Pretty sure I would’ve missed this place completely had it not been for my Eagle eyed compatriot riding shotgun. But lo and behold, there’s a Caribbean and African food store just beyond Sparkman in North Huntsville. The selection and store are both modest but it’s kept well and Grace, the proprietor, is nice and welcoming. Of particular interest, I found dried fish and shrimp skins along with a brand of palm oil of which i wasn’t familiar. There’s also a smattering of stuff you’d find in larger chains including apple cider vinegar and mango marinades. There’s a lot of habanero and ghost pepper relishes on the aisles as well. Also interestingly enough, she ordered Ethiopian berbere for me and I expect a call in a few days for delivery dates. I don’t frequent the north side of huntsvegas that much but when I do, this is what I like to see.
