Awesome experience. My boyfriend and I had a groupon and decided to take s day trip. Joel the owner is a very nice guy. He is easy to talk to and actually remembered is from s previous visit. We got to make two bottles of our wine. It was an amazing experience. we will return with friends/family.

My boyfriend and I just got back from this place. We had an amazing experience! The tasting room is on the smaller side, but there is a deck that would be nice to take advantage of during the warmer months. We bought the groupon for wine tasting for two and two bottles of wine and it was a great deal! After sampling a selection of wines, we were let lose to sample from the barrels and mix our own bottles. It is something I have never done before and it was awesome! I highly suggest this deal!

Got a groupon for this place and decided to take a little day trip here then to fish at lost lake. BESTDATEDAYEVER! After a gorgeous drive we ended up there about 40 minutes before our scheduled wine tasting. No problem, the owner was extremely helpful and funny! He helped us pick out flavors of each wine the we liked, we know nothing about wine, then set us on our way to make our own bottle. We had so much fun mixing and sampling wines! We ended up getting an extra two bottles. I normally don’t like wine very much, and struggle to get one glass down. I have no problem drinking the whole bottle of these! ;) They are so smooth and sweet! We’re on our last bottle and will hopefully be back soon for another!

The wines ranged from out of balance merlot, to vinegary tempranillo, to mediocre dessert wine. The owner did not seem to like tourists and had a rather arrogant and negative tone about everything to the point where we felt insulted. So in short, you’re likely to get bad wine accompanied by a bad attitude at Wind River Cellars

What a beautiful little discovery up a winding road. A small little winery with some country charm. We tasted a quite a few wines and bought a bottle as well as a book on the Columbia River Gorge and sat on the deck and enjoyed the day. It was only about 45 degrees out so we didn’t have a lot of competition for the seating, however, the owner said in the summer it is elbow to elbow out there. I can definitely see why what a beautiful view of the grapevines and Mt Hood.(See pic). We brought lunch with us and the neighborhood cats bordered on really annoying wanting to be fed but other then that, an enjoyable time was had. What a fun little discovery. I wouldn’t mind going back to check it out again.

After our white water rafting trip with All Adventures Rafting, we decided to head up the hill and try some wine. We drove up the windy road and pulled up to the tasting room, which was a room on the side of the barn. The owner was there and quickly started pouring us tastes(we were the only ones there at the time). He was a lot of fun and cracking sarcastic jokes; just my style. He made fun of his son who was running around; at one point he pretended to pee on him. The tasting room was decorated with a bunch of medals won in wine competitions. It was good wine for a good price, which was a nice change from some of the overpriced Pinots in Oregon wine country. The tasting room also had a big picture window overlooking the vineyard and Mt. Hood. It was completely gorgeous. The property had a Volkswagen Thing and a pet pig who was extremely fat from eating all of the low-hanging fruit. Fun and beautiful atmosphere with delicious wine – what more can you ask for?
