Nothing like the smell of warm chlorinated water to bring me back to my childhood. I practically grew up at the Nat. I was a swimmer for Huntsville Swim Association(HSA) from age 6 to age 12, meaning I was here for an 2 hours or so 3 times a week. And if that’s not impressive enough, this was the hometown pool for multiple US Olympic team members. The majority of the year is the pool is set up in 25yd length. When the pool is set up like that, they’ve got 20 lanes. During the summers, it’s set up for Olympic length(50m), and there are a lot fewer lanes that way(half a dozen). Additionally, there’s a 3m and 1m springboard. And I can recall seeing some scuba classes in the deep end every now and again. The coolest thing about the Nat is the roof that opens during warm weather. Additionally, the windows on the side can open. This was particularly nice for the city swim league championships in the summer. The facilities have seen better days. The locker rooms are old and worn, but they are well-maintained. There are plenty of small lockers, individual stalls for changing, and even a swim suit spinner. According to the website, it’s $ 4 for adult for single visit. … #Yelp365 — 105⁄365
