Great place to pop in for a burrito or tacos. Everything tasted fresh. Steak burrito is very good. My kid liked the pork tacos. They serve beer draft and bottle. They also take credit cards. If you are nearby stop in.

They have a SUPER racist sign on their grape drink dispenser at the cashier. I noticed there weren’t any black customers in this restaurant, and it’s no surprise. The owners should be ashamed of themselves. I will not be coming back.

My favorite Tex-Mex place. The verde bean and smoked chicken burrito are great. Beans and rice are really good too. I like to get a local beer and eat outside when the weather is nice.

Service: Nice, down to earth, with free Wifi(but you have to ask the server for the password) Ambience: dive bar?! Nothing outstanding but they did have a high chair and booster seat for small children, which is a nice touch! Their bathrooms were small but clean.(separate mens and womens bathroom– probably the standard here in alabama) Food: Ok, I can’t complain but it’s also not overwhelming, but certainly not bad. The burritos I had(Green bean burrito and Beef and cheese burrito) were underwhelming and somewhat surprisingly small. Given the good reviews and the name, I stupidly(yes, my bad!) thought it would contain green beans, but the green bean burrito was simply a bean and cheese burrito with some green chili sauce in it. The beef burrito could probably have come from Taco Bell(though I must admit I haven’t been there in years!) For the price, I would’ve expected slightly better. I also got a fish taco, and while it wasn’t terrible either, it wasn’t nearly as good as I’ve had. I also wish that they didn’t put all their sauces in those plastic sauce containers when you say you’re eating in because what a waste of plastic unnecessarily polluting our landfills! One super nice plus: they have that green habanero sauce which I looove! Cups for water according to their notice is 25cents. 1.75 for a drink. I filled mine up with sweet tea and unsweetened tea. I would have preferred both teas to be stronger, they seemed very watery. The sweet tea also wasn’t very sweet, so I was surprised when the tea tasted like unsweetened tea almost even though I had mixed in at least half of the sweetened tea into mine. Rice and beans I felt were a tad overpriced(at 2 extra for both and didn’t taste special at all that day though not bad when I reheated them a day or two later) Will I be back? If i’m in the area and have tried out the other Mexican places around without a better find, maybe. It’s a decent place, probably with solid, consistent food that’s underwhelming and not cheap(but perhaps good if you just want a snack since one burrito would probably barely fill a 2⁄3 year old).

I don’t get it. Lots of people love it. There’s nothing that stands out as being more than average to me.

Disappointed. Being from Texas and loving TexMex I expected more. The chile verde burrito was just a sad wrapped tortilla with boiled chicken and canned green chiles. Just sad, the saving grace was that the rice and beans were actually pretty good but if u have burrito in your business name u should have great burritos. Atmosphere isn’t too bad but I just can’t get over that sad burrito

They never disappoint, and are so inexpensive! Everything is fresh and yummy. The menu is pretty simple but everything is amazing. Fish tacos are a must

This place is disgusting. It is very unclean and also the food is subpar, cheap and greasy. Tamales are not even stuffed good

It’s a truism that the best Tex-Mex comes from local, corner dives, and Bandito is no exception. The portions are generous, but not gratuitous. The guacamole is made in-house and is amazing. The green(sauce) bean burrito and the Raven are my favorites, but the fish tacos are also delicious. There’s a decent beer selection, too. There are also some solid vegan/vegetarian options; they’ll gladly change things up on the menu, and they use vegan beans by default.

I love Mexican food & local businesses, so I thought this was going to be a home run. We stopped by here on the way back to the hotel from Yellowhammer Brewery. It was about 15 minutes before they closed at 10pm on a Friday. I was a little surprised that they closed so early on a Friday night. This place seems like it would a good place to get food late at night. We had a few drinks at Yellowhammer and were looking for a place to eat. Seeing as they closed in 15 minutes, we popped in and asked if it was too late to order some food to go. The cashier said it was fine and we skimmed the menu. I ordered the 2 enchilada dinner that came with rice and beans. Phillip ordered the green burrito that came with rice and beans as well. We also ordered a tostada to split. It took about 7 minutes to get the food. We also had chips and salsa in our back. We headed back to the hotel and were anxious to try it. We opened the containers and I wasn’t impressed with the presentation, but it’s Mexican food, it’s hard to make rice and beans and some tortillas look amazing. I didn’t think that the food would be bad from looking at it, mind you. I tried the enchilada, I guess it was just cheese maybe? They were so compacted down that it was hard to tell what was in them, or had been in them. All I tasted was corn tortilla and generic enchilada sauce. I tried the rice and it was a little dry for me. The beans were your average refried bean. I tried the tostada and it was ok at best. Everything was very ‘ehh’ to me. If I wasn’t a little buzzed I probably wouldn’t have finished the food. I liked the chips, but that was about it.

