The staff was friendly, chip n salsa very good. However, for a Mexican restaurant I would not recommend it as the food was not very good consider it appeared to be ran by a spanish family.

Arrived around 19:00 on a Saturday evening. Ordered guacamole but they were out. Food took about 25 min.(too long) and was very average. A boring taco with not much in it but a piece of chick6, a lot of lettuce and a piece of tomato. The chicken burrito had a strange taste that I couldn’t identify? However, the chicken in the burrito and enchilada was very good. I ordered a combo which was a lot of food. Lady that served us was friendly and attentive. Cute little place but food was very mediocre. Wish it had been better.

We went to Lupita’s for Taco Tuesday and Enchilada Thursday. The food was really not great. Sure it was only $ 1 for a taco and enchilada, but it doesn’t encourage me to spend more money on their regular entrees. They also have terrible service. It took the server 10 minutes to bring water to our table and it wasn’t a busy night.

Staying in Hurricane since it’s near Zion National Park, and have eaten here twice! You won’t find better Mexican food in town, plus, Tuesdays they have $ 1 tacos and Thursdays they have $ 1 enchiladas! The staff is very friendly and accommodating — we wanted to sit outside but they don’t really have an outdoor seating area set up so they set up a table(complete with umbrella!) just for us!

Came to lupita’s the first time and asked to sit outside. They have a small patio that wasn’t originally set up… but they set it up just for us to sit outside. How amazing is that? They were so accommodating. It was amazing, and we were so happy eating their delicious food that we returned the next day for their Thursday special, dollar enchiladas. Their enchiladas? Amazing. Highly recommend the carnitas. And the chicken. Both so so delicious. The beef was good too and I’m currently sitting and waiting for a cheese enchilada to try. Pretty stoked for it though. Also, their salsa. It’s AWESOME. Apparently made fresh here, which is cool. It’s not super spicy, but the flavors are awesome. Lots of cilantro, which I love love love. The waiters were great both times. Super nice and friendly and helpful. No complaints there. Refilled my water when I emptied it immediately, which is always a good thing. Ultimately… Go! You won’t regret it.

I ordered the king size chicken enchilada and it was very cold on the inside. My sons breakfast burrito was oozing with grease and had absolutely no flavor. Definitely do not recommend.

Went here for the second time a couple months later and still aren’t disappointed. Maybe we were hungrier, but we enjoyed all the food just a little bit more this time around. The staff was fast and friendly, and the food came fast enough we didn’t feel like we were waiting too long. Will definitely come back when we’re in the area.

Stopped in here after a long day of travel and mountain biking. We thought we’d try something less generic than many of the ‘gringoesk’ Mexican places. The food was just okay, a little overpriced, altough there was a lettuce and orange wedge garnish. The tacos came crispy and almost ‘hard shelled’ with American cheese. So our quest for the authentic still continues in this area of southern utah. The salsa was good but the chips weren’t fresh and had lost their crispiness.

We came here twice while visiting the area. Once was on «Taco Tuesday» and then again on «Enchilada Thursday». We’re on a budget. In both cases, the food was very poor(I’ve microwaved better stuff from the frozen food aisle), and the service was surprisingly slow. We got a paltry basket of chips and a shallow dish of weak salsa immediately after being seated, and drink orders taken(but not brought), and then… nothing for 15 minutes. The place was not extremely busy; there were a handful of empty tables nearby. This happened both times we visited, in two different weeks. Now, we don’t expect a lot out of $ 1 tacos, but the point of these kind of deals is to entice patrons to try other things on your menu, not to convince them not to return! We wouldn’t have held sub-par food against them if the service had been acceptable. One positive; the horchata was pretty good, and fairly priced.

Target Mexican food. Certainly the best in hurricane. I always get the chimichanga with nacho sauce.

We came here after a long day of hiking in Zion, which I assume most people do and left so happy! We were greeted and welcomed within seconds of walking through the door, we were sat down and waters were filled right then, which was great. Our server was very attentive and on top of everything, we never had to ask for a refill and she brought everything out so fast! The food was seriously SO good and for such a great price! They had a green sauce on the table that was AMAZING — I like spicy and this was sooo yummy on top of all of my food. Hole in the walls are the best and this was no exception.

Not related to the FAR superior Lupita’s in Cedar City. This place is an over-priced cramped-for-space dive. It looks like it was a tiny old fast-food joint converted to a Mexican restaurant with a very weird floor plan. The paint is ancient, the furnishings older than that. The floor isn’t level. You’re assaulted on entering by the stench of the restrooms. No one is there to greet you, but a sign says«wait to be seated». A whiteboard also promoted«hot chocolate», which we ordered, but it must have been horchata, cuz it was nuclear hot served in large ceramic mugs, but not at all chocolatey. Service was slow, but friendly. Food was slow arriving, but decent serving size and decent tasting, but pricier than I would have expected for the atmosphere. Chips are very thin, with very mild and watery salsa. Summary: in a nicer venue, I would give it 3 stars, but I’ll never go back to this Lupitas. I too like to support local business, but this was a Betos-type(a SLC chain) experience — that didn’t impress me on any level.

Let me rant a wee bit on the horrors microwaves wreak on otherwise good food. Microwaves excite hydrogen molecules, causing the water in anything to heat. When you do this to cheese, it causes the hydrogenated fats to separate(those are the puddles of oil) and the proteins to contract and become rubbery. On tortillas, there are no fats to separate so the water simply evaporates, leaving the bread crusty or very chewy. This can be mitigated by covering the food with a plastic cover, which will steam the food as it cooks. Still not ideal, but better. This place microwaves their enchiladas, and likely other things too. As we sat waiting, dumping hot sauce into a bowl of perhaps the worst salsa I’ve ever had(watery puréed tomato with onion and cilantro. Zero spice) we could hear it beeping, and we exchanged knowing glances and prepared for the worst. Lupita’s makes what is already a fairly bad food experience with the bland, thin sauces(their signature sauce is like thin tomato soup with over cooked green peppers in it. Yuck!) truly dismal by using a microwave. My advice to this restaurant is to review your recipes and adjust for flavor. If you are unable to steam your enchiladas or hold them effectively at temp, don’t offer them. Bring back the Argentinian food and give diners a more flavorful experience they can’t get down the street. And for goodness’ sake clean up your store. Good luck!

The food was very bland. They charged for chips and salsa. The chips are store bought. I personally won’t eat there again.

Place is slightly above average for typical mexican faire. If you really know authentic Mexican then this restaurant will disappoint. The service is good but the food is not up to par. Fresh tortilla ’ s, fresh carnitas, quality frejoles rojos, etc all need to be added. Two of the items I asked for were not available. I want to give this place more stars but they need to step up the effort

We are passing through Zion National Park and I saw a sign that said $ 1 Enchiladas every Thursday. Well, today is Thursday, so I said«Pull over! I must try these.» I entered the humble but quaint stucco building and was greeted by a friendly woman. «Are you Lupita?» I asked. She said yes she is. I ordered five enchiladas, and they were so very delicious. Hit the spot! I recommend it.
