The Donut Palace

On the way to Lufkin from Beaumont! It’s early and my boyfriend was craving donuts. We pulled into this tiny Donut Palace right off the highway in Huntington. Skeptical because of the size of the building and nothing else was around, we still decided to give it a try. Happy that we did!
As we walked in, we were greeted by a young girl at the counter who was ready to help. We definitely knew we wanted some kolaches and glazed donuts. The kolaches were awesome. You could taste the spice of the jalapeño within the plentiful serving of sausage, topped with the perfect amount of buttery, melt in your mouth bread. When I peeked around the corner, I saw that a man was frying/​flipping the donuts individually by hand, which explained why the donuts were so soft and fresh.
I noticed that a lot of cars were going through the drive-​thru. I rarely take this route, but if I ever do so again, we’ll definitely stop in.