Go here. Eat burritos. Drink beer. You won’t be disappointed. Bandito is charming and delicious. Their beans are especially good. If it seems a little busy, don’t worry; they keep the line moving fast and table turnover is quick. Eat at Bandito Burrito!

Love that it’s a total dive with character… 5 stars for that. The food? Stick to the burritos and a la cart items. It’s a step up from Taco Bell, but not real Mexican food. American teens microwave quick and easy in the open kitchen. First time I went, I asked the employee what he recommends for a first timer. The green chili burrito and a taco, he said. The green chili burrito tasted like something you could make from home. The rice and refried beans that came with it were the best I’ve ever had… I must admit. Super salty, though. Today I wanted something different… Something stand out so I can write this review. I got the #1 dinner special; a chili relleno(my favorite, and how I judge the authenticity and, well, yumminess of a Mexican restaurant) and a beef enchilada, and rice and beans. See the photo. $ 8.99 was $ 4.00 more than what it was worth. The chili relleno was a small chili stuffed with cheese in a batter/coating with no sauce and no flavoring. The beef enchilada was a store bought flour tortilla with some ground beef, sprinkled with cheddar cheese and canned enchilada sauce… and microwaved. Seriously, you can do this at home for $ 1.50. Why does it get 4 stars? Because of the awesome ambiance and cheap eats off the burrito and a la cart menu. Seriously, stay clear of the dinners, because you can get delicious authentic Mexican food at nearly half the price elsewhere. My fave is Beunavista Mexican Cantina. Will I be back? For sure. And I’ll get an el cheapo burrito and a taco… Just like the employee suggested. Great hole in the wall, eclectic eatery. Not a place for good Mexican food.

Ryan K’s review is beyond ridiculous. I have been going to Bandito for over 15 years now, and the people there are as nice and non-pretentious as you are ever going to meet. That isn’t to say they are going to take a bunch of crap from someone. If you want someone to kiss your butt, there are plenty of places downtown that will do that for you at 50 – 75 bucks a pop. But if you want some of the most tasty food in Huntsville, and for under 10 bucks, including a beer, then Bandito is your place. Nice people, great food, no BS! … and that’s no BS.

Love this place!!! Whooda thunk you could get such good food for such a good price? The Green Bean Burrito is my total favorite. I tried the fish tacos and they were ok. The beef taco is good. Decided not to mess with perfection so I always order the burrito… or two! I’m eating there today and think i’ll try their guac and chips!

Nicknamed«The Deedler» among friends, Bandito is a quintessential aspect to a successful trip to, through, or out-and-about in Huntsville. A great place for a quick bite, a good place to see the locals of Huntsville and a long long time local favorite. Great beer selection, good food, and patio seating for a larger group! A good place to grab a beer and hang or meet like-minded people… Probably(I don’t know you). Get a brownie too! GAH-LEE a place you don’t want to pass by when you’re getting hungry!

Small little spot with good beers, decent food, but a little overpriced in my opinion. $ 16 for food and a beer was a bit higher than expected, but I won’t complain too much because they had an exclusive vegetarian menu that is usually not available in Mexican joints. That was a pleasant surprise that definitely makes this place deserving of 4⁄5 stars.

Stopped here last night for a quick evening meal while working. Ordered a Chili Verde burrito with rice and beans. Everything was perfect, was exactly what I was looking for. The food was fresh and wholesome tasting, thought the refried beans were exceptionally good. Portion size was perfect for me also, and just the right amount of spice(not overwhelming in either respect, so my tummy went down the road quite happy). Staff was extremely friendly, service was quick(although it was quarter past seven in the evening when I ordered). For a six dollar meal, it was 5 Star quality. Definitely plan to come back, will not even think about«Fast Food» if I’m anywhere close to the Bandito Burrito, it’s my choice in HSV for a quick, quality meal.
