Best wings hands down! The size and quality of the wings is vastly superior to other wing joints and the smoked flavor and tender, juicy product is a winner!

This restaurant is one of my absolute favorites, and this location is the one we frequent most. We have tried almost everything on the menu, we tell our friends and family how great the food is… and we even proudly wear the tee-shirts! Today we wanted to eat here, however when we walked in we noticed the health dept score was merely an 86… Of course we always try to read the report in full detail before we decide if we are staying or not… We had to move one of the framed Serve Safe notices out of the way to be able to see why things were not up to par, and how recent the review was made. A couple of the results found just 10 days ago were that the food was not cooked to temp, and that the food prep surfaces were not sanitized. The food prep area didn’t even look clean today. This was very disappointing to us to have to make the decision to go somewhere else for lunch.

Quick friendly service, great BBQ, great sides. I’ve been several places around Huntsville over the years and this place is one of the best…

Moes is a great place for family lunch and dinner. If you haven’t tried the smoked wings please do yourself a favor and grab a plate ASAP. The Jones Valley location has been very good to us. The service is prompt and friendly and the food is the always great.

I’ve never had a bad meal here, and they serve my favorite wings in the United States. They are smoked with dry spices for 90 – 120 min and then flash fried without breading for about 5 minutes to make them crisp. Those are served with cornbread and some very unique sides. Tonight they have grits casserole, collard greens, and twist pie. I’ve been here a few dozen times, and they make the best black eyed peas and corn casserole. The sides look small but they are very filling. Mose has traditional BBQ sauce but try their white sauce. It is awesome. Don’t expect table service or silverware. This is a BBQJOINT. It is one of my favorites and I come here every time I get off of the Airplane. I travel for a living, so I enjoy many different places. The line comes out the door at lunch time. You should check it out.

Service was quick and polite. As other reviewers have commented this is a self-service /fast-casual type joint. The food is fine, not quite as good as some of the local places I’ve been to lately. If I hadn’t been learning about«high-end» BBQ lately, I would have thought that this place was great. I will stop by here again if I’m in the area and need a quick bite to eat, it just isn’t somewhere that I would go out of my way to get to.

Service was quick. Self-serve style joint. The sauce was excellent and not too powerful. The Mac-n-cheese was greasy and not good. The banana pudding was tasty and the mash potato casserole very good but if your cutting calories choose another.

I love the wings here. I’ve had mixed experiences with their ribs– sometimes they’ve been great and other times they’ve been average. The atmosphere is relaxed and family friendly.

Close to 5 stars, but room for improvement. All in all, I was very pleased and have a happy belly! First time in a Moe’s. Loved the ambiance. Casual, comfy, funky, football. The Redskins, which is my team, were playing on the TVs. Walls are painted burgundy. 5-star atmosphere. Staff needs improvement. Two young girls chitchating together while one took orders at the counter. My credit card receipt had a place for a tip. In not a fan of that when you order at a counter. I added a $ 2 tip and she didn’t say thanks. Grill/open kitchen had 3 young men working. One hustled and 2 were slow and looked unmotivated despite the line out the door. Get there early for lunch or you’ll have a long wait. Pulled pork sandwich and 2 sides was $ 9.00. Sandwich had lots of meat… Very generous. There was no sauce on it, so I loaded up with the squirt bottle of sauce on the condiment table. Sauce a great and made the sandwich fantastic. Baked beans were scrumptious; made with brown sugar and chopped onions and green pepper. Served piping hot. Potato salad was average. It was dry and had large chunks of miscellaneous vegetables, cut haphazardly, throughout. It was slightly cool, but should’ve been cooler. When the cashier asked me what sides I wanted, I didn’t see any listed on the paper menu on the counter. I looked around and found them listed on the wall. Standard things. It wasn’t until after I paid that I saw another list of addition sides, all of which sounded better, like Brunswick stew and casseroles. I wish the cashier would’ve told me about that. If I were the manager, I’d hire motivated grill staff and re-train the cashiers. It would take very little to make this a 5-star go-to hotspot in town.

