Singles or doubles… in tennis, that is. Either will do at this gem. Interested in playing tennis, want to master your wind up, practice your backhand skill, or just want to burn a lot of calories w your bff? You’d enjoy doing it here especially since it’s open to the public. There are no membership fees required to play here. LOCATION&PARKING5⁄5 Courts are located on the southern outskirts of Monrovia Middle School. Ample parking available next to the courts. ATMOSPHERE&AMBIANCE4⁄5 These outdoor courts are fenced in and contain six courts made of concrete/cement. These are open to the public, but not during school hours. We’ve played here 3x now and haven’t had any problems w availability. 1st time on a Sunday evening, it was just us. 2nd visit was on a Thursday evening and every court but one was occupied. 3rd time(this evening and after a little rain) it was just us and another couple. Fortunately, there is a long broom available to sweep any recent rainfall off your preferred court before your game. We didn’t discover that until after our 3rd match. Thankfully, we had the proper shoes and the court was not slippery at all even w a few wet spots. The only negatives to note are:(1) there are no lights on these courts to play at night, and(2) there are no back walls should one want to play solo against one. VERDICT&RECOMMENDATION5⁄5 Our overall experience thus far practicing at these courts has been pleasant, and we will return often! So, whether you’re a beginner or an Olympian or somewhere in between, come master your technique here. Tennis is a technique sport, meaning that players of all shapes and sizes can enjoy it and the biggest and strongest don’t necessarily win. That’s one of the beauties of tennis. So bring your racquet, balls, and your opponent, and have fun mastering your technique!
