Kinney’s Automotive Service

I have a 2002 F150 Ford Pickup. Thank Heavens for Kinneys Automotive… my transmission after 375,000 rough miles decided it was time to stay stopped for good.
The men at Kinneys were awesome! I called them with my situation, they were avle to give me a quote for fixing my transmission and had the work done in less time than expected… I am back on the road looking forward to my next 375,000 miles. I love my truck… not just because it’s paid off but she’s apart of the family now. No way would I trust just anyone with my truck, and I enjoyed their GREAT CUSTOMER service and professionalism.
I found out about Kinneys via a co-​worker that has been getting all his families cars and trucks serviced there for decades… and I am very grateful to have a shop I can trust… to do the big stuff like my transmission… and I am glad to know they’ve been around for a long time, because that tells me great thing about how they run their business and treat their customers.
Thank you Chris for your GREAT SERVICE… I WILL be back with future repairs for my truck… I just hope not anytime soon… but see you soon for an oil change!!!

This is a great business with good, honest, capable people. Getting your car repaired is never fun, but knowing that you can trust your mechanic is priceless. We have been working with Kinney’s for more than 20 years and they have gone the extra mile for us many times to figure out what the problem is and the best, most cost effective solution. Joe even helped our son sell his truck when he returned from the Army. We recommend them to anyone.

Worst place I’ve ever been. Originally took my truck in to have the AC fixed. I get a huge list of things to be fixed. $ 1100 they said. I told them to just fix what I brought it in for. Got it down to $ 700. They fixed everything except for what I took it in for. So I left it there or another day. I get a call that it’s ready. When I pick it up, I’m told that it’s not fixed and that I need to spend more money with them. I’m going somewhere else.

I have a NEWER Nissan Sentra vehicle so I don’t have to get many things done to it as far as repairs and such… BUT I do come to this shop regularly and each time I come here, I have to wait at least 2 HOURS or so and that’s with an appointment. I will say the customer service is ALWAYS great and they do take GREAT CARE of my NISSAN! I will keep coming back here, just need to occupy myself whenever I bring my vehicle here.

Charged me $ 907 for a part the dealer told me was only $ 577! That is what the dealer sold it to them for. Told me I needed a new axle but I didn’t! It was «preventative» they said after my son confronted them. I will never go there again! Big ripoff.

Good honest service at fair prices. They are doing a great job on my personal and fleet vehicles.

First and last time here. Poorest customer service. They would tell me they would call me back and didn’t. Wanted me to work around their lunch schedule even though they have inconvenienced me for 3 days! They said the problem was one thing but it was another. On hold every time for way too long and seemed like they were lying every time. Do not take your car here.

I agree with Sherry B. This business deserves an excellent review. My husband’s mustang broke down (A/​C issues) and he has only allowed Ford to work on it. It sat at Ford for 4 days with nobody looking at it. So I called Kinney’s. He quoted me a price within 15 minutes for free, and promised to have the car ready that day! Just then Ford called with their estimate of $ 655.00 and it would be ready in 2 days. I told him that Kinney’s was ready to come get the car for me and have it ready that day. And then I told them Kinney’s price of $ 515, he put me on hold and then came back and price matched Kinney’s and promised the car the next day. The only reason I didn’t use Kinney’s was because Ford was going to charge me $ 95 for keeping it for a week and the estimatmation. Kinney’s saved me over $ 100. Instead of taking your car into Kinney’s, call and ask for Joe. Explain your situation even to the point of «I can’t afford to pay a lot for repairs». Kinney’s is definitely good people.

This place deserves a good review! I was sick of leaving my car at the dealer for days on end, spending money on rental cars and getting nailed with $ 1,000 plus bill each time. I’m happy that I have found a car shop that is quick (less than 24 hours in and out).
I loved that Kinney’s had a great website (with lots of reviews) and I wrote in a request for service through their website
and was written back by the owner quickly. Another plus is it is a AAA approved shop and I got 10% off of my bill for being a member.
It is in the older part of Hurst and I would have felt less than comfortable without my male friend with me. The shop is huge, it was an old department store and there are multiple entrances which is a little confusing. Both people at the desk were very polite and when I spoke with them on the phone they were courteous and very nice. I had rotors resurfaced (NTB had previously done a poor job in the fall), fuel filter (my request) and an oil change. My bill was in the low $ 300s. Very reasonable. I will take my car back again.

Estimate for my car to be repaired at Kinneys was $ 2,000. Kinney’s charged me $ 200 for the quote alone… No work had been done. Just the quote was $ 200. I took my car to Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine to get a second opinion. They quoted my repairs at $ 390. They charged me NOTHING for the quote. Had the work done at Classic Chevrolet and now my check engine light has been off for over a week and my car passed state inspection. And it did indeed only cost me $ 390. According to Kinney’s my car needed an entire new gas tank. (And they charged me $ 200 to tell me that) At Classic Chevy they said only the evap purge solenoid, valve, and fuel cap needed to be replaced. Highly dissatisfied with Kinney’s. Will not be coming back, and have already told all my family and friends to stay away from there.

Car wasn’t running… had it towed to Kinney’s since it was close by… now it runs. Not sure how to judge their work as a woman, but it is funny now after reading the other reviews mentioning how the charges are always around $ 600+…guess what mine was…$ 657…hmmmmm

This place appears to be a clean well run shop. They have a nice waiting area and donuts/​snacks. I have a spare car that wont pass inspection and needed brakes and rotors. So I told them to make sure that the car would pass the emissions testing first before doing the other repairs. So I go to pick it up and there was not a new inspection sticker on it. They had completed the other repairs first and did not notify me about the inspection sticker. So I was stuck with a high repair bill on a car that I couldnt drive. They wanted me to leave it there longer after they already had it for two days. It seemed like every time I went to pick up my car from there the person in front of me was payng a bill of $ 600.00 or more.