Stopped in for lunch today, first time we have been to a Moe’s Original Bar B Que. Didn’t realize it was a chain — restaurants in AL, NC, Colorado, and even one in Bangor, Maine. My fiancée ordered a ½ Smoked Chicken platter, sides were potato salad and Marinated Slaw. I went with a Large order of Ribs(6 Bones), and my sides were Mac-n-Cheese and Baked Beans. Food was decent, everything was solidly good, but we felt nothing was outstanding or could be considered great. Baked Beans were a bit strong with the molasses, but still decent. I did feel the value of my Large Ribs was lacking somewhat at $ 13, seemed to be a half rack. Still, they were decent tasting. We both thought the cornbread was very good, the single best item on each of our platters Overall, not a bad experience at Moe’s today, but it is a bit of a hike for us from Fayetteville, so I imagine we won’t be back unless we are in the area. If you are local, I recommend giving Moe’s Original Bar B Que a try.

It’s our first time here and we absolutely loved all we got. My husband got the chicken(on the bone) and I got a kids order of wet wings. Both of us got Mac & Cheese and sweet potato casserole for sides & both came with corn bread. First of all, I’m a wings snob from Philly, and I’m happy that I’ve found my new wings home. Next time well definitely try the ribs or pulled pork. The tea is sweet and they have lots if sauces you can add but the sauce that comes with the wings was amazing. Ambience-wise: There’s plenty of TVs and great music playing. And the cashier was very helpful with ordering since it was our first time. We will definitely be back!!!

Great BBQ place, the smoked wings are out of this world. The service is quick and the restaurant is very clean. I liked the different sides that they had such as fried green tomatoes, lima beans and baked beans. The jalapeño cornbread was yummy as well.

Really good BBQ in the Jones Valley area of Huntsville. I get the pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and mac n cheese. the flavor of everything is extremely good, despite they could give you more for the sides than the little thing they come in. Other than that, I smell like it when I go in places and people ask«Moes?»

Excellent. My favorite BBQ joint. Everything is good including interesting sides. I love their sauce — not the sweet paste most joints have but a more tangy style and they keep it warm at the condiments table. Smoked wings are very good.

I came into this location the same week it open as I was staying at the hotel next door. This trip, I was not so had to make a trip across town. it was worth it. The food is excellent, the staff friendly and very inviting. I had an employee with me who ended up coming back here twice while I was in another town because he liked id so much. The chicken is great and the sauce selection excellent. This will be one of our stops when we’re in town going forward.

I really have to respect any place that lets you count banana pudding as a side. ‘I’d like some pulled pork with banana pudding X 2 as my side dishes please– no beans or potato salad, thank you very much.’ For me, this place might tie for second best ribs in Huntsville. Ribs– very tender, moist, not much gristle, no burnt edges, easy to remove from the bone. Now that I know they rub their sauce on, I’ll get it on the side next time so I can really taste the meat. Good ribs don’t need sauce, and these are good ribs! Collard greens– this was a special side for the day– the greens were fresh and cooked well. Someone must’ve accidentally dumped too much vinegar in the mix though. I like vinegar, but I felt like I was drinking it. Less vinegar please– these greens stand on their own. Lima beans– this was another special side– tasty, I like lima beans and I like that there were vegetable options besides cole slaw or baked beans. Cornbread– I’m on the fence about the cornbread– it was slightly sweet, without a strong corn taste… it wasn’t bad at all, but it wasn’t overly impressive. I like that there is a host of meats of try; I’ll be back for more ribs and maybe even the chicken and turkey.

I didn’t have much of an expectation when I visited Moes. I mean, really… another bbq joint in town? How different could it be? Well, I was wrong. I think Moe’s may be my favorite bbq place in Huntsville. The bbq itself is awesome and the sides are not just decoration, they really stand alone as excellent dishes in and of themselves. The cornbred is excellent as well. The only thing I don’t care for is how busy it gets at lunch time… but that is a testament to just how good it is. I don’t go at lunch anymore, but have been at «off peak» times and love it all the more.
