Amazing food! The staff is about average, but the layout of this place makes it soooo loud. Definitely worth going back for the food though.

Went to dinner with Mac and Cheese and lovely Cornbread,(not their real names) it was not a good experience. Two hamburgers were fair, fries and tots were good. Chicken fried steak was over done. Much confusion on what comes on a Philly cheese burger. The fix was not good, took the same burger off the bun and it was falling apart on the reserving attempt. Manager was responsive to input. Were the nine pennies received from change a passive/aggressive move on the part of the frustrated waitress? Don’t know for sure. On the upside, they have a good selection of local craft beer.

Terrible steakhouse. Bad service and even worse customer satisfaction. Waited over 3 hours to get food. Supposedly ticket never made it to the kitchen even though salad and appetizer was delivered timely. Owner took $ 4.37 off $ 18 steak. Really $ 4.37 discount for over 3 hours of my time? Also small portions for the $. Highly suggest avoiding!

I liked this place. Quiet, friendly, comfortable. I didn’t eat because it was late. They have another location up in Little River, where I would like to visit some day.

Like many small town Kansas restaurants, this has a hole in the wall feel, but I must say I am thoroughly impressed. My wife and I ordered the fried okra and the fried green beans. Both excellent without too much breading. For our main meal she ordered the steak salad. It was more rare the medium rare(I am thankful for under done rather then over done when it comes to steak), but it was nicely seasoned. For my selection I had to ask our server what she recommended. I was struggling to choose, but she directed me to the Boxcar burger. It did not disappoint. Flavorful without being overly appointed. Oh, and the house potato chips were crisp.

This is one of those restaurants that once you eat there, you’ll have trouble going to other places. It’s definitely the best bar-type restaurant in Hutch. Prices are reasonable, they often run drink specials even on weekend nights, and service is always good, especially Travis and Allena! It gets a bit crowded because it’s a long, narrow space, but it’s still fun to eat there. Their spicy cheese bites are typical frozen pepper jack cheese balls, but they’re tasty and they’ll let you sub them for your usual side. And while I won’t eat it, my boyfriend says their side of fried cabbage with bacon is to die for. They also offer certain specialty items at times like frog leg platters which keeps things interesting. The only complaints I have is that I wish that the waitresses wore a simple uniform, like a black tank/t-shirt/etc. with denim pants/shorts because it is difficult to tell who is a waitress when it gets busy and it’d just look cleaner. They also burn the burgers, always. Granted, I like mine well done, but I have to request it medium well for it to have any flavor or juice left. Nothing that would keep us from going back! Also, they NEED to be open on Sundays, as nothing in town besides the chains are.

We popped in after visiting the salt mine for a pint and bite. The staff was fun and the atmosphere was just what you’d want it to be. Stop in and sample the beer and the burgers are great, you’ll be glad you did!

We had a large group of about 15 to 16 at one point and the staff was spot on! The food came out in a timely matter and it was so delicious! All the orders were just what we ordered and how we ordered it; and tasted so good. The waitress was always friendly and constantly checking to see if we needed anything. We had one drink not made correctly– out of several drinks– and one bar tab had an extra item on it– but it was corrected asap. Even in the small space they were able to make us and the other patrons feel comfortable. The place fills up fast and the music in the back part is so hard to hear it– so hopefully they will fix that; but this place is nice, clean, friendly and reasonable. Beers on tap are interesting –at least they are offering options– that is a nice to have. I hope everyone will at least give this place a try — I think you might be surprised. We will be back time and time again!

I wanted to check this place out because I had been hearing about minorities getting the stink eye from employees and patrons. I sat at the bar and while looking at a menu engaged a couple people in conversation. They weren’ t exactly unpleasant but I wouldn’t call them pleasant either. The bartender was sweet but from the time I sat down until I left, I was never asked if I wanted anything to drink, almost thirty minutes! I ordered the appetizer platter to go. Huge mistake! Instead of seperating the different items, chicken tenders, onion rings, cheese curds, chili fries, they clumped everything in one big styrofoam container! Soggy disgusting and the oil was old. Did not feel welcome. Won’t be back.

Food was excellent… No doubt I will come here again while visiting hutchinson. Boneless wings are great! The burger that comes with an onion ring(they left of the BBQ sauce for some reason) was still pretty darn delicious, tots were spiced very well. Waitress was a little slow but the atmosphere was cool. A few tv’s and some buddy’s and it was a great time.

Just ate here a few nights ago and the food was great. The owner came out to greet us after we had been seated. He knows how to run a restaurant. I had the burger(and made it a triple) and it was so delicious. Others had steak and the BLT. Both were good. The steak was 12 oz. ribeye on special for about $ 13 and it was nice and flavorful. Overall I would give the food a 93⁄100. The décor is interesting. Sort of a Midwest meets Southwest in a bar thing. It’s obvious that this used to be a bar and it tends to feel a little cramped and narrow. It’s somewhat loud and others with me claimed it was uncomfortable, but this didn’t bother me. 75⁄100 The waitresses don’t have a dress code and they dress for the tips, if you know what I mean. However, the service was good and they were polite and on point. 80⁄100 This place has a menu with lots of good looking food, a full bar with a huge list of beers on tap(that’s right, draft beers), and DAILY food and drink specials that are sure to keep you coming back. I think everyone should try it, but because of the atmosphere not everyone will want to come back. Personally I look forward to making another trip there to see what other delicious food they offer. Overall 89⁄100 because food. Edit: Got to go back and try the beer. I got some summer seasonal brew on special for $ 2 a pint. Pretty good beer. I had two of them. Witnessed the personality of this place on a Saturday night. Had a pretty eclectic age group with people anywhere from early twenties to late sixties. It’s very lively and fun, but damn is it loud. I had to shout to speak with those at my table. This place could definitely use something soft on the walls to absorb a little noise.
