uncomfortable.
I noticed when my daughter got up from the pedicure chair there was no sanitation… picked up the towel and put arm rests down.
Lastly, we got up from her nails drying (I checked them to make sure they were dry and I took her feet pieces off. The guy never said another word to us) and we start to walk out and not ONE worker said bye… thank you… have a good day… NOTHING. Once again… RUDE AND UN WELCOMING. Would never use this salon again!

WORST experience i’ve ever had at a nail shop! I was so excited to try a new place in Hutto since I moved here a couple years ago and boy was I let down. I was very appreciative that they took me at 6:45(being that they closed at 7pm) however I would’ve never come if I knew the experience I was about to endure. All I got was a solar nail fill and she started cutting them down and immediately sliced open my middle finger and said, «well maybe next time you shouldn’t get them cut down so short!» I couldn’t believe she said that. She put this green liquid on it to stop the bleeding and warned me it would burn. She then started placing the pink powder on and completely missed half of my pinky finger so I pointed it out to her and she rolled her eyes and threw some powder on top of it (looked worse). She had to completely re-​do another one of my fingers because of the terrible job she did. Every single finger is completely crooked and lumpy (not filed correctly). All in all… TERRIBLE job and I will never be giving this place my business again. I will continue my search. STAY AWAY!!!

Love this place… very friendly staff… clean. newly packaged utensils… and they have a Unilocal deal that is a great price!

i’ve lived in Hutto since 2010 and today was me & my daughter’s first visit and we enjoyed our pedicures very much… my nail tech was Lynn she was very nice and did a wonderful job on my pedi. Solar Nails is very clean, reasonable and the staff is friendly which I appreciate very much. I will definitely be going back to Solar nails & recommended to my friends.

Rating based on the sweet staff, decent prices and they offer beverages and snacks. I had a small wait, but I purchased the deal on Unilocal so it was worth it! Will definitely be back.

I had a really bad experience with this nail shop. The pedi was good but the manicure was horrible. The tech that did my nails screwed them up so bad!!! I was very disappointed in the quality of the work I will never return again!

Got mine and my 2 daughters nails done, and an eyebrow wax here the other day. I was so surprised how affordable they are! I didn’t have an appointment so there was a very small wait, but I didn’t mind. The ladies that work there cracked me up too! It was a great experience and helping support my towns small businesses!

In my quest to keep cash in my community, I stumbled across Solar Nails and decided to give them a shot. They are an up and coming salon who will be offering eyelash extensions soon.
Since it’s on the other side of Exchange Blvd, it is a bit off the beaten path. That means I’ve never had to wait for an appointment (hooray!)
