I am shocked that this park is quite literally blocks away from my apartment complex, almost in the center of town, and right next to the post office that I frequently stop by. How did I never know this park existed??? It’s a great, quiet place with shady trees, a water fountain, walking trails, and a playground. You’ll see a variety of people recreating all throughout the weekend. There are children running through the fountain spewing water from the ground. There are families strolling through the walking trail. There are college students with frisbees. And there’s me having a picnic in the grass! My friends and I didn’t make the connection that those metal pole contraptions were related to the people with stacks of frisbees rotating around the park. Apparently, it’s called«disc-golf,» where you go from numbered pole to pole throwing frisbees into the caged pole. It’s like golf, but with frisbees and poles. I guess the point of it is to get a pole in one. Ha! Excellent park for lazy weekends and lovely afternoons.
