Cashier who took order didn’t explain that taco was crunchy until it arrived and didn’t offer to correct it. Order the enchilada based on reviews… it tasted like a frozen meal. The prices are very high, they charge for chips and salsa… not a great experience for me!

Some of the worst food I’ve ever had. My beef burrito was cold. The ground meat had very large chucks of meat that could have passed for a small meatball. My wife said her entrée was disgusting. Maybe chalk it up to a bad night, but not going to give them a chance. Only reason I would not give a 1 star is that it was a good venue to see some live music.

The green bean burrito (now known as bean burrito verde) is great. Most of the rest is average plus Mexican food. Prices are OK. Sometimes the beef is a little too salty for me (but I admit to being hyper-​sensitive to salt). They are no longer a Bandito Burrito franchise, but it is supposedly the same ownership as before. One thing I have noticed that is different is the refried beans. They used to be similar to El Palacio’s — thick and completely mashed. Now they have noticeable pieces of beans and are looser. I prefer the old style, but to each their own.

One of my favorite places! Forget Rosie’s, THIS is the place to eat! Their enchilada entrée is delicious and I especially love their veggie tamales.

Pretty good. I liked it, but I wish there was more that came with the beef grande. They told me it was going to be huge, but it was kind of mediocre. The queso wasn’t the greatest, but I’ve had much worse.
As for the atmosphere, it was cute. The live music was a nice touch.

Well I have lived in Huntsville for 16 years and tried the location on Governors but had forgotten about it really, mainly there is a really good Mexican restaurant close to where I live. Being Cinco de Mayo my wife and I decided to try Bandito and went to the location on South Parkway. What can I say. We have missed a gem for all these years. Ordered takeout and it was awesome. Wife got the Super Chicken Nachos and I ordered the Fish Taco special. Chips and salsa were great. Both of our meals were great. My only concern was the staff seemed to be short handed and this was at 5:15 when we ordered our food. Overall wait was not bad. Limited staff was working very hard. We will be back perhaps for the live entertainment next time.

I’ve heard some of the best music in Huntsville, AL here, and for free!
They have really great food and yes they have a huge selection of beer, but more importantly, you can see Dave Anderson and Microwave Dave play here for free!
They do long, intimate solo sets and I enjoy watching them display their craft and show how their process of looping and song arrangement is done.
This is practically a three and four hour masterclass for free. I’ve paid good money to see musicians I love and stayed up well past my bedtime. Here I can go eat inexpensive tacos that taste awesome and drink a free brews while getting home before 9 or 10.

I love absolutely everything about Bandito Southside. Their grande burrito meal is heaven. I get it nearly every single time. Their green bean burrito is also delicious! I always enjoy their live music & busy bustling atmosphere. A must try!

I was in the area, saw the super good reviews, decided to stop for lunch.
I got the Green Bean burrito which has refried beans, cheese, and green sauce for $ 1.99 I believe and I also ordered a fish taco which was somewhere just under $ 5. I would have like to have chips and salsa but couldn’t warrant paying nearly $ 3 when you could get them for $ 1.50 if you’re ordering a «lunch special».
The burrito was alright, kind of hard to mess up a bean burrito, but I did add some of the hot sauces for extra flavor. You really couldn’t taste the green sauce in the burrito and there wasn’t a whole lot of cheese either.
The fish taco was definitely MEH. I was told they boil their fish and I can say that after trying it it’s definitely not the best way to give fish some flavor, instead it enhanced the fishy flavor. The cabbage was a mess to hold in the corn tortillas and tasted a little dry, definitely needed some kind of sauce. I think there was supposed to be a sauce on the taco but it was overshadowed by the fishiness and the bland corn tortillas and cabbage. For the price, I was highly disappointed especially since I’d had a much better fish taco at Rosie’s just two days before and theirs came with rice, black bean soup, unlimited chips and salsa, and ice cream for just $ 8.99.
It just seemed like they’re trying the «authentic» Mexican thing without succeeding. :-/

There are two locations this one and one on Governors Dr. This place was in south Huntsville years ago and closed. After a few years they came back on this end of town. My fav. the been and cheese burrito, which I always order at least one of them if I also feel like something else. Usual trip is two or three bean and cheese. Full bar and they have bands that come and play for the nights. For you non-​smokers you will be glad to know there is no smoking indoors, they do have a bench outside for the smokers and they wont miss much if a band is playing because the door going outside is right next to the stage. Great service and the food is always great.

Tucked away in a small strip mall in south Huntsville, Bandito Southside offers a smoke free place to listen to live music nearly every night (family friendly till about 9). The food and staff are great with a complete offering of local craft beers. I love their burritos and especially appreciate the whole bean options. I live across town but make an effort to eat a late lunch on my way to a meeting or errand. It’s not a good week unless I’ve had one of their whole bean green bean burritos!

Great food. Great service. Great music. Lots of good local bands frequent Bandito and it’s kid-​friendly. Amazing burritos and fish tacos. Don’t miss Dave Anderson Thursday’s, 6 – 8 pm.

Never had a bad meal, or even a mediocre meal at Bandito Burrito (any of them). This is my favorite and the most convenient for me. I have had the tacos, burritos and the tamales and I have to say, this is my favorite spot in Huntsville for all three.

Same great food as the Gov Dr. location, but better seating, decent bar, live music, and open late!

Great mexican food in clean, fun environment. A FULL BAR and it’s non-​smoking!!! Fast, friendly service. Great place with live music and reasonably priced food. Order the green bean burrito. Only thing that could make it better is free chips and salsa. Much cleaner environment compared to the Bandito Burrito in Governors.
