The selection is great, the customer service is good, & I do love the flavors. That being said, they are a little pricey. It is worth the money, but the high prices will limit the frequency of my visits.

Tea stores are a rarity here, and as a well-versed tea connoisseur, I am glad to see it successful. Having said that, I’m also trying very hard not to rate it lower than 4 stars. There are almost no teas in their massive selection that aren’t completely bogged down with excessive floral or fruit notes, including their more delicate teas such as white, oolong and green. Some of their flavors are extremely overpowering and off-putting, but that’s the fault of the company itself, not the location. The employees are passionate though a bit misguided and under-informed, not knowing what a tisane is and offering a high priced matcha when being asked about a gen maicha(one is a ritual green powdered tea at a mind-boggling $ 30/oz while the other is simply a green with toasted rice). They try super duper hard though, so you have to give them credit. Also they are WAY spendy. Like, far beyond fair-market value expensive. But if you’re unfamiliar with teas and this is a luxury thing, I guess it’s worth the price. Otherwise, there are some amazing online sources for loose leaf teas such as and where you can get better quality for less. And yes, you can get samples online, the only thing is you have to wait, instead of having an associate brew you some. So as you can see, I’m torn. For the location itself, it’s very nice. I kind of wish they were a stand-alone store instead of in a mall, I would happily visit daily for their take-out brews. Totally worth the high price. Their staff was extremely friendly and helpful. So while the company itself gets an E for effort, I give the location 4 stars. Worth a visit. EDIT: Adjusting my post to rate it a little higher. Try the peach tranquility iced. Amazing.

1÷13÷2013 2:03PM This location is effectively run, and consistently has a diverse offering of samples. I typically have a variant of tea their twice a month. The staff there is very knowledgeable and consistently provides quality recommendations. Even those who are typical tea drinkers will find a variant that is to their liking. I have worked with Monica on several occasions, and she is very polite and helpful.

I’ve ran into an occasional rude employee here, but overall the service I’ve received is attentive and considerate. The experience is so much different than shopping online or in a big box store… I love being able to try all the samples and smell all the teas! I was also impressed by their generous return policy… I had some cast iron get a little rusty after accidentally leaving some water in it so I took it to the store to see what could be done and they gave me a new one with no trouble at all. Favorite teas: Gyokuro and Amandine Rose.

I was given a gift card to Teavana over the holidays so I thought I would check it out. It’s a tiny storefront in the mall. They carry their own brand of loose leaf teas behind the counter and have a large selection of very pretty but fairly pricey tea pots filling out the rest of the shop. Did I mention the place is TINY. The day I went, it was extremely crowded. There were probably only six people in the place, but mix in a stroller and a couple of confused large husbands in tow and it was actually difficult to walk around the store. I probably should have bailed at that point and gone back another day, but I love beautiful ceramics and I was excited to look at some new teas. There were only three people manning the shop and they seemed pretty overwhelmed. The girl who mainly assisted me was friendly, but new to the job. The other two people working the shop were borderline rude to me. I waited quite a few minutes in line at the counter to ask a question about loose teas only to have one of the employees guide another gentleman in front of me as soon as I was next in line and then proceeded to help him. When I was finally able to ask if they had anything similar to a tea I had recently at a restaurant, the other person behind the counter assured me that it didn’t exist(which it does — I was able to order it online with zero difficulty) and overall acted like I was nuts for asking. I finally just settled on a tea cup that would use most of my gift card and left. In their defense, I understand the shop was very busy while I was there, and I guess I didn’t look like I was going to make a major purchase, but even so, from a consumer standpoint I had a gift card, which means I basically had a free item in the store and I seriously considered just walking out. :(

My favorite tea in the world — love the Honeybush Red and the Youthberry White. Phenomenal, complex flavors. They also sell exquisite teapots and accessories, would make great gifts, etc. It is pricey, but in my opinion worth it, at least as an occasional splurge.

I’ll preface my review by saying that I stumbled upon Teavana occupying the space where Aveda was. I was disappointed to see Aveda gone(with their«Comforting Tea»), but interested in the tea shop – a rarity in the mid-cities area. The staff offered several samples of various hot and iced tea blends which were quite tasty. They were rather knowledgeable about the origins and health benefits of the different teas they sell. I was also impressed by the variety of Japanese-made cast iron teapots sold here. They were of high quality, and the prices reflect this. My mother is an avid tea drinker, and even $ 150 might be money well spent for this unique gift(not made in China). After chatting and previewing the products with the store rep, I have to say that I was surprised by the sudden turn toward the«hard sell» on the looseleaf tea. I was planning to buy a cool iced tea beverage that I had sampled, and briefly considered taking some leaves home as they suggested. Not having planned for a «major tea purchase,»(who does?) I told her how much I would like to spend. If it only got me a few ounces, no big deal. But the tactics and banter continued. «Why not buy this big tin… you’ll get a discount… I can’t offer you the discount on the small tin…» The small tin would have been $ 35, and even Central Market’s bulk teas are a better buy. One of my rules is that I never go back and forth with a saleperson over any purchase, and I refuse to be pressured into buying anything – tea included. So I put a stop to the whole cherade. I bought my refreshing iced tea, and enjoyed it! But I’ll stick with my looseleaf tea from Germany and Tulsi India organic bags.
