When my oldest was little we had lucked out & found a photographer we loved at a local branch of a kids photo place located in a baby item store. They ended up going out of business & the photographer got work closer to where she lived. We tried a couple places but then she went to kindergarden & we just got yearly pics thru school. Then we had our youngest this last year so we turned to groupon for deals which led us here and we’ve been coming back so far. So far everyone we’ve had have been nice, good with the kids, and we’ve gotten some good pictures. They usually have a groupon or two running at any given point which also groupon runs 20% off with a code that takes more off of those deals pretty regularly as well. We even get coupons direct from them as well. At one time I got a deal for $ 50 for the digital album that included all the pictures taken. Now knowing a little bit about the backgrounds of the chain in box store photo places there are a couple things I’m pretty easy going with most things. My biggest complaints have been that there were 2 or 3 visits equipment didn’t work so we lost the golden chances for some great shots of my little one. Not the photographers fault by any means. I also do wish, and I think they heb been Better about this, that corporate would give more time for appointments. When your target audience is kids you have to have more than 20 mins to take pictures, let them make edits & make the sale. The times we had tech issues I could tell that it caused stress for the photographer, like when they are booked back to back & I’ve heard there is a rating system so they could get docked for time, but I’m not 100% on that. Also I don’t think we’ve had the same person twice in the last 4 times we’ve been.(May, aug, nov & feb for newborn & milestones.) I think at one point I was told that they have folks that cover multiple stores so I don’t know if it’s an understaff issue across the board that we always miss having the same people or if it’s a retain issue. Though with where we used to go it was great having the same person for all the milestones & the yearly visits.
